Nothing was done.

Mr. Munoz came out promptly to give a quote, then took a 50% deposit for the metal. He came out again with the curved fence to make sure it would fit correctly and to check if the paint color was to our liking. Later he and two other workers came out and installed the fence and the two sets of gates. They worked quickly and professionally and did a great job! We really love our gate with the leaves and scrolls and curved top, and like the curving fence line. Mr. Munoz left us the remainder of the paint, so we could touch up the fence if needed at a later time. It was a pleasure working with him and his workers.

While the job was completed, it was not completed at a level that was satisfactory to me. I ended up with a functional gate, but one that sticks out like a sore thumb. Although we had discussed the job in detail over the phone and I had followed up via e-mail with pictures and a detailed written description of what I needed, the first time that Fernando arrived to install the gate he didn't have any fence posts nor any cement for the fence posts. I didn't want a gate installed that would be unstable over time so I asked that he reschedule the installation and to please bring out the correct fence post materials. On his second trip out, Fernando did complete the installation of the gate, but it was installed with the gate pickets opposite the side that the fence pickets are located, without a finial cap on the new fence post and with the horizontal iron on the fence frame exposed as opposed to being welded to the inside of the vertical iron on the frame. Additionally, he didn't bring any paint which required for me to paint the gate myself. Overall, I did end up with a functional gate, but the finishing details were not up to the standards I would expect from a professional installer, especially with the amount of detail, both written and in pictures, that I had provided him prior to coming out to complete work.

I called Fernando and then I failed to call him back. He called me to ask if I still needed help, and even though he had to travel quite a distance to my home, he came out to my house and gave me an estimate. He made the railings quickly (overnight) and was back at my home 2 days later to install. I just wanted the cheapest, plain railings, but he made them really pretty, with curved ends and some nice detailing at a very reasonable price. Will definitely hire him again.
