We just purchased the 20yr old home and the chimney was in need of cleaning. Did not know about the prevoius owners use of chimney. I called Jim (The Chimney Dr.) and scheduled an appointment for the same day that afternoon. A young man named John showed up on time and was very professional. He took time to walk me through proper operation of the chimney. He came in and cleaned as required. No unnecessary upselling. I was very pleased.

I travel all the time so I had to coordinate everything on the phone and have a friend let the guy into my house but everything works now and was very happy with the service.

Last year, I noticed my fireplace was belching smoke back inside of the house everytime I burned a wood fire. After 10 years, I guess that was my hint it needed to be swept...for the first time ever! I found Chimney Doctor here on Angie's List and selected them because he was practically up the road from me and after talking to the owner on the phone, I found him to be very personable and his schedule accomodating to mine i.e. the next day (they have Saturday openings as well.) A day later, Jim and Mike showed up exactly when they said they would and got to work scrubbing out 10 years worth of soot build up. It took about 45 minutes and they cleaned up the area to better than before. They were very careful not to bump or slam their vacuum or tools in to the walls or furniture so not to smudge dirt on them. Jim inspected the chimney from outside and gave me the thumbs up that it was in good shape too. A few days later, I was pleasantly surprised when I went out to my mailbox and found a "Thank You" card from the company; signed by the owner. I find these small touches build loyalty between businesses and customers. I have since recommended Chimney Doctor to a couple of my friends.

This was the first time I used this company. They were neat, early and left no mess. I have even recommend this company to my neighbors.

Just moved into the house and the chimney was filthy. Jim was on time, inspected my chimney, explained what he saw thoroughly, and answered all my questions. Cleaned the chimney. Was very clean and left no mess on the carpet. Highly recommended.

I had just moved into the house and was unsure how often the chimney was used. I searched around (before discovering Angie's List) and found Jim. He was a little pricey (although I forgot about the coupon on his website). He went up on the roof to inspect and also spent a little time with me to explain how my chimney is designed. It's hard to tell whether or not he completed the job entirely, since I know absolutely nothing about chimneys and do not know how to inspect myself. All I can do is assume he did as he should. Someone had mentioned how dirty he is. Well what would you expect? Ha ha. Maybe you should offer him your shower before he started work? Just an idea. I wouldn't hold it against him. He most likely doesn't have the ability to drive all the way out to Keller and clean up after each visit throughout the rest of the metroplex. Overall, I think he did a good job.

They are on time and they answer all questions as thoroughly as possible.

Cleaned chimney and repaired firebox, but did not go on roof to check out chimney or chimney cricket, which is in disrepair. Said we need to hire a roofer for that job.

Mr. Boyle arrived on time, completed the work very quickly and professionally, and reported on the condition of the fireplace.

MR. BOYLE WAS VERY PROMPT. HE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS A VERY LONG TIME AND IS QUITE KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE TOOK HIS TIME AND COVERED EVERYTHING INSIDE THE HOUSE SURROUNDING THE FIREPLACE AND CLEANED UP METICULOUSLY WHEN FINISHED. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES.
