Poorly handled. When I logged a complaint with the BBB the company finally responded, but they refused to acknowledge their wrong, they said they "cannot guarantee scheduled cleaning times" which makes no sense in a service company and that I should have accepted the one alternative date and time they did offer via an email that I had to initiate. They also refused to refund me the "Sales Tax" they stole from me. Lastly, they are impossible to get a hold of. This company at best has TERRIBLE service at worst is a total scam supported by deal-a-day sites more particularly LivingSocial. Description of Work: I scheduled a cleaning with this company on Dec 7th just prior to a major event that was scheduled in my home. After 5 calls to an unanswered phone line (and five voicemails left) to confirm the appointment, the did not show up or contact me at all to let me know that they would not be coming (no email, call, or system message). I took a day off of work, and had guests coming and this completely was unprofessional. I finally was able to email someone through the online "contact us for a quote" page. The girl who responded an "account manager" told me the cleaners scheduled never "response" and that I should email her as their phone lines are "busy all day," which I knew to mean they never answer their phones. After pressing her on re-scheduling for a time prior to my event, she said she could only re-schedule for Monday (after my event), which I could not do, since I had already taken Friday off of work. Now she will not return my emails and I cannot get the service re-scheduled. They would not refund my money as I bought it through LivingSocial but they did charge me ~$8 in sales tax that has yet to be returned to me even though they never performed the service. This whole business seems like a scam. They run deals on LivingSocial and then fail to honor them. It is especially shady that they do not have a working phone system. It direct your to leave a voicemail that will be followed up, but never is.

I purchased a Living Social voucher on 6/21/2012 and I have tried to schedule an appt with them several times but have been unsuccessful. When I attempt to schedule an appt online after selecting "living social voucher", it would not provide any dates, and when I tried as if I were paying out of pocket, the dates were 6 + weeks out. I have called the number provided multiple times with no answer and no return calls. I even went to the address on their site and it was a "Mail/ shipping / post office box store" in a strip mall! I even asked the clerk if they had ever heard of "Golden Maid" and he said he had not. He even looked up the name on the computer to see if maybe they had a P.O box and he found nothing. I sent an email on their website 2 months, saying I was a customer trying to schedule an appointment but was having difficulty doing so online...and no response. Finally, after sending another email on their site, 2 weeks ago, I get this response from "Sofia": Our company has recently been revamped to improve efficiency and to provide better service to our customers, We have a new management team and we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this might cost you.Our schedule are now open please go back to our website and book your new appointment or reschedule. LivingSocial available dates for booking are only Monday of each week of the month. So I just tried to schedule an appointment and now its asking for my credit card info and trying to charge me $4.12. So I noticed the had "Angie's List" towards the bottom of their home page and I was not too shocked to find several poor reviews! I'm just surprised that some people have actually been able to make appts!

Description of Work: I purchased a Deep Cleaning coupon for my sister from Living Social. A deep cleaning has no time restrictions.....they are to stay for as long as it takes to complete the work. Tracy and her assistant arrived on time. this is the only positive thing I can say that' s positive. After 1-1/2 hours, Tracy called out to me to say they were finished. I couldn't believe that a thorough cleaning could be done in that amount of time. Checking the main bathroom, the toilette was filthy! Tracy, who was standing over me, admitted that she had not touched this bathrooms. I continued to the powder room where, again the toilette had not been cleaned. She again admits not cleaning anything in there either. The vacuum they brought was spitting out dirt rather than picking it up. They were ready to leave my home with the rugs dirtier than when they arrived. There is much more to but the best I can say is that this company doesn't even provide a basic cleaning and has no idea of what a deep cleaning involves. I purchased their house cleaning service on Livingsocial. When I called to schedule my service, I had to schedule it about 5 weeks out because they were all booked up. The day of my scheduled service, no one showed up. I called twice that day. I was asked for my phone number & told someone would call me. No one called. I called again the next day. I was again asked for my phone number & was told a manager would call me. I told them that I needed a call that day or I was going to ask for a refund. Still no one has called me. The above speaks for itself. This is a very unprofessional company. Furthermore, I had to argue with Livingsocial to get my refund.
Description of Work: They were supposed to clean my house, but did not show up for their appointment time. They did not call - just didn't show up.

The maids were on time and did a good job cleaning . My wife was happy with them and liked there cleaning style. Especially cleaning all our house blinds was a plus. I am grading them B on quality because the Maid told us that the time we paid has expired and they did not do nothing to the laundry room. So overall I was happy with the job because it was nice seeing my wife happy.

When I called, I talked to a young lady, Lorena. She is the customer service specialist with the Golden Maid. I had been out of town for four months so the house was closed up and dirty. We did a walk through and she told me what she would do and I let her know what I was wanting done. This was personable and pleasant. She scheduled a meeting for Saturday, 7AM. She showed up on time, with a helper. They worked for three hours before I left. My husband stayed home. They were doing a good job while I was home. When I returned they had finished and I did my own walk through to see how they did. On a scale of 1-10, they did an 8 in the kitchen. They missed a couple of things but i was not unhappy about the job. The guest bedroom was done very well, and I was pleased. The helper did the living room and I noticed the carpet had not been cleaned to the fullest. Crumbs were left on the floor, along with poperie pebbles. The tops of the tables were not cleaned very well. The office was done adequately, satisfied. The guest bathroom's tub was not cleaned and behind the door was not cleaned. I know this because I noticed a dead bug before the cleaning started and it was still there when I returned. The master bedroom bed side table had exposed dust. They did not wash the door paneling in the bathroom. Also, did not clean the shower. I expect to get what I had asked for and what I paid for, which was detailed cleaning. Lorena called back that following Monday to follow up, which I thought was really nice. Lorena said she would come that evening at 6PM to check what was missed. She never showed and never called back.
Description of Work: The Golden Maid came to my house to clean all bedrooms. Lorena came and did a walk through with me to get an idea of what I wanted done.

Since house cleaning is a very personalized and subjective service, we conduct a walk-through with each and every customer as soon as the service is performed. During the walk-through, our Maids are show areas that do not meet our customer needs, and in the member's case--everything was completed to her husband's satisfaction; since the member was not home to conduct a walk-through. Our Maids performed the service to standard and left the house cleaned. After 48 hours, I received a call from the member stating how unsatisfied she was with our services. Unfortunately, after 48 hours, we cannot return to a home to clean since dust, dirt, and debris begin to accumulate immediately after cleaning services are performed. I did apologize to the member and explained to her that she did have a copy of our terms and conditions in which she signed prior to the cleaning acknowledging her understanding of this potential situation. Unfortunately, cleaning is an extremely subjective service and in our industry, we have made every effort and attempt to understand each and every customer’s needs prior to each cleaning. As for the member, if she or her husband informed us of these issues during her walk-through, we would have taken care of her needs immediately and she would have been covered by our service guarantee program. Since all needs were met, she voided her warranty and unfortunately, we cannot re-send maids to re-do satisfactory completed homes. She was a great customer and we thanked her for trusting The Golden Maid with her house cleaning needs.
