Do not hire this organization! Various things occurred during this remodeling process including not hanging drop cloths around drywall repair area resulting in subsequent dust all over house that cannot be vacuumed or cleaned off. Second, they were in a hurry to get the final check and missed many things including lack of paint in many areas of trim, yard left full of small nails and debris, and walls not textured or painted properly leaving many irregularities in painting on walls. Lastly, this remodel was done on my 90 year old mother's home due to original water leak under kitcgen sink. They didn't properly cap off a line under kitchen sink and now for last week and a half my mom has had to place a large bowel under sink and empty it several times a day. Ben, the owner, said they would be out last week to make the repair but no response. I have even tried calling him 5-6 times since last week and only one time did he answer and that was last week to say he would be by "sometime" late last week. Again, no communication and no response and $14,120 later my 90 year old Mom is left with a shoddy kitchen remodel and a job that exemplifies extremely poor workmanship.

First: I have no problem with the quality of the work the subs did, and if you can live with what I am about to convey, then go for it. What started out as a really good working relationship, sadly did not end that way. In fact, early on, we both commented back and forth how easy the other was to work with. But as the project continued, we saw less and less of Ben. So I kinda became the assistant contractor dealing with his subs. You as the owner have to be available. I had to answer questions his subs had, and had to ask Ben several times to bring items to the jobsite to move it forward. Several times he said he has be here and then never showed. I asked him several times to clean up the job site of leftover lumber and a broken ladder. He replied he would take care of it. Every single time he asked me for a draw on a phase of construction, I provided him a check. I did keep a list but not a running total, except toward the end. My fault. Then I ran the numbers and discovered I had actually overpaid him by almost $500. I advised him of this, never dreaming he would over charge me, yet he came back for another draw, at which time I told him he actually owed me a refund. He had no clue I suppose. From that point forward, he ghosted me- nothing. And the lumber and broken ladder, well they were still lying beside the newly constructed garage. He has just abandoned the project. Do not be fooled by the friendly handshake and his politeness. When you refuse to acknowledge you owe a customer a refund, is not like like, well you know exactly what it is? His subs do quality work, but as a general contractor, he lacks in managerial skills. You don't just abandon a job upon completion and leave materials on the jobsite. (BTW, Kerrville recycling paid me $5 for the aluminum ladder.) Finally...my wife reminded me that I had intended to give him a cash bonus of $1000 upon completion...guess in the end, he saved me over $500.

I had my bathroom redone and Ben was very professional. He listened to what I wanted and did it for a very good price. I had a leak a few months later and he took care of it quickly.

Matt Saner built a screened-in patio and deck for my house. I appreciated his suggestions, several of which were incorporated into the project. The patio and deck look great and blend with the style and color of the house. He was responsive and professional. I would recommend Legacy Contracting.

On the morning the job was done, the owner came to collect the other half of the money. He then informed me that he "forgot" to add taxes to the amount. This cost me another $1070. He would not have gotten the job if this had been his bid. I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. I gave him well over two weeks to make it up to me and he has not communicated with me to make this right. Now I am concerned about warranty issues. If I have an issue with the work, I am concerned that he won't uphold his end of the warranty. Also, he scheduled the porch rebuild at the same time as replacing the roof. This made for a pretty stressful situation. It would have been better to rebuild and extend the porch, then replace the roof. He was barely on site and I had to oversee both sets of subs. There were some things being done wrong and I had to stop them from happening, call Benjamin Saner, and overall be his supervisor on-site. Not how it should have been. After Ben ambushed us on the forgotten sales tax, he assured me the cleanup would happen the next day. It took several communications to get that handled. Unnecessary. After stewing about the extra charge for tax, I gave him several weeks to make it right. He told me he would call. He hasn't called. I feel that we were taken advantage of with this contractor. He professes to be a professional, but his convenient forgetting to add sales tax to his bid leads me to believe he isn't a professional. At worse, a bit of a con man. I think I will attempt to recoup my money with a claim to small claims court.
