I wrote 2 great reviews for Finch, I spoke too soon. I had to call them out 3 times in less than 48 hours. 1st - temp was 87 in house when I got in from being gone a few days, called and someone came out, said it was fixed, cooling until the middle of the night. 2nd - temp was 79 when I got up, rising to 85 rapidly, called again, someone came out mid afternoon and did the same as #1 did, started cooling until about mid afternoon, called and left messages, no callback. In the meantime My house reached temp of about 82 during the night. #3 - someone called about 7:30 the 3rd day!!! Someone came early afternoon, did the same thing as repairman 1 and 2. I told him I was frustrated, hot and very angry. I hired them in good conscience and they had not delivered. I asked if he would or could sleep in this hear, he said...oh no I keep my house about 72 degrees. He told me I had to call a plumber, I asked why I wasn't told this before, did something it works. I would not recommend them

My moto has always been "All's well that ends well". The transaction got off to a rough start. But, in the end, Finch took the steps to make it alright. That's why I gave them an A rating in spite of the bumps in the road. Let me start by saying I've never purchased a new HVAC system for a home before. So, as a laymen, I did my research and spent quite a bit of money before I became comfortable with the notion of hiring a HVAC contractor to replace the existing system that was 12 years old. I got quotes from all of the major players in my area including Dr Cool, Air Con, Air Tech, and ARS. All but one of these had an A rating on Angies List. I read some reviews and compared my quotes (only considered replacing my 14 SEER Trane with a 16 SEER Trane. The prices that I was often quoted range from 9K - 9.5K for a 5 ton 16 SEER and substantially less for a 5 ton 13 SEER. This was usually without any negotiations. The salesperson would arrive and assess the situation and leave a written estimate that was usually 2K-4K higher than the follow up price. At the time I settled on Finch, only ARS and Finch was offering to do the deal on credit with 0% interest for longer than I needed. First, let me say that I met some really personable sales people from all of these organizations. Some of the sales people were more technical and thorough than others. But, I'm not that technical and I focused on two or three deliverables. 1. SEER and EER rating 2. Warranty 3. Service (including service agreement, service after the sale, and assurance that everything was done right) I think Finch did a good job of convincing me that things would be done to my satisfaction. Indeed right on their site: http://www.finchac.com/services/residential-air-conditioning-services/ It says the following: ************************* Consumer Assurance: When you purchase a new air conditioning and/or heating system from Finch Air Conditioning and Heating, you can rest assured the job will be done right by our factory-trained installers. But it doesn?t stop there? our installation foreman personally inspects every job to make sure it is installed to the high standards of both the manufacturer and Finch Air Conditioning and Heating. ************************** No one in the office seem to be aware of that claim. But, my salesperson and the service manager (Jerry), reached an acceptable compromise that included Jerry himself and a technician coming out to walk through all of my concerns once we got the right system installed -- which were addressed in the end. I'm not one of those customers who expects that every transaction will go perfectly. I understand there are inefficiencies in many organizations. I try to focus on what went right. Here is a small list: 1. I ultimately got a 16 SEER system for $9850. 2. I ultimately got my issues surrounding the 16 SEER installation addressed It's worth mentioning here that you should ask for the customer service manager if their is a problem. When Jerry got involved, the pendulum began to swing toward a more customer focus. That's not to say that my salesperson wasn't professional. He indeed remained professional in all of his interactions with me throughout. I did lose contact with him as his phone number changed between the signing of the contract and the final installed product. I should also add that the foreman, who did come out at the beginning to get the crew started, was also very professional and helped to right the ship when things went off course. His name is Ken. It was Ken who put me in touch with Jerry. While Ken never returned to "inspect" the work. I believed in the end that if something wasn't right, Finch would take care of it. So far, they have. At this point I'm just waiting for warranty information, paperwork related to the service agreement that was purchased, and product manuals or some substitute for the original product manuals that were not received from the installers. I will update this review as we begin to see how the unit performs and after it is inspected for building code compliance, and performance.

I had a very good experience with Finch and highly recommend them. We installed a completely new system, a Trane XL18i (18 seer) 4 ton, variable speed air handler with heat pump, and all new duct work. My 20+ year old A/C system went out and we got about 10 bids. Finch wasn?t the cheapest, they were actually the 2nd highest. Finch came highly recommended by friends and church members. Plus, we really liked their sales person, David Payne, so we went with them. I?ll get the few (very few) negatives out of the way now. They related to the salesperson David Payne. He?s a good, friendly guy, eager for the sale, and we liked his aggressive approach. The issues we ran into related to him being new to selling A/C systems. He mistakenly (an accident for sure) told us we didn?t need new copper lines. He said Finch would use our existing copper lines. We also had some debate over whether new vent grills were included in the quote. To be fair, I think it was all just being new to the job. After some arguing, Finch did step up and take care of the grills and we paid for 1/2 the copper lines, something we would have had to pay for any way if we had understood the need up front. The owner even called later and showed a lot of class to smooth things over. As for the rest, the workmanship was excellent. The workers that came into the house took great pains to keep the house and yard clean. Considering the load of garbage (i.e. old system) they pulled out of the house, it was actually quite a task. Their truck parked outside looked professional, the workers were friendly and worked hard and were much faster than I thought they?d be. The whole job took approx 2-1/2 days. A supervisor showed up and talked to us from time to time to let us know how things were going. He also recommended some changes that they didn?t charge us for. We had one air return and the quote included one more. He recommended an extra return after some measurements and didn?t charge us for it. The outside unit is a beast. They used two concrete slabs standing on top of concrete blocks and the thing is about as tall as I am (6'2"). I like that the 18i has a cover to keep leaves and debris from falling in. With the concrete blocks under the two slabs, it's about a foot off the ground which will help keep lawn clippings from going in from the mower and weed eater. The only draw back is that being that tall you can see it clearly from the street. I need to plant big shrub in front of it! The air handler in the attic looks like a space ship. It's huge and silvery. All told, with the plenum it's approx 12-15 feet long. We put in two 4 inch media filters. Our quote only included one and they installed a second for no additional charge. Plus, all the new shiny R8 ductwork running across the attic is nice. From a performance standpoint, the new system is awesome. I really like the variable speed blower. We can?t hear it blowing 99% of the time. While it?s been in a month, I haven?t fully seen the impact on our electricity bill just yet. The bill is almost half of what it?s been in the past, which is great, but some of that may be attributable to having no A/C prior to the completion of the new Trane system. All told it?s going to save a lot of money, by my calculation, and if the early results hold about $80/month on the electric bill. I?ll put in a plug here for the heat pump as well. It basically runs the A/C system backwards in cold weather which apparently is a cheaper source of heat than the normal heat strips. Apparently that draws a lot less amps than heat strips and provides a less intense heat. If you?ve ever struggled with how hot normal systems blow in the winter, you know what I mean. We spent about $2k more than what we meant to, but Finch did negotiate with us on the 18i system when we were looking at a 16 seer 15i. We felt like we got a better deal for the 18 seer system.

They were very prompt, very professional; diagnosed and repaired the problem with non-working AC very quickly. It was a weekend (Easter Weekend actually) so I was very grateful for their prompt response. However, after further follow up I discovered I paid too much for the part and its replacement. They also pushed a bit for a whole new unit--I am aware my unit is aging and will need to be replaced within a few years, but thought this was an unnecessary sales tool. That said, once I told them I was not interested in putting in a new unit at this time they have not contacted me again, which speaks to their professionalism.

I've been a regular customer of Finch for more than 20 years. In all of that time I think I've only had 1 or 2 problems with the service people that came to my home and Finch ALWAYS corrected the issue and responded to the problem. When Richard Yoakum came out today (5/8/2014) I was given the fine Finch service I've come to expect. He was thorough, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Overall, Finch is a great service provider. I bought both my A/C unit and Heating unit from them and have had all my service done by them for many years. They have grown extensively over the years but have maintained their "small business" treatment of their customers and I appreciate that! You can't go wrong with Finch.
Description of Work: My Spring A/C check-up was performed by Richard Yoakum of Finch AC & Heating. Richard has been to my home before on a call-out service call and today to do my regular Spring check-up. He is very professional, very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to let the customer know what he is doing.

It went fine. We wanted a very expensive system. Our bills are a third of what they use to be. The technicians did not seem to understand it completely. I do not think that they install to many of this kind. They got it in and it works. It has a special filter that kills anything organic. It kills mold and mildew. They charge $150 for servicing. My husband changes the filters now and it is effective. My husband has bad allergies and this helped a lot. I would use them again.

I bought a brand new Trane A/C and heating (furnace) unit in the summer of 2013. Had a few problems with the new Trane and Finch come out each time to try and address the problem. I am thankful for the warranty that was provided and the professionalism that Finch has given me over the years. They have been the winning bidder the last few years when I have had new new units installed. I even saw the owner of the company come out and deliver food to his workers one day. I was impressed!

Sales rep, Larry, very knowledgeable and courteous. Explained various options very well. Installation went well except for two items: 1) Blower intake duct was not properly sealed and was only visible from inside return air duct, discovered by homeowner during final inspection and not contractor. 2) Housekeeping in attic could have been better. Contractor did return promptly and corrected the intake duct problem. The rest of the work was very good quality.

The technician first came to my place on Friday and informed me that the compressor and coils needed to be replaced, but the unit would work until the unit was replaced, so I made an appointment to have the repair done on Tuesday at 8:00 am. My unit actually worked on and off until Monday afternoon when it quit working completely. I was called by dispatch Tuesday morning at 8:00 am and told that the crew would be late (by a couple hours), it would have been better if they would have called the night before so I could have gone in to work for a few hours before they arrived. I received a call at 9:45 am that the crew was on their way. They arrived at 10:00 am and started working. The three man crew barely spoke English, so I had no idea exactly what was going on until a foreman arrived about 11:30 to tell me that they were wanting on parts that they did not know they were going to need. It took about 5 hours to complete the job and the workers were very diligent even though it was super hot (about 88 degrees in the house alone). When finished I was asked to sign paperwork regarding the completion of the work and to set up an appointment for the inspector to come. I asked a few questions especially about the inspections, but received no answers due to the language barrier. I am very pleased with the work and the product; I think that maybe the company should have an English speaking person on site at the end of the job to answer questions or concerns.

Thank you for the remarks. We try to hire English speaking installers but they are hard to find. Two of the three installers in your home do speak English but they are shy and chose their words very carefully. Sometimes their long hesitations make them appear like they do not speak English. Our goal is to provide you with the best quality installation available. Our installers are factory trained and go through a long apprentice program. Thank you again for your comments and for using Finch Air Conditioning as your service provider.

They are so helpful. When I asked the guy to come out to give me a price on the air conditioner, he looked at the whole system and gave me all kinds of advice on how to make things more efficient. He didn't charge for the additional effort that he went through. He kept telling me that my air conditioner was fine and the issue was with the vents because they were put upside down, so he saved me tons of money. He didn't do that at all. He looked at the system and looked at what I had. Once the problem was fixed, it was fine. He was so honest and didn't try to sell me an air conditioner.

I received a quote for air duct cleaning in my home on May 6, 2013 from Todd. After much consideration and receiving bids from other companies, I elected to use their services. I called the office (281-470-0773) on the morning of Monday June 10, 2013 to schedule the job. I was told by the secretary that Todd was out on medical leave but that another Technician was scheduling his jobs. I was told that someone would call me back that same day to schedule the job. After not receiving a call on Monday or Tuesday, I called on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 and inquired about scheduling the job. I talked to Terry who seemed as he was too busy to answer questions I had about the job. I was told by Terry that there was an opening on Thursday June 13, 2013 and that the service crew would arrive sometime between 8a-10a and that the job would take approximately 5-6 hours. I took a day off from work to be at the home so the work could be done. On June 13, 2013 at 10am I called the office since no one had arrived or called to notify me that they were on their way. I was told by Terry that he had scheduled the work for Friday June 14, 2013. I know there was no mix up on the days on my part since I had an appointment on Friday and knew that I would not be home. So now I am out a day from work and did not receive the service from Finch as expected. I am disappointed and feel that they do not place enough value on taking care of their customers.

Very knowledgable staff. Interviewed several companies, and Finch seemed extremely knowledgable. On time, work was completed in two days. Cleaned up all mess. They repaired unforseen complications such as vibration within the wall and ductwork that was too small. The company is concerned with customer service and I was asked several times if I was 100% satisfied.
