Description of Work: Smith refinished a table and repaired an antique chair and an antique settee. The settee repair was truly challenging, and one of the legs had a serious and ugly fracture, which Smith repaired in an inventive fashion and with beautiful results. I cannot recommend their services highly enough.

 + 1 moreColin did a beautiful job with the window seat, it is amazing. There is such quality in his work. He did exactly as promised and was a true professional. Both Colin and his wife Pam were so helpful in putting my vision on paper and building the perfect window seat. He is a master craftsman who was always on time and cleaned up the area when finished. Colin and Pam are professional and truly very nice people. I am saving for my next project and hope to utilize his services again and again the near future! Before and after pictures of my beautiful window seat.
Description of Work: Completely finished the inside of a newly installed window which included sheet rock, wall texturing, painting, making and installing window trim and he designed, built and installed a large window seat.

 + 1 moreI first contacted Colin Smith before we'd even gotten a house and received our furniture from long-term storage. After we got the furniture in December, it took a little while for him to finish up existing commitments, but he picked up the pieces (including four I hadn't discussed with him earlier), got the work done, got the pieces back to us, and reassembled the dining table VERY quickly--and at a price well below two quotes we'd gotten for just the table legs in Arizona. I am very, very pleased! With the reinforcements, the furniture is even more stable than when new.

 + -1 moreHe did a fantastic job as usual. What I bring are small jobs that I am not in a hurry to have completed. He works on my little jobs when the big job needs to sit for a while after gluing or painting. I have looked at the big jobs he is doing and the work is excellent. I would highly recommend him for small or large jobs.
Description of Work: I have used Smith Ent. for several small repairs to wooden items that had gotten damaged. Each time he has gone beyond my expectations and done a little extra at no additional cost. This last job was to install a new leather seat in an antique rocker and also to tighten up the joints and do some superficial surface repair.

He knows his craft and his suggestions really convinced me of his professional abilities. We also discussed his fees and so there were absolutely no surprise there. Without hesitation I would recommend his services.

 + -1 moreThe work is very high quality. I would recommend this provider for artisan quality work. The quality of the workmanship was likely beyond the age and quality of the piece of furniture. The furniture had sentimental value and the quality was greatly appreciated. The cost was probably more than the piece is worth; glad to have it for sentimental reasons.

 + 0 moreThey took off the upholstered parts and saved them for the upholsterer. They repaired all loose joints. The table top was a bleached mahogany veneer, which had been sanded down and refinished improperly in the past. Colin Smith purchased new veneer, bleached it to match, and installed the inlaid pattern. The pieces are lighter in color, matching my memory of the originals. The work was done in a timely manner. Extra services included picking up the furniture and dropping it at the upholsterer. Pictures were also taken. It was a pleasure to have work done by people who are passionate about what they do! I am very happy to have these pieces in the condition in which my parents bought them.

Description of Work: I had an idea in mind for a railing/balustrade for our ranch house/guest house stairway. It was a rough idea and Colin took it and he and Alek Forsythe who assisted w/the project came up with the gorgeous wagonwheel balustrade that is pictured on his website. I and the whole family absolutely love it. I cannot put into words just how gorgeous it is but it lifts my heart each time I view it and really "makes" that living area. I will use them both for future ranch construction projects as they were the everything a person looks for in the way of talent,service,price and professionalism. Great Job!!!!

 + 0 moreI'm so pleased with my new bathroom that after the first of the year, I'm having my kitchen counters redone with granite tops..Smith Enterprises is definitely getting the job.
Description of Work: My bathroom was 40 years old and as I was having problems climbing in and out of the tub due to hip surgery, I decided to have a walkin shower and new vanity installed. I contacted Smith Enterprises and he gave an estimate of the cost which I thought was fair..BUT this turned into a major project. When he took the tub out he noticed the mold and rotted wood underneath as it had been leaking for some time..he said it was a miracle the tub hadn't fallen thru. He had to pull the floor up and install new plumbing..what a job!. He replaced the floor and covered it with vinyl flooring, installed a walkin shower, installed a ceramic top vanity, and a wall cabinet. He had removed all the old wallpaper and painted the walls a soft dusky pink..a beautiful mirror and 3-light fixture made the job complete..I have a beautiful bahroom now.

Description of Work: Colin Smith made a lovely frame for my husband's fllag and medals. On the bottom of the frame he made another area, lined in red, which held his dog tags and Navy pins...very original..and everyone that sees it remarks about how beautiful it is. Description of Work: I asked him to make a case for my husband's flag which was presented to me after his death. I got a beautiful walnut case with a glass insert on the bottom which contained his medals and dog tags..absolutely awesome. Everyone who sees it remarks its one-of-a-kind and priceless.
