We asked Mr. Power to come over and review our list of work. My wife talked with him, and he offered suggestions on what we would do, and some additional things that would likely need to be done. He provided us with a reasonable estimate. Mr. Power Sr. and Mr. Power Jr. arrived on time and started working immediately. They were prompt, friendly, responsive, communicated well, and had a great attitude. Their work was excellent; it is obvious they have experience with a wide variety of things. Everything looked much better once they were done. Good work! They arrived and setup their trailer the first day. We allowed them to leave the trailer in the driveway for the 4 days they worked here, so they did not have to haul it back and forth. They moved all the furniture (including the refrigerator). We paid about 10% of the original amount up front so Mr. Power could purchase anything extra he needed. They also picked up some doors we had purchased at a store to be used for this work. When done, he listed everything in the bill very clearly, and we paid in full. We are looking forward to doing business with them again. We are already building a list of more stuff we need done. Had Donald (Powers) do some initial repair work putting underpinning on my pier and beam house as a test. He passed w/ flying colors and I had him repair, replace wood, and stain the entire house for about a week's worth of work at about 5 grand. He's a diamond in the rough. There were times when he actually told me what I wanted costed to much, and the value wasn't there, subsequently suggesting a cheaper (and just as good) way of doing things. He cares about doing a good job, not generating revenue. I trust him implicitly, and he is obviously highly recommended.

I called to get an estimate on getting the entire interior painted. Mr Power and his son arrived and inspected the house. I told him that I need to have it completed soon as possible because my lease in the apartment was ending and I didn't want to move in to the house until it was painted and the flooring was replaced. He told me that he would email the estimate to me, which never happened.

Mr. Power came to my home, was very friendly and knowledgeable and was very patient. We discussed what needed to be done in a trouble area on my eaves, he went home to write me an estimate and emailed the itemized estimate to me. His bid was very reasonable and I was excited to hire him and to have my home repaired.

Stopped by our house and provided a detailed and fair estimate 2 days after I first called. We scheduled the job a week later. The quality of work was exceptional and the job was done fairly quick.

They were great. They did an exceptional job building the room; it looks like it was always part of the house. Their personality was amazing and they were very helpful. My husband is actually deployed and I don’t know all that stuff, so they explained everything to me and told me exactly what was needed and were extremely helpful.

We bought the house and knew things need repair. First winter we realized the back door did not fit the jamb, it was too small (shaved) and cocked in the jamb. A neighbor was having work done and we asked him about it and he recommneded Mr Powers. We called, and he gave us an estimate. Because of his workload it took a while to get the job started. Once started, he helped us purchase the correct pre-hung door, removed the old door & jamb, repaired the sill and threshold, and set the new door and screen. As a bonus, he repaired the door bell as well. All in a day. Because he is in demand, it may take time to get the project started, and he will not be rushed, the job is done correctly or not at all. His work is first rate and he takes the required time to do the job correctly and in a manner worthy of the craftsman he is. I can not recommend him highly enough. We have some other projects in line and he will be the first, and probably only one, we call.

The service was fine. My only concern was that he was one man and I think he could have used two for safety.

I was impressed. When I call he answers my call or responds to my voicemail message almost immediately. I definitely have not found that kind of responsiveness with other home service providers. They were very busy at the time of my initial call, but we made an appointment for them to come out and do the work and lo and behold! They came when they said they would. I also have not found this to be the case with other providers. They did the work and I am quite happy with the results. About a week later, someone ran into my mailbox and knocked it to the ground. I spoke to Don who was too busy at the time to schedule the job, but when he heard that the mailbox was actually on the ground and not functional, he stated he would come out that evening. Sure enough he did. I was expecting just a temporary fix and that I would have to replace the whole thing, but actually, it looks great and has been adequate. After two years of trying to work with various home service providers, I feel I have found my all-purpose handyman.

We were living a few states away and had to have work done on our property. We found power on this site and set up a time for me to come down and explain what needed fixing. He was on time to the estimate and gave a price on everything. Some things he wanted WAY too much for such as touch up painting a cheap baseboard and door trim, literally 10 dime sized areas in a bedroom ($200).and laying tile floors in livingroom and hallway (he was 800 more than one of the moderately priced floor places in town). Most of his work was quality and done in a reasonable manner. took alot longer than i liked, but he had some circumstances that required attention elsewhere which i understood. He forgot to lay a threshold that I had asked about. and returned 2 weeks later to do it. A few things he told me he could do and put in his estimate, he ended up not being able to do ( windows, electrical work ) He attempted the electrical work by installing 5 ceiling fans after his son installed them wrong. This was after I had went back home and could not inspect completed work. He told me all of the fans were working properly. I returned a week later to inspect the work and 3 of the five woked correctly. One fan does not work at all, another fan only comes on with the lights on, these fans have seperate switches for lights and fan. I called him about it and he said it would be 2 weeks for him to get back out. I said ok and told him i would be haing the switches replaced before he got back out. He said it wouldnt be an issue. The switches were replaced and there was no change in the operation of the fans. He came out to look at the fans finally and he said he noticed the sitches were replaced and tried to blame it on that. Then he got frustrated when I brought the previous conversation up and pointed out that i told him of the error prior to the switches replaced and he stated that they were working when he left and he wasn't going to fix them.I also had him texture the entry way to match the rest of the house. whe rest of the house has medium knockdown, he textured the entry way with small knockdown. the texturing got all over new light fixtures, other wlls, and some furniture. He did not lean up this mess at all.

I called, he said he could do the job. I bought some of the supplies and he furnished the rest. He arrived on time. He completed the task in a timely manner making sure it was correct prior to completion. He cleaned up the site! It was a very successful endeavor, I gave him a check and we were both very satisfied! I would use him again for anything he was able to do-which appears to be most handy things! Excellent work and pleasant to work with!

I had Mr. Powers out after screening several folks. He was extremely courteous, very prompt, and did a fantastic job. Let me put it this way, if I had not found him on Angie's list, I would not blast his info out to the world. Alas, I called for some more work earlier today, and he apologized about being booked a month out. He's worth the wait. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Powers.

I called several contractors for bids to replace one double gate and poles, extend front fence line and install double gates and pole, and ended up chosing Power Home Repair. Work entailed removing existing chain link fence and poles, and lots of overgrown bushes (horrible, spikey pyracantha bushes the size of trees). Nathan (Don's son) arranged to do work during a weekend we were out of town. We were so pleasantly surprised when we got home. Both gates and the fencing were beautiful, straight, and of excellent workmanship. He went above and beyond, clearing out extra bushes and growth, and totally cleaning up area. He came back to install the gate stops after he waited to make sure which side of the gate we preferred. Nathan is a nice, friendly, professional young man and I would gladly recommend his work to anyone.

Donald Power is the BEST home improvement, customer-oriented perosn I have ever dealt with in the past 30 years.I would give him an A++++ if I could. What started out in trying to find a good, reliable handyman that would do even small jobs; after finding all he wasaccomplished in, ended up having him remodel our entire kitchen from top to bottom. This included: sanding down cabinets, taking down old paneling, texturing, painting and removing all the backsplash/molding. He repainted kitchen doors, patched up things thatneeded to be done, and even changed and fixed small things, as he saw them. He really goes that extra mile. When I didn't understand certain things, he would go with me to show me exactly what I needed. He cleaned up every evening. He has a great work ethic and his integrity is beyond reproach. Mr. Power is a perfectionist and will get the job done to your standards, and even more so, to his own superior standards. He was always poliet and upbeat, which with my constant changes, was amazing. He never showed anything but kindness and understanding. His rates were very reasonable. His finished job was AWESOME. We were beyond THRILLED with all his work. I would recommend Mr. Power to anyone with hesitation. Everyone needs a Donald Power taking care of their home.

My experience with Power Home Improvement was wonderful. From the estimate to the completion of the work, Don was very professional, punctual, and let me know right away if he couldn't make an appointment time. His craftsmanship is top-notch and he was very helpful in giving me tips on things I could do myself to save money. And, his pricing is very reasonable. One of the best experiences I have had with a tradesmen in a long time.

Excellent! I don't write reviews unless they are really bad or really good. Power Home Improvement falls in to the really good category. In fact, it's better than good. I'd say it is as good as you can get regardless of what kind of job you want done. I can't recommend Power Home improvement enough.

My experience was excellent. Response time was very good and he kept me informed. Project was completed per schedule. Work completed was exceptional and the price was very fair. Mr. Power is detailed oriented. I will be hiring him in the future for additional work.

My wife and I purchased a second home that needed work. We needed contractor help and tried a lot of them. Mr. Power was the only one that was on time, professional, kept in constant communication and did what he said he’d do. He completed the job on time and at a very reasonable price. He turned a house that I couldn’t believe we bought (it was horrible) into something I would live in. Can’t go wrong with this guy!
