Affordable Remodeling by John

John showed up on the day we discussed, he got right to work and was finished on time. He was very professional and the quality of work was very good. The new vent-a-hood looks great and even though there were some unexpected complications he worked quickly and never gave us any concerns that the job would not be completed as expected. Each night they cleaned up the area so that we could still use the kitchen at night.

John removed everything in the kitchen down to the bare walls and floor. He recommended Roberson Trim and Cabinets to build new cabinets and they are beautiful and of excellent quality. He removed overhead lighting box and replaced with pot lights and pendant lights. Cabinets were installed and painted. Lighting was placed in upper glass cabinets. John installed a new glass back splash and we couldn't be happier. New tile floor was put down and walls were painted. He installed all new appliances and a new toilet in the half bath. John is a very hard worker and does an extremely professional job in all areas. He makes sure to keep the work area as clean as possible. The quality of his work is superb. The kitchen is beautiful and we enjoy it a great deal. We would not hesitate to use him again for any job that we need.

He told me it would be about four weeks and five months later he was always talking about a huge kitchen project. He miss informed me and kept giving me a run aournd and never bother to call to let me know if he would be able to do my project.

John did an excellent job - my master bedroom and master bathroom look wonderful. He is very professional also he and his team are very clean and left everything as they found it before starting the work! Absolutely love his work and will continue to use him - as of today I have used his services about 4 times

I would like to thank John and his crew for a well done job! We ran into a few hold ups along the way that were not of his control related to the foundation and electrical, but we kept in close contact. John was very responsive and offered many suggestions to help us along the way. Come to find out he was working on a house across the street just before starting our job. They were also very happy with his work as well! We will be calling you again for additional work in the future.

John assessed our problems, gave quote and began work. All was completed in one day.

John and his team of people came in, took off the balcony, rebuilt the garage door framing, roof line, took out a door at the balcony and replaced with 2 windows. New Sheetrock, shingles, paint, etc. I have had a lot of compliments on the new look. John and his guys did a superb job! I would not hesitate to call him again for any job nor would I hesitate to recommend him (and have done so many times). Finally, I have 2 very spoiled, very protective schnauzers. John was excellent with them! :-)

I had a water leak coming in my master bedroom patio door when it rained really hard. I had no idea where it was coming from. John found the source of the leak, and he was very thorough in this task. It was actually leaking from two places, one major and one minor, and he remediated them both. The work was done with the utmost professionalism. John is now my new handyman for all my handyman needs! Thank you!

John and his subcontractors are all very easy to work with and very fair. We discussed the work and agreed easily on what tasks were part of the original estimate and what tasks would require additional cost. During the demo and repair of the closets, the only additional cost was relocating some of the electrical which I did not request in the original estimate. Because the first part was a small job, I was willing to let his team work between other jobs, but he still finished the first stage of the work in only a couple of days. This involved coordinating himself (demo/framing/sheetrock/floating/texturing), his electrician, and his HVAC subcontractor schedules, which isn't always easy. Had I demanded it, he would have compressed the schedule for me, but it wasn't necessary. I've done home remodeling of my previous house, and I know how much of a challenge it is. He knew how to build a bit of safety margin into the proposal to handle unexpected surprises (there are always surprises when you demo) and his skill and quality of work were evident. I was able to watch him work here and there, the guy is very good. After he finished getting the walls back in shape, I ordered and installed cabinets on my own and brought him back in to install countertops and bartops. This was not a small job. In order to reduce costs, John worked with us to choose an affordable option on the granite (prefabbed pieces). After we chose the type/color/pattern of granite, he selected the best pieces for our purposes, had the bartops fabricated, and cut the pieces to rough size. At his suggestion, we agreed to have him cut down one side of the pony wall on our center island, which really opened up the floorplan. Cutting down and refinishing the pony wall, Installation of the bartops and countertops, mounting the undermount sink (which we purchased separately_ and installing the faucet and drains only took about 2 days of work. He was fast and thorough. All through the process, he kept me informed and gave me options on how to handle any curveballs. I was able to watch him work, and in most cases he was more picky than I was. Next steps are for me to install tile for the backsplash myself. After that, I plan to bring John back in to do the floor tiling. I can't express enough how much of a pleasure it was to work with John. He's fair, pleasant, communicates well, and offers options when needed.

John was extremely professional, timely, and very friendly. Even though it was a small project I will be contacting him for any-size project in the future.

John did an excellent job! The finished result looks GREAT! He discussed steps with us as he went along letting us know all difficulties he ran into so that we would be aware. We've had LOTS of work done on a previous home, so I can confidently say that NO ONE has ever taken the trouble to make sure that he did as clean a job as could possibly be expected. He guarded from sheet rock dust and general mess getting all over my living room. He was cordially polite and professional. He also touched up paint and texture on walls that had damage. We were very pleased with his work and have already ask for a bid on another job from him. When he says INTEGRITY and PRECISION matter to him, he means it.

Very disappointing responsiveness.

Work was excellent quality. He really cleaned up well. I already have more plans for him. Had great suggestions and would gently steer me in the right direction when I wasn't sure what to. Also repaired siding on the house and matched the paint

John is prompt, shows up when he says, and is particularly good with his woodworking. If you are not sure about which direction to go, in making a decorating or remodeling choice, he can offer good advice from his experience. I believe he is honest, trustworthy, and does a wonderful job. He is very busy, so you might have to wait to get onto his list if you have a big job for him to do.

He never provided me a quote for the new work. I called and left several messages and he never got back to me until after the holidays.

He did good work when I could pin him down to get him to do the work. I had to work around his schedule.

John arrived early, set up quickly, refaced inner walls of two cabinets, created and finsihed new bottoms for both cabinets. Wood was already clear coated when he arrived. Cabint interiros look better than when they were new. Excllent fit of all new pieces he created. Very professional, used drop clothes, vacuumed inside and outside when he was done.. We will use John again soon on some small projects we have pending, we are also talking to him about remodeling our stairs. He is very knowledgeable, wife is very happy with him and his work. Eddie

John was punctual & professional, listened to our needs of work performed, looked at all the areas that we pointed out for repair. He told us that he would contact us in 2-3 days with an estimate. We did not hear from him again so we had to choose another company to finish our remodeling.

They are beautiful. He also trimmed, to my delight, with a lovely crown molding. He did an amazing job. I was delighted. It took about a day and a half. He brought his materials over on Thursday evening, and started work on Friday morning. He worked about 12 hours on Friday, and the shelves were ready for final paint job Saturday morning. He was finished by about 11:30 AM Saturday. Beautiful work. He also pointed out that 1 of my electrical plugs is not working, which I didn't know about. He also got the part and fixed a small problem with my sink stopper in my guest bathroom, which had never been properly installed. I paid for the part, which he picked up at Lowe's, and he fixed it. Great attention to detail, amazing artistry. He is a true woodworker.

John answered call and promptly came by to review work needed. We had several small jobs. John was very professional in taking the time to survey the tasks and ask questions to clarify the work. He provided a quote detailed by task including labor and materials. John worked with us to schedule the job around his work load and our summer schedule. He arrived promptly on the scheduled date. One task was to remove exterior shudders and to construct replacements. John was very easy to work with on the design of the new shutters. We are very pleased with the work and the work experience. Would definitely hire John again.

John did a great job. He takes real pride in his work. He is on time and works until the job is finished. Completely trustworthy and a genuinely nice guy. We were clear that the project was to help bring the house up to a level to sell and he offered advice about where to invest in order to get the best look for the price we wanted to pay. We had a good experience and would use him again without question. We have a young family and he was always very respectful and cleaned up every day. He always worked on just one room at a time so although he was working in our home for a few weeks it never felt as if we were living in a construction zone. Little things made a lot of difference to us - his estimate was accurate and there was always agreement prior to any change from the agreed scope of work. He was great with the family - including our dog and would watch our for her if we were out of the house. John generally worked on his own but did have some support with replacing the shower door and painting the outside of the house. Even then he assumed complete responsibility and ownership of the work. We had one issue where some paint was spilled on a carpet - so John arranged for the carpet to be professionally cleaned the next day and reduced the bill accordingly. If you need someone to do any work in your home then John is your man for sure.

John installed crown molding in our daughters nursery and did an impeccable job and was SO FAST!!! We absolutely love it. He is a super nice guy too and very pleasant to work with. We would definitely hire him again in the future. Thanks John!
