Artie's Heating & Air Conditioning Inc

On Jan6, 2023 I asked Artie Heating & Air to come out as my thermostats where not setting Emergency Heat correctly and wanted them swapped out or fixed. They said they need to be swapped out, and I had some old ones, and they replaced one with mine, but I required a new one. They offered an Emerson non-programmable low-end thermostat that would work with my heat pump for $120. I knew this was high but wanted to get this done and over with so authorized installation. When I came to pay the bill, they said Ooops, this thermostat is really $185 and raised the price of service. I guess I felt pressured since it was installed and working so I paid the bill, only to find the exact model was $43 on Amazon. They offered stories that their thermostats a are unique and 1 digit different in part/serial or model number so that's why they are so expensive. This is a low-end, no feature thermostat. I believe this was like a bait and switch. I believe I was pressured after being left without an option and taken advantage of due to my age and retirement status. This seems deceptive and inappropriate business practices to charge almost 5x the cost, but also misrepresent the cost then change it (raise it) after install.

The coil was replaced on 5/8/17 and the guys that came was out was told just to replace the coil. Now on 6/21/17 my air had problems again. This time I called another company. I found out my pipes was never checked that goes outside my Arties this caused the water to back flow into my house causing damage to my carpet and floors. I will never use Arties again and they need to pay for my damages to my home. This could have all been avoided if they checked correctly the first, second and third time they came out.

They did a real good job. He was on time. I didn't have any complaints with him. I have been using him for ten years. He did an outstanding job. I won't use anybody else.

I was aware of the company based on the outstanding reputation it has in the community and first hand accounts of service performed from friends.
