The only 'A' that Platinum Painting gets is for responsiveness and that's because of my dealing with Randy who was assigned to the project. He's extremely courteous, punctual and respectful in every dealing I've had with him. Right from the start, Randy was very clear in what could be done, and helped align expectations in how the finished job would look. Since it was existing wood with the usual grain and character, we would never get a 100% smooth finish and glaze. So, what went wrong? I think a couple of things: 1. Overshooting the timeline: They quoted 3 days as the time taken to complete the job. At the end of it all, it took close to 2 weeks. 2. Lack of Quality: The root cause was a terrible finish job of the paint which pretty much had a knock off effect on the rest of the job. On Day 2, when I came to look at the paint job, there were places that putty wasn't applied and almost NO sanding was done. They basically did the putty and sanding on about 4 doors and ignored the rest. They pretty much spray painted the entire thing without paying any attention to detail. The initial expectation was that ALL hinges would be covered so that the silver finish on the hinges would remain. That was not the case, they applied a cover to some hinges but on the rest, again, the attention to detail was so miserable that it pretty much ruined a lot of the hinges 3. Attention to Detail: Because the painters did an extremely poor job on the paint, they dragged out the rest of job too. So when it came to applying the glaze to give the cabinets an antique look, some of the doors had an even finish and some of them didn't. What made it worse was that of the 3 that were on the job, 1 of them had the skills and the other 2 were still learning or not too experienced. 4. No supervision on site: so the painters always did an uneven job and never really focused on quality. A lot of the corrections were done after I would visit and walk through the project with Randy. A strong supervisor would have easily caught a lot of the glaring quality issues. 5. Extremely poor customer service: the last straw was when I received a call from Jorge (or George), who's their Director or Operations. I've used about 4 vendors from Angie's list and this is by the far the only instance that I truly regret using Angie's list. He single highhandedly ruined the entire experience. Not only was he rude, he was aggressive for no reason. And all this from a person who was back from vacation, did not know about the poor quality of the job onsite and had the temerity to demand payment for something that wasn't even complete. During our first conversation, he even said that "this is an artistic process, so we need you to be onsite to make sure the painters are doing it right" and this is the first I even heard of this requirement. Not to mention, I was there multiple times in the week to make sure feedback was given. It just goes to show how much he knew about what was happening on the ground or how much his people communicated with him. I think the conversation with Jorge was an extremely distasteful one, because I requested that I did not want to speak with him going forward and only deal with Randy, which made him all the more defensive. I don't get it, I'm the customer. I'm paying for the job, and I got extremely poor quality. Wouldn't I have the right to want it corrected or at least deal with someone who understands the job? Because the job was quoted at $4000, I only paid $3500 till they completed the job. Even for the 'touch up' that was done, the painters showed up for 2 hours after which they stopped and said they had to be elsewhere. I get it. Every job is different, but then have the humility to accept that the job wasn't of the highest quality. I believe Randy when he says that Karl (who's the owner) believes that customer satisfaction is paramount because Randy is the one guy who was a joy to work with and truly stood for customer service. I think Platinum would do a good job, if you were onsite supervising full time or for more simpler paint jobs rather that something as specialized as this.

Platinum was the only one that would give me a quote. The other companies I tried didn't even come out. It's hard to find anybody to do any kind of painting. I mean you're really at their mercy for a couple of things they did. I was just really shocked, I called 6 or 8 places to ask them to come out to get a quote, and I only had three people come out including Platinum. One of them belonged to a friend that had raved and raved and raved about the work he did and what not and he came over and told us he wasn't too sure about his painter, he thought he had gone back on drugs again and he didn't know if he was going to be able to get a hold of him and I was like he's telling me his painters back on drugs again, but he said I think there is someone else I can get out and he's pretty good and we'll get him out here in a week and I called him six or seven times over the last few months and finally gave up on him. I have no idea if it was a fair price, my wife was nagging the shi* out of me and I was tired of being nagged. I was overall happy with what they did but she was not happy but she is awful picky. I think they over sold a little bit about what they could do, I have had people out to change the molding before and I had a lot of paint runs where they did a really poor job putting the enamel on, I asked them, I said that looks like runs on that enamel, wouldn't it be better to rip that out and replace it with new molding, he goes, oh we can sand that, you'll never see those runs. It wasn't the case at all. I didn't see them do any sanding at all on that molding whatsoever. It needed to be repaired and replaced. They could have painted it outside and they had nail downs and painted it outside and it might have cost a thousand dollars but it would have looked perfect. I got down there and got most of the paint runs, come back out and painted again, you know, they weren't happy about that, but they did so. The guy that sold it, I never saw him again. A guy come out and told me it was sold to a new owner and that they guy that sold the job was telling people stuff wasn't true. I was just happy that the wife wasn't around for that. They got done in four days and I was happy about that. They brought about 5 people the first day. There were a lot of Mexicans in the crew and I never knew who did what during the whole time. I never left so I knew who did what and I knew who did a good job and I knew who did a mediocre job and every time there was something I didn't like the way it was done, it was either done by one or two guys that were just half as*. The work I really did like was done by a couple of other guys who were really good you know but how do you rate that?, you know what I mean?, you got two good guys and then you got a couple of bad guys, so you know so. There was only one guy that was really bad, he just didn't care. He was telling me that he couldn't paint my molding in my kitchen area because he said he couldn't caulk that. It had a big gap at the bottom when he replaced the molding, he said well I can't caulk that because those floors are wood, I said those floors aren't wood it's tile, it's tile wood. He made an attempt at it but he did a really shi**y job. That was the guy that I didn't think much of, and I actually did it myself.

Very, very pleased with Platinum Painting. The team we had were the neatest, fastest, best painters I have ever hired. First, they sanded, primed, painted (brushed) and glazed our oak kitchen cabinets. We have a medium size kitchen and the job was done in a day and a half. I couldn't believe it. Of course, the paint had to finish curing for another few days, but I really thought they would be in my kitchen painting for 3 to 4 days. They understood the inconvenience of having your kitchen torn apart and were able to put several painters on the job to finish so quickly. During the sanding process (which I dreaded most) they covered everything, put up "plastic walls" and the dust really was kept to a minimum. Then they cleaned up the mess in the kitchen like no other painters I've seen! I'm also very pleased with the quality of the work. Meticulous - and I'm very picky. I've had others in the past where I've had to point out crooked doors on the cabinets (when they rehang them after painting) not these guys. They had one particular guy who spent an hour or more getting each door just perfectly aligned. I watched him when he really didn't realize I was paying attention to what he was doing. Next they tackled the outside of the house. Again, I was impressed with the prep and attention to detail. Taking down the ceiling fan blades on our covered porch (they were painting the ceiling) and the outdoor speakers - removing them completely not just covering them up. They caulked everywhere and were very thorough in making sure they got every bit of trim. Each morning during the two projects (worked out to do them concurrently) they arrived when they said they would, worked a full day, cleaned up and left things neat and tidy before leaving each night. I did get 2 bids for this work, their prices were right in line with the other bid I received. After reading multiple reviews on Angie's List I decided to go with Platinum and I'm very thankful that I did!

This is the second time I've used Platinum Painting and I could not be happier. Ben responded promptly and gave me an excellent bid for the job and work was scheduled for the following week. Ben arrived with the painters and walked through the whole job with them, explaining in detail the work to be done. The got to work right away. They took great care to cover floors and exposed areas with paper and plastic. The job was estimated to take 2 days but they finished in 1 day. They were amazing and it must be said that they all seemed to work very well together as a team. Both Ben and the project manager stopped by during the day to see how things were proceeding. Their work and their professionalism is meticulous. I would recommend Platinum Painting to anyone who wants a job well done and at a competitive price.

Sanded and repainted one wall of custom cabinets and drawers which had been recently painted by my remodeling contractor's painters (latex over oil-based enamel) and they were a mess. The work was done and looked good at the time. At Christmas I noticed that the cracks were back and the taping that they had done was peeling again. I called them in January and they came out to kook at what I was complaining about . After 2 people came out I got a call from their office that the repairs in the 3 year warranty they give. Some of the repairs I could understand not being covered but the tape peeling and coming away from the wall should be covered. Platinum has reached out to me and hopefully we will reach an agreement. Until the process is completed, ignore my previous comments. I will update when a final decision has been made? Raul and Ben from Platinum came out to look at the work and said they will do the repairs even though some of the problems are not covered by the warranty. This is what I expected and am satisfied that they do stand by the warranty the give. Since all the other work was done and I had no problems I am now removing all negative comments posted when I was upset with the initial response. Ben and Raul were very professional and wanted to keep the customer satisfied.
Description of Work: They painted and did repairs to some cracks and peeling paint.
The contractor was very patient on us while we were getting some exterior remodels completed but did not hassle us even though it took 2-3 months from the first time we agree to do the work. Once the remodel work was completed Platinum came out within 2 days and gave us a revised bid and got the work completed the next day. The work crew was very friendly and professional and I would definitely use them again for other projects.

I emailed Platinum Painting after I did some searching on Angie's list. That same day I received word that Eddie could schedule me for an estimate within the next couple days. We used a Sherwin-Williams color consultant prior to meeting Eddie, and with that consultant, we received a $50 gift card that we gave to Eddie once he gave us the estimate. Eddie, George, and Julio, the foreman all showed up on time on the first day and walked us through what they would be doing and making sure the colors we picked were correct. After the first day, they had finished the first coat on everything. They finished the entire job on day 2. When they left, the only way you'd know they were there is the different color of paint on the walls. Everything was clean as we had left it. The estimate was a little higher than I originally thought it was, but once the work was complete I felt the price was justified. I'd definitely recommend using Platinum Painting.

We went onto Angie?s List a little more than a week from Thanksgiving with a giant project and very low expectations. We needed to have heavy-grain oak wainscoating (3-4 feet high) in a stairwell painted white for better visibility for the grandparents. Who could possibly both (1) fill the grain where it wouldn?t be visible when painted, and (2) paint the stairs, in less than a week? Oh, did we mention all of the masking and the fact that we needed the risers painted white while the treads needed to remain stained? Well, we thought we?d get a couple off quotes, ask if anyone thought they could do it in time, and just suffer from some laughter when we told them we needed it done before family arrived in a week. We were, therefore, incredibly skeptical when Platinum Painting sent over a professional representative, who not only told us that they could do the job, and not only quoted us a very reasonable price, but told us they could have it ready with time to spare. Nevertheless, we gave them the go ahead. A few days later ? WOW!!! ? our wildest expectations had been exceeded. We are in total awe of the job that they did. I cannot overstate the roughness of the grain, and the number of nooks and crannies that had to be filled in and puttied over for a professional look to be achieved, and Platinum Painting did all of that, and more, in less than 4 days!!! (At this point, you may be thinking this reads like a paid-advertisement, or sponsored content, but all I can tell you is that we are the real deal and you can contact us through Angie?s List and we?ll happily do whatever we need to verify that fact). The staff was professional, and the job was incredible, we have ZERO complaints and nothing but praise. Thank you very much, Platinum Painting! Caroline and Jon.

Sanded, primed and painted a combination of existing and unfinished kitchen cabinets. Painted exterior of cabinets and inside of cabinet doors/drawers. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the work performed, and all aspects of the project. We felt we got a great value, and they exceeded our expectations. The on-site supervisor, Luis, was extremely thoughtful and thorough. He worked very well with my wife to complete the job, and took great pride in the quality of the work performed. We were also very pleased with Anthony Gomez, our sales person. His responsiveness and demeanor in meeting with us and providing an estimate was the main reason, along with price, we decided to go with Platinum painting. Platinum provided the cabinet paint, we provided the primer. This work was done in conjunction with additional work (wall and ceiling painting, wallpaper and popcorn removal), which were priced separately. However, we felt the quality and value of the kitchen cabinet painting, whose cost was much less than other quotes we received, warranted a separate review to aid those looking for similar work.

Great job with matching some of the colors we wanted. Excellent paint application. Very professional team with a good work pace during the seven days on site. Exterior and interior repairs were excellent. The only reason I give a B on quality was that after the crew left, I found the protection of the unpainted surfaces inadequate to contain all the paint drops and splatters. Still finding spots on a few places (mirrors, counter tops, furniture) and luckily no damage, only aggregation and nail wear. Staining and finish on hand rail did not dry, getting stain on hand from back side of rail a month later. I will correct it myself. I have no doubt that the crew would have resolved the issues, had I caught it during the project.

Eddie came to my house on October 20, 2015. We toured outside and inside. He then emailed his estimate to me in the time frame promised (same day). I hired him 3 days later. The work had to be rescheduled due to my travel and also rainy weather. We finally got a break and the work was completed Nov 18-20, 2015. The Platinum Painting Crew arrived on time ready to work (8 am). They work according to the scope statement (what's in writing...so make sure you understand what's in writing). They do walk through the project before work starts. The owner of the company (Jorge) who I had not met previously was present for this activity. Eddie was also present. Carlos is the crew leader and also paints. He speaks English and Spanish very well. I have an English degree and my wife has a degree in Spanish so we know. Carlos and his crew worked hard all day each day and cleaned up after themselves. Each team member was courteous and skilled. Carlos asked us to review their work each day and let him know of any issues or questions. We did that and they responded professionally. Painting your house can be a stressful experience (and we were stressed on top of that over having to put our dog down Nov 18) but these guys kept their cool. That made a huge difference for us. We are thrilled with the results. During the initial work it became clear that additional rotted wood replacement and painting was necessary. I felt that the additional costs were reasonable. I live in a 3800 sqft, two-story home and I have a separate two-story three-car garage. So there was a lot of trim to paint. My house now has the freshest look on my street. We also hired Platinum Painting to paint my home's interior walls. We're meeting with our Interior Designer and Eddie (Platinum Painting) today, so I'll write a review about that after the interior work is complete.

The person that came out was Chris but he also brought along someone he was training so I never felt I had his attention it seemed the training was the focus and not the customer. Things were fine at first Chris came in and looked at the work to be done inside. I casually mentioned some work we had done by a contractor that we were not happy with due to things being uneven and overall lack of quality of the work done. After this quick conversation Chris started saying he wanted to "set my expectations"and explained they would only be doing one coat of paint on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and I should expect the wood gran to show trough the paint. I said I would be okay with some of the texture of the wood to show but if the grain is showing a lot that is not how I hoped my cabinets would turn out. One of the bathroom vanities that would be painted was already painted unlike the others which are all stained he said he had seen the wood grain showing trough on that cabinet but when we went to look at it again, what do you know there is no wood grain showing he said this was because it had been painted with a brush not sprayed. No matter how polite or nice I was Chris treated me as though I did not know anything about painting and this was my first time getting an estimate or dealing with a contractor which is not the case. I got tired of his abrasive and disrespectful way of speaking to me. He said he would be right back with the estimate but then came back opened my front door and shouted that his system was having problems and he would need to email me the estimate. It would have been nice if he had knocked. I waited all day for the estimate but it never arrived. I called them to confirm the email and still no estimate. I called Chris and asked for the figures over the phone and after all of this the estimate is 30% higher than the estimate from two other very reputable companies. If you want to waste your time and patience call this company. If you want a company that is efficient, does what they say they will and has excellent customer service call Southern Painting. I have never written a negative review but in this case I felt I had to.

I have worked with Chris for over a decade now and have never received a negative response from an interaction between our estimator, Chris, and a homeowner. I apologize for the way you felt he interacted with you. Cabinet projects need a very high skill set and attention to detail and we feel that we need to inform and educate the homeowners on realistic expectations when it comes to such. We have extensive experience in doing it the right way, as evident from our over 98% customer satisfaction. We value, respect, and appreciate all of the homeowners we are privileged to give an estimate to.

My limited interaction with Platinum Painting was professional with the exception of them not returning my call for 9 days. I made the assumption that they were not interested in scheduling my job or they would have called me back within a reasonable time period of 1 to 2 days.
Description of Work: I requested an estimate for a job through Angie's list. I quickly received a reply and someone came to my home and provided me with an estimate. The representative was professional and the estimate was in the price range expected. After receiving two other estimates, we made our decision to call Platinum Painting to schedule the job. I left a message with the representative stating I wanted someone to return my call to discuss scheduling the job. Nine days after leaving the message, I received a return call from them asking when I wanted to schedule the job. I informed them that they never returned my call from the previous week so I contracted with another company.

Christian, the project lead, showed up on Monday afternoon and power washed the exterior of our home. Wednesday some repair work was done and supplies were dropped off. The crew arrived on Thursday, later than stated, by roughly 45 minutes to an hour. The repairs on the exterior siding were completed, everything was caulked and they began taping things off for painting. Christian and his crew did great work. Due to the high elevation of our home they were unable to complete the job in a single day. A smaller crew arrived the following day, again, later than stated. The crew completed the work, picked up all the trash, and Christian returned to walk the job and make sure we were satisfied with the work. I would definitely use Platinum Painting again. Other than the lateness, which wasn't too bad, I have zero other issues with the company. I highly recommend them.

We first met with Eddie McDaniel to discuss the scope of our project which was to paint our kitchen cabinets. We also wanted to install knobs and handles on the doors and drawers but Platinum Painting does not do that. Eddie did recommend an excellent handyman who did the work for us. The project started on time and the crew was extremely careful about protecting the areas around the kitchen. When the painting was finished, Carlos and team were diligent about making sure everything was clean and tidy. With any job like this there are places that the paint needs to be cleaned up or touched up. They cleaned everything up before they left and our kitchen looks brand new! We did need to have them return to touch up a few areas. At first it was unclear who to contact - the job supervisor or the main office - so I was a little disappointed in that, however Platinum was very easy to work with to schedule a time for the touch up at our convenience. The job was estimated to take 2 1/2 days but we allowed 4 days in our schedule. Due to factors out of Platinum's control (drying time), our job did take the 4 days we expected. I suggest that anyone planning work like this allow for more time than estimated. The company really cannot control how fast paint will dry.

Anthony Gomez was very professional, and provided us with a detailed quote and insurance paperwork They performed the work the week they said they would do it. The workers were very curtious and answered any questions we had. Being a perfectionist; after a few days, I noted some nail holes not filled in and called them. They were willing to come out and fill them but after thinking about it, I could take care of this very minor problem in a few minutes and declined their offer. The house looke beautiful and hopefully we can go another 15 years before painitng.

Really well! I contacted them and they were able to schedule a consultation almost immediately. When we scheduled with them they were able to get to us fairly quickly. They did all the work in two days allowing for the drying of the drywall and texturing. They were all incredibly nice. There was a super nice and professional job supervisor that would come and check in with me and see how the work was coming. We are very happy with the results.

We were very impressed with the professionalism of this company! From the initial in home estimate to the finished product they were in communication with us and timely. We were hesitate on whether or not to get a second coat and they were so great in providing a recommendation but also allowing us to see the walls with one coat before deciding it needed a second one. I would recommend Platinum Painting. Should we ever need painting services again, we'd probably call them again.

Anthony with Platinum Painting managed my project, including providing the original estimate to paint the exterior of my home. The trim on the chimney needed replacing as well as a few other areas. He did a very thorough job identifying what areas of the siding and trim that needed to be replaced. He even pointed out an area that two other companies completely missed and it definitely needed replacing. The scheduling process went relatively smooth and with the heaving spring rains in the DFW area, they were able to get my house done much faster than I expected. They power washed the house a few days in advance and then completed the trim work and painting all in one day. Things went pretty well with only a couple of issues that were resolved quickly by Anthony and his team. First, they cut a wire to my air conditioning unit when they were replacing the trim around the chimney. Luckily I had someone at the house who was able to determine that the A/C was no longer working. If I hadn't had someone there, I wouldn't have found the A/C issue until late that night and would likely have had to spend the night in a hot house. Fortunately, Anthony called out their A/C guy who was able to fix the wiring the same day. The second issue I had was that the painting team was not aware that they were supposed to apply 2 coats of paint. Again, I was glad someone was there and asked the crew about the 2nd coat. I called Anthony who jumped on it immediately and resolved the issue. Overall, I would recommend Platinum Painting and would definitely use them again. My only recommendation would be to have someone onsite to ensure the job is done according to your expectations and to catch any other issues such as my A/C situation. These are not uncommon challenges on a job of this type so I'm very happy with the outcome and would use Platinum Painting again!

They do really good work. They were at the higher end of the estimates we received, but they are well worth the money. They are great with communication. They even followed up with us after the work was completed to make sure we were satisfied. I highly recommend them. I have recommended them to friends and even my mother.
