Chad helped with a remodel to the front of my home. He was great from start to finish. I wanted to give the HOME an updated look on my 2 story home in a picky gated community--- Chad did such a good job that it looked like the house was built that way--- didn't look like an "update" or tacky "add on"... super Happy-- Ann Pruitt -- Keller, Texas 76248

Steve,
made two visits to our house to understand what we wanted. we asked him about the plants and he was very understanding and took all the time we needed. he was also willing to work with the sprinkler company we picked out (Moore Sprinklers) they informed me that he would start on Tuesday and that it might take 3 days to complete the job. Steve suggested more plants to fill in the extended bed we had him put into the design after the drawings we completed and need to have him come back with additional grass to fill in some more bald spots.  He was very understanding of everything we wanted

July 17, 2013, I emailed him asking if he had anything done. July 28, 2013, he explained he had been sick and was looking forward to getting my plans done. I have not received plans and felt it was not worth my time to continue to try and beg for the plans to be done.

At one point Chad complained about Angie's List making him do the Big Deal and how he makes no money by doing them. But, I continue to see Big Deals offered by him, and see complaints that he doesn't do the ones he has already promised.

We received one call from the provider. We tried calling back several times and left several messages as well as emails through Angie's List. Long story short, we lost $249.

The proposed cost for the job was much higher than anticipated, but it was a fair estimate nonetheless.  Furthermore, the gentleman put forth a good effort and did a quality job with the designs.

Purchased a Big Deal coupon for a kitchen design.  A decent plan was provided, but the price to execute the plan too high and we didn't use the contactor.

Swanson Renovation presented me with a good design, but utimately I couldn't afford the design that developed.

It took at least 2 email and 2 voice mail messages to finally get Chad Swanson to respond regarding setting an appointment to redeem the Deal. Finally scheduled an appointment for him to look at our kitchen and discuss design ideas. That appointment was on March 4th. He had said it would be a 2 hour appointment but also let us know in advance that he would have to leave promptly afterward for a non-business engagement, which was fine. He was quite late arriving, and he left in a rush about an hour later...which was at least 30 minutes before he had originally told us he'd have to leave. For a designer, he didn't seem particularly engaged during our appointment. I described to him my ideas/likes for the kitchen, showed him things I liked on Houzz.com (which he had requested that I search in advance of the appointment) and showed him our recently remodeled master bathroom as examples of the type of ceramic tile and fixtures that appealed to us. Oddly, he basically contributed no ideas even though I had emphasized to him when making the appointment that I really needed someone with a a designer's eye to help me pull my various ideas together into an actual design as I am good at knowing what I like/don't like but not at conceptualizing (and he assured me he was able to do that). He took a bunch of measurements, said he would have the 3D design ready for us to look at the following week, and seemed to rush off. Since it was around Spring Break and he has children, I waited a couple of weeks before following up with him. Several emails and voice mail messages starting in late March have gone unanswered. Even worse, he has posted this Angie's Deal again at least once while not responding to our messages. I am really disappointed as I had high hopes for him to come up with a design so that I could begin coordinating having the work done in the kitchen with some other home updates we've been planning in our home. While I would love to have the design work done, I do not feel confident that Chad at this point would put in the appropriate time, thought and effort into it to create something worthwhile. I am really getting discouraged with the Angie's Big Deal offers as this is the 3rd or 4th one in a row in which the offering company either failed to respond (tub refinisher) or made it clear that Angie's Big Deal purchasers were at the bottom of their scheduling priority list. In addition to Chad Swanson, Bryant Lawn & Sprinkler also reposted their Deal (more than once, I think) at the same time they had told my husband on more than one occasion that he'd have to keep calling back to try to get an appointment because they were so busy with existing customers they did not yet know when they would start honoring the Angie's Deals (and that Deal was advertised for Spring yardwork, which needed to be done in a reasonable timeframe rather than an unknown number of weeks later when weeding and trimming would be long overdue). On a positive note, the Angie's staff members have always been very helpful and pleasant when assisting me with my refund requests. I also really appreciate that your staff is available on Saturdays. Thank you!

It was not long after purchasing the Big Deal that they sent a message that said they were overwhelmed and they would get to you when they could.  Therefore, we did not use the Big Deal.

It went well. They were really nice. They came out and gave me some really nice drawings. The estimate was a bit more than we were wanting to spend.

I found through Angie’s List.  They are in special (Angie’s specials) and so I have them come in to give us some estimate – we are doing our kitchen and they are fantastic people.  We are in the bidding process and he listens.  He stands within what we want and need.  He is just a very talented.  I probably contacted them like two weeks ago.  No final estimate yet only I have just asked them not to kinda holding enough I’m something right now but definitely we will be using them.

We had great hopes for this, despite reservations based on mixed reviews. After I purchased this deal in Feb 2013, I tried to contact Swanson to arrange a time for them to look at my place. I sent an email in April. When I didn't hear anything for a couple weeks, I called and left voicemail. After a few more weeks, I called and found that voicemail was full. I called again a few weeks later and left a message, which was never answered. I sent them an email in October saying that at this point I'd just as soon have my money back. I have still not heard from them and my deal is about to expire. Obviously, I would not recommend that anybody use these people - they issued this "Big Deal" in bad faith.

It never went anywhere because Mr Swanson never returned after the initial visit, never provided pricing or design.  I would not recommend this company to my friends or neighbors.

When I first spoke with Chad, he let me know there was a substantial wait for him to come to my home for the estimate (maybe about 8 weeks).  I was fine with that, since I was not in a hurry.  I found him on Angie's List and liked the positive reviews.  He came to my home as scheduled and took measurements, etc.  A couple of weeks later he initiated another meeting that included some HVAC, cement, and electrical guys coming out to assess, so that the quote would be legit.  So far so good.  Then things quickly fell apart.  Granted Chad apparently got very sick, but the lack of communication with anyone on his team was astounding.  I called him a number of times, and eventually called back.  At some point I was told I would have the quote in a few days, but it took longer.  When I did receive the quote, it was only for the interior cabinet and trim work, NOT the main garage project.  Moreover, the quote only had one dollar value on it, the total cost.  Nothing was broken down.  By this point substantial time had elapsed since our first meeting (maybe 2 months?).  I emailed and called Chad one last time asking when I could expect the quote for the garage project.  I was always cordial and patient with him.  Zero response.  I have to say I am surprised given all the reviews on here.  Perhaps he is too busy.  I am moving forward with the project and using Danny Morris construction.  Too bad so much time was wasted on Chad Swanson.
