Platinum Painting

We hired Platinum Painting to paint and stain the exterior of our home in May. Overall, I’d give them an “A” for painting and a “C” for staining. We had gotten three other estimates but chose Platinum Painting because they were able to schedule us when it accommodated our schedule. The communication was excellent prior to and during the project with the exception of the exterior stain color. The day of the project the crew arrived a little early and got started immediately. They were very neat and cleaned up after the project. The painting was excellent but they missed a side of a cedar post during the staining. Also, we hated the stain color they chose. I contacted the project manager immediately and he told me they would re-stain with another color and would be sure to stain the post that was missed. From that moment I felt like I got the runaround from the project manager. When I did hear from him he would give very short notice (about 18 hours) as to a date to re-do the stain. I reminded him about our schedule multiple times and would provide him potential dates and times. There were times I wouldn’t hear from the project manager for 2 weeks. It ended up taking almost 10 weeks for them to come out and re-stain. They were very neat and cleaned up but ended up missing another post and the cedar door stain was splotchy. I didn’t even contact them with this issue because I didn’t want to hassle with them for another 10 weeks. Also, no one contacted me to ask if it was done properly so my husband stained those areas. My advice is to use Platinum Painting for painting but find another company for the stain. Also, don’t pay the the entire amount until you know the job is done correctly.
