Freytag Irrigation

Both my husband and I AND my elderly mother used this company. My experience wasn't as bad as my mother's in that we only hired them for irrigation and sod. We were not given an accurate schematic of where the sprinkler heads were. The sodding was not done well.My biggest complaint is that they "charmed (Clint, as I recall)" my mother into spending over $50,000 in irrigation, sod and landscaping on her $140,000 house in Kempner, TX. When problems arose with the sprinkler system, they did not respond. Plus, they put bubblers near the trunks of each of the trees which I recently learned causes the roots to grow incorrectly. A responsible company would have been more cognizant of the fact that such extravagance was unethical. She was 84 years old!!! She also did not get an accurate lay-out of the sprinkler heads and control mechaisms, making repairs difficult and expensive.I realize this is an old review. But, I would be surprised if their ethics changed We also found out later that they did not use the proper type of wiring on the lighting system, particularly that near water. They did not lay conduit for any of the wiring. They laid rocks for the lower patio and walkways in the backyard, filling with decomposed granite. This made for treacherous walking for my mother, plus it allowed lots of weeds to grow which cost her monthly to have it maintained by another person. All-in-all -- the work looked very good, but it was not technically done well. It was way to expensive a job for the type of house and her age and budget. AND it was very, very expensive to maintain!

Richard was very responsive and knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem via text using pictures taken of the area in question. It turns out the sprinkler system riser valve cracked during the cold snap and developed a major leak. Everything was handled via text and email and we never met in person. The quality of the work was excellent and Richard fixed the valve the following day as soon as he was given the go ahead. The fee paid was more than fair given the professionalism, responsiveness, quality, and trustworthiness of the work performed.
