Very well. What started as a small project continued to grow as we saw the professional work ethic and excellent finished product. We ended up doing our whole house. The new woodwork transformed our home into a showcase.Thank you James.

James was identified thru Angie's List based upon his previous reviews of faux wood beam installation. Previous customer was extremely pleased with James' work so he was contacted on 7-31-14 and an appointment was set for Saturday, 8-2-14. James was on time for the scheduled appointment and was instrumental in assisting with the decision making process of sizes, colors, styles, manufacturers and cost associated with the installation. After approximately 1.5 hours, we knew what we wanted and where to get it. Faux wood beams were ordered later in the day. Beams were delivered to our home on Monday, 8-11-14. James was contacted the same day and arrangements were made to install the beams the following Thursday, 8-14-14, at 9:00 AM. James and his assistant were, once again, right on time for their scheduled appointment. After some initial discussion with regards to the installation process, James went straight to work. First of all, James took the time to ensure he was protecting our furniture by laying out tarps over everything. The time and care he put into the initial preparation was indicative of the work to be performed. James took the time to carefully measure the distances between the beams and ensured the measurements were straight and aligned perfectly. Both beams and the spindle units went up flawlessly, and just as much care went into the clean-up as the initial preparations. We were extremely happy with the overall installation that James performed and think our beams look great installed. The work that James did was exceptional - not only would I recommend him to others performing the same type of work, but I'd use him again for future projects. ***Please know that the $1000 installation cost DOES NOT include the cost of the faux wood beams - that is a separate cost. ***

Called this provider and left more than one message to please call me. I also called nearly every day for a week, so my phone would have been on his cell phone. Never heard from him. Provider said he never got my messages and maybe I dialed the wrong number. When I called the number the voice mail says "this is James Walker with Cutting Edge Trim". So maybe he did not get the messages for some reason. But I did not call the wrong number.

James did an excellent job! I originally called James to get my back door replaced. I had already purchased the door from Home Depot. James suggested I replace the window on the door instead of installing a new door. I took James' advice and it saved me over $500. I wish more people were as honest as James. Instead of being about how much he could charge, he was about the best solution. I'm looking forward to working with James in the future. He's earned a lifetime customer.

I saw the idea of faux woods beams on an episode of Extreme Makeover. I love the look of beams but was unsure of the cost. Looking at fauxwoodbeams.com, I found them affordable with the same exact appearance of real wood beams but you order them online and they are shipped from the manufacturer. The website has detailed installation instructions however considering the size of the area, I did not feel comfortable installing them myself. I wasn't even positive about how much and what exactly I should order. I knew I needed a carpenter or experienced trim professional. I saw cutting edge trim online and contacted James. I explained the job and he came over for a visit to determine the scope of work. He accepted the job even though he had not had experience with these types of beams before. We talked fees generally only because it was difficult to determine how involved the work might be. I was perfectly okay with that. James measured and told me exactly what he needs to do the job. I paid for and ordered the beams from the website and contacted him when they arrived. He was willing to work with my schedule and was on time each time. The actual job took only a day but it was a very long day for him since the job was fairly large. He did an excellent job...has an idea for detail and listened to my concerns and addressed them. I felt as though he would have done the same exact quality work as if it were his own home. I felt very comfortable with him. He came the next morning just to get a fresh look of the completed project and touch up a few areas. I am very pleased with the job and will contact him again should I do further trim work.

Amazing! We started by showing James a home that had paneling and moulding that we liked. After talking with him, he gave us a very thorough breakdown of the work and provided lots of ideas to improve it if we desired. Prior to hiring James, we talked to several other contractors and did the same walk through with them. What impressed us about James was that he was by far the most knowledgeable carpenter we talked to and he was the most genuine. With most of the other people, they came across as sales people and they didn't seem to look out for our best interests. He also was very good about following up and answering any questions we had. We found that many others simply did not return phone calls. With James, he was naturally very nice, listened to what we wanted to do, and was very helpful in providing ideas and suggestions which would better achieve what we wanted to do without damaging our checkbook. James honestly far surpassed what we expected of him. His work added way more detail and class than the example home we showed him and we get lots of compliments as soon as people walk in. We've kept his number in our address book and have already told him that we have more projects with his name on it coming soon!

James (Owner) was amazing. He tuned my mantle into an awesome new addition to our home! He created a mounting plate for my TV and rebuilt the mantle to allow for hiding wires. The side cabinets have a toy box on one side and component shelving on the other. The crown ties in to the mantle. It looks awesome! James also put me in contact with Gonzalez Pro Painting to paint to retexture a ceiling and paint two rooms. They also stained and painted the new staircase. Everything turned out excellent.

I hired the company to install 14 pre made pre stained oak wood steps with the back of the stairs, (not sure what it is called), Their was 1 piece that was already cut to size that the installer did not even measure to see where it would fit, and since the stairs vary in size from step to step it was not useable, and I had to purchase another $30.00, not tons of money still my money. I had also asked the installer to cut a straight line across the flooring at the top of the stair's so a edge could be installed. When I actually went to install the edge the line in is starts off o.k. on one side then gets smaller, hence not a straight line. The installer also purchase chaulk that he put at the edge of the stairs where he cut shorter than he should have, well since the chalk is not on each stair it looks really bad. I had put off the project waiting to find someone to do it correctly, because the steps are costly, now I lost the money I spent on the stairs plus the cost of installation. What a waste of $1000.00.

We were pleased with them. They were good. They did what they're supposed to do. Our expectations were met.

They were very prompt and very courteous. The price was good, and they did a good job. They coated it quickly and replaced it quickly.

The install of the crown molding went very smoothly and quickly. The finish product looks great. I would use this company again.

I took out all the doors, jambs and trim of my house and am upgrading. However, I didn't have the time to install the doors myself, so I hired Cutting Edge Trim. They were fast, did great work, kept it clean, and were very friendly. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again. When I realized I didn't have the time to install the doors, I called Cutting Edge Trim to help. James came over right away to look at the house and give me an estimate. I had all the doorways down to just the frame, and I needed him to install 12 prehung doors with trim, 6 casings, and reverse the swing on my back door so it would swing outside instead of into the house. We talked about a few things and he used his years of experience to help explain how he would do everything. He sent me an estimate at a great price and we scheduled the work about a week out. In the meantime, I purchased the doors, casings, and trim from Resdoor in Fort Worth. When they were delivered, I primed and painted everything so they would be ready when James came to work. He and his son showed up in the morning and got straight to work. He used his experience and knew exactly what would be best for all the doors. They worked while I was at work, installing everything. They did all 18 doors and casings and trim in one day, and needed one more day to reverse the porch door. During the work, he kept everything very clean. James was extremely friendly and communicated well, texting any questions to me while I was at work (my preferred method). When done, he quickly emailed an invoice. Cutting Edge Trim did a great job. They're very skilled and I definitely trust them. Any sort of wood work, I will definitely hire him again, and I highly recommend him to everyone else. Thanks for the great work!
