They sent out a young man to service the motor. At first it didn't work and then he called his boss. His boss told him to do the whole replacement and it works. They didn't charge me the second time. I'm impressed with them.

Clay gave me a call the first day within an hour of my first request for a quote. We discussed the job, and He gave me a verbal quote on the phone during the first call. His quote turned out to be the best I received. He was very relaxed, friendly, and very professional. It was obvious he knew exactly what he was doing. I followed up with him and we set a date for install. He was on time, and He even had to go get another 3 parts because I mistakenly gave him incorrect information about the size of the doors. He got the parts and was back at my house later that day and did a quick and easy installation. I HIGHLY recommend Clay and Overhead Door.

We have used this company three times over the last 15 years. Every experience has been the same. They were responsive, on time, courteous, and reasonably priced.

Usually I can get the garage door back on track, but this time the cables were a tangled mess and beyond my capabilities. American Overhead Door got it back in working condition and lubricated the system. Price was reasonable and the service was exactly what I needed.

It only took a couple of days to get American Overhead Door out to determine we really needed to replace our garage doors. We were told we could try to temporarily fix the problem at a much lower cost, but they could not guarantee how long the fix would last as they already fixed the same problem 4 years ago. In their opinion, they felt it was time to replace the doors. We were given a few different options, cost wise, and we discussed them all. They were punctual, efficient, and very friendly. They reprogrammed our garage door openers, and replaced the batteries and light bulbs. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

He was on time (brought his little girl with him) and efficient. Cost was a little higher than we initially discussed but okay figuring he came out the same day. Wasn't real thrilled at his critizism of the insulation installed on the door. He also decided that the real problem was with the garage door opener (without actually inspecting it), suggesting I return it to the store and have him order and install a better opener. I passed on his suggestion to my husband when he got home. My husband got on a step stool and put the belt back on the opener track... haven't had a problem since.

Based on what was wrong, recommended that I not repair, but replace.

I called American Overhead first thing on Friday morning and they hard someone out to install the new opener by noon on Satuday. He did a great job and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction before leaving. He installed upgraded rollers and showed us how to keep them lubricated to keep working efficiently. This is the second time we used this company and we're very satisfied.

I called around 8:30 am on Dec. 17 and was told that someone would be at my home around 2:00 that same afternoon. I told the man that I had to pick up my grandson at 2:45 and would appreciate an earlier time if possible. I was told he would do his best to accommodate my schedule. The technician arrived around 11:30. I think the man's name was Brian. He checked out our 14 year old opener system and suggested a repair option that cost $105.00 plus service call of $45.00. He also reminded me to oil the rollers once a month to keep the system running smoothly. I was pleased with how quick someone responded and his honesty.

The repair was successful because Abel knew just what to do. The door would not completely close, so he adjusted the center control arm, replaced two roller holders, demonstrated how to use WD-40 to make the rollers move more smoothly and used his battery to test the remote control. All works and is in fine condition, almost like brand new. Thank You, Abel Evelyn Womack

My garage door opener stopped working on Monday morning. I looked on Angie's List and found this company in our neighborhood. I called them and the gentleman said he would check with his technician and call us back in an hour so we could hopefully get the opener replaced the same day. The technician called us back promptly and came right out. He replaced the old garage opener and put an extra brace on our garage door so it would not sag. He was very polite, knowledgeable, and professional. We were very pleased and will certainly use them again.

Excellent experience, overall. Called on a Sunday night thinking I would just leave a voice mail, but he actually answered the phone and scheduled me for the next day. He showed up as promised, checked it out and performed the repairs the following day (the part he needed was not available). So the door is now repaired and opens much quieter and smoother than before.

Excellent service from this company. The technician offered a new unit but he also opined that new gears in the old unit would last quite a while and he had the gears on his truck. We appreciated the honesty and integrity evidenced by the young man and just had the gears replaced.

I found the company's name on Angie's list, called them at 9 a.m. Their technician arrived as scheduled at 2 p.m the same day, calling me to confirm that he was on his way. Their technician only took 30 minutes to do the job and charged for a service call. He was courteous, knowledgeable and a great representative for his company.

Overall it was excellent. The door came off the track on a Sunday night about 9:00 p.m. I tried for at least an hour to fix it but couldn't. I called American Overhead Crane (plus about a half dozen other companies), but was most impressed with the helpfulness of the gentleman who took my call at American Overhead Door. I was even more impressed when the technician arrived the next day upon schedule in one of the heaviest downpours Houston has seen in a long time. The workmanship was great. A brand new track with everything in place, and comes with a guarantee! I was very impressed with what it cost me. I received guesstimates up to $300 when I was making calls. I will use American Overhead again. I recommend them to anyone.
