Kurt with Southwest Flooring Direct was awesome to work with. He answered his phone when it rang, answered all of my questions, and showed up when he said he would. He stood by his original price quote for all of the work performed. His crew completed the work quickly, with high quality results, and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely hire them again!

The floor was sanded, stained to match the neighboring flooring, and double coated with polyurethane. All this was done in two days, then after a day of drying, they returned and put back all the heavy furniture that had been removed on day one. The floor looked great when finished. Plastic sheeting was used to seal off other areas of the house from dust exposure.

Having experienced a slow leak in a vertical pipe which damaged our wood laminate flooring, I once again hired Southwest Flooring Direct to do the work of providing new flooring throughout the house. And, once again, I was extremely happy with the work done. The two installers, Javier and his nephew, were quite skilled at laying down flooring. Each complemented the other. After 5 days, our house had beautiful replacement wood laminate flooring. The amazing thing was how these two men were able to move heavy pieces of furniture around and not ever scratch or break anything. Also, they always arranged their work schedule so that we would have our master bedroom available for sleeping each evening. There was never a need to stay at a hotel. Kurt, the owner, came over several times during the week to check on the progress. Everything ran smoothly because of his management style. He respects his men and their skills and they, in turn, respect him and work hard to live up to his expectations. He is very much the gentleman and will bend over backwards to provide the kind of flooring of which you can be proud. I highly recommend Kurt and Southwest Flooring Direct.

Kurt and his crew were great! Kurt was timely in returning calls and making appointments. We brought samples with him which was very convenient. His crews started on time and did a great job with the installation and cleanup. Everything was done in about 3 days and it looks great. I'll call him again to do my downstairs.

Kurt's ceramic installers did an exceptional job of installing the 8" x 48" wood look ceramic tile. They were professional, courteous and completed the whole project in less than 3 days. We are extremely happy with the new look in our kitchen, dining room, office, laundry room and powder room.

I'll start by saying the floors look good, but the material quality was not as expected. For what i paid, I'd expect a high quality engineered wood that is scratch resistant. Wood scratches easily, and I've noticed several small scratches on both the floor and trim that must have been made by the installer. The floors are dark so a black sharpe covers the scratches. As I mentioned above, I just didn't expect that I'd have to do this for the cost. This is my first hardwood installation so maybe this is normal. I had a few planks where the corners came up because they weren't glued down well, and I made numerous attempts to get Kurt to correct the issue. He did respond to emails and calls at first requesting that I wait until they have a job in my area, and this is very unprofessional in my opinion. What if I had asked them to wait on payment until I was in their area? I doubt that would have been acceptable to him. I responded by giving them a week to give me a firm date on when they coud do it, and then Kurt just stopped answering my emails. In addition to the above, I was also hit with a changer order during the installation. I know change orders happen after you see something unexpected, and I didn't make a big issue of it so the least he could have done was repair this minor issue. I wouldn't be updating my review now had it been done. With all the floor installers in Houston and surrounding areas, I'd look elsewhere.

Our floors are beautiful! We would definitely use them again since we had such a great experience. From our initial contact, to the close of the job, Kurt and his team were very professional and helpful. We had Kurt come out to show us samples and got an estimate very quickly. The product we chose is really beautiful, and you can tell it's a quality product. The job was done fairly quickly (about 2 1/2 days). The two installers have been doing work for this company for many years, and we could tell why. They moved any furniture we needed without complaint. They worked nonstop and were respectful of our home. They installed the laminate professionally and there were no complications. We love our new look and highly recommend this local business.

Overall great experience. Kurt and his crew were always timely and professional. The finished product looks fantastic. There were a few cosmetic concerns which were addressed to my complete satisfaction. Kurt quoted the job about a grand less than the other bids I received. I would use them again without hesitation.

I recently moved to Houston and I purchased a home, being new to the area I quickly turn to Angie's list to find a good flooring company/contractor. After reading tons of reviews it was eminent that southwest flooring was superior than any other floor companies. I had the pleasure to meet Kurt and he did a Superb job. He is extremely professional, knowledgable, and courteous. He complete the job while I was out of the country and kept me inform about the job progress and of sent pictures often. I will definitely call Kurt again for future home improvements.

The owner and the workers were very good and professional. They were very careful on moving the furniture and leaving everything clean and in order. The installation was very good on all rooms and he was very good on getting the color we wanted on the laminate. I'll do a the rest of the house next year and call them back again. I had an excellente experience and recommend this company to install any type of flooring.

I received several estimates to have wood flooring installed in my master bedroom, guest room and two closets. Kurt gave me an estimate for engineered wood that was about $1000 more expensive than the estimate I received for solid hardwood. After negotiating with him, he lowered the price a bit, but was still higher than my next estimate. Regardless, I chose him because he promised me a "hassle free" experience. I was out of town for two weeks, he was going to come and move all of my furniture, install the wood, put the furniture back, etc. Everything would be done when I got home, and he assured me I would have nothing to worry about. He began the project and, texted me when it was done. He told me I owed him $160 more than we had discussed because he had to buy products to even out the subfloor. He texted me that everything was completed. After a two and a half day drive from Las Vegas, I come home to find none of my furniture put back in its place. In fact, all of my furniture was shoved into my master bath - bed, two dressers, tv, computer, everything. It was apparent that care was not taken to move my furniture. I called Kurt and told him I would have to stay in a hotel, as I had no other furniture in my home. I had to drive around for an hour to find somewhere that was pet friendly (I had to bring my two dogs with me). It was an extreme hassle and definitely not what I had expected after such a long drive. The guys met me at my house the next morning to move my furniture back. The floor in the master closet was not completed, as it was supposed to be. The guys told me that Kurt never said anything to them about having to do the closet. Ultimately, the wood that was done looks good, but I can tell there was a complete lack of oversight for, and inattention to detail, to my project. I will not be using Southwest Flooring for my next flooring project.

We got four bids. He wasn't the lowest but he was very honest and very pleasant to be around. One reason we went with him was that he had the most reviews. I think he had 26 reviews. I read through all of them. We went with him and he was excellent. Normally, he would've brought samples but I already knew exactly what I wanted when I was looking for carpet. I already knew the name of it and everything. There was a time that he didn't call me back. He'd already called and given me an update then he didn't call me anymore after that. I almost didn't go with him because of that but then I went looking again at Angie's List. I read all of his reviews and I called him back. That was the only thing in that he didn't call me back and I called him back. It was worth it. I felt free to leave the guys that were installing the carpet in the home because I'd already heard about that. He gave me a good report on them. I left the house. One person went to get their lunch and bring it back. The house was never left.

Kurt is great and very good about calling and giving updates or letting you know if he will be late on a job. I think his employees may need a little extra quality check from time to time, but overall I am very pleased with the outcome of this job. I would definitely use Southwest Flooring again and would give him an A+ on this job.

The experience went good. They did a good job. This was in June.

I called about five installers to get estimates over the phone and in person. From the start, Kurt was very professional and informative. When he stopped by for the in-house estimate - he brought a flooring sample that was similar to the one my husband and I originally chose but it was a better price and we ended up liking it better. Kurt also suggested that we don't put hardwoods in the master closet because people don't normally see it, some people actually like carpet in the closet and it would cost us an additional $300+ to install hardwood floors there. We took his advice and don't regret it. Although it took some time to order the floors (this wasn't Kurt's fault, the wood was in high demand and on back order), Kurt kept in touch with us and always returned calls in a timely manner. When it came time to install the floors, Kurt was accomodating and sensitive to our schedules. Once the work started, it went very smooth and I was impressed with the work Kurt's team completed. The only issue we had was the small trim that goes along the floors and the current baseboards. It seemed like a lower grade quality of trim so my husband and I ended up buying our own trim. The floors came out absolutely beautiful. The look, quality and craftsmanship of the wood has far exceeded our expectations.

Overall, the work went very well. I identified this provider via Angie's list, and contacted via phone. Response was professional, and representative scheduled an appointment at my earliest convenience. Representative arrived on time, and shared flooring samples (based on original phone call discussion), and then collected measurements. Within a short time period, a quote was made available. Southwest Flooring was very flexible regarding my requests for quotations including pricing 3 different quality levels of carpeting as well as providing the quotation in an itemized fashion. When I agreed to the quotation, the materials were ordered. The work was scheduled at my earliest convenience. The ceramic tile work was completed first as material was immediately available, and carpeting was installed at my next available time. The tile is a great improvement to the existing flooring in the house. Carpeting work included removal of the existing carpeting. This work was completed quickly with the work team maintaining a clean environment as they proceeded. All materials were bundled up an removed as the job progressed. Prior to installing new carpeting and padding, the existing floor area was cleaned. The new flooring was installed, and vacuumed. The work was completed professionally, and I am pleased with the finished product.

Great customer service! Last week I had some electrical workers who moved our piano and scratched up our floors. They offered to pay, but I needed something in writing to estimate the cost. I told Southwest Flooring that we were not ready to do the job, but I was hoping they could help me out anyway. Kurt graciously agreed to help, sending me an official estimate which happened to be within 50 cents of the previous Angie's list member I called. Their prices are spot-on. Saving this company to my favorites! Will call when the time comes.

We had Southwest Flooring Direct refinish the hardwood floors in the downstairs area of our home and install new linoleum. We took three bids and chose Southwest Flooring because of other reviews I read on Angie's List and Kurt Cradic's professional approach. Kurt is the owner and he personally handles all sales. He was punctual, friendly and courteous. Our home is approximately 80 years old and has hardwood flooring throughout the downstairs and upstairs areas, except in the kitchen, breakfast room, laundry room and bathrooms. The original flooring was in good shape but the finish had reached the end of its life. Southwest Flooring sanded the floor and applied two coats of polyurethane. The quality of work is extremely good. The workers were very careful to avoid allowing dust to scatter throughout the house by sealing off doorways with plastic sheeting. They were through in two days. Several weeks later we had them install new linoleum in our kitchen, breakfast area and laundry room. The workers were very thorough and professional and were completely through in one day. We were impressed with the overall experience so much that we plan to have the hardwood floors in our three upstairs bedrooms, hallway and living room refinished in the coming months.
