Texan Roofing is a family owned and operated business located in the heart of Katy, TX. We began helping homeowners with reroofs and roof repair projects in 2005. We service Houston and ALL surrounding areas. We are a MasterElite GAF roofing contractor, so we can offer the best material and leak free warranties in the industry from the top rated manufacturer of roofing materials....GAF.
We are dedicated to customer service, honesty, communication, and always treating our customers like family.
Texan Roofing will not honor what they write in your contract. I contacted Texan Roofing, at 403 W Grand Parkway S Access Rd, Unit R, Katy, TX 77494, for a roof replacement. The owner, Tim Kana, walked my roof and gave me his estimate on a contract. At a subsequent appointment, the details of the work were discussed, in person and Tim Kana understood and wrote everything that I required in my contract and signed it. The materials were delivered the morning of the work, but the drip edge material was not the one specified in the contract. The application of the shingles was not applied with the contracted Texas Wind Code required 6 nails per shingles, even after I contacted Tim Kana during the application. The application of the drip edge was not nailed into the wood decking in many places. The mis-aligned starter strip adhesion will not stick down and will thus fail to meet GAF requirements. The ridge vents were incorrectly installed with mis-matching pieces, exposed nail heads. and ragged roof caps. His workers caused damage to my existing aluminum facia board covers which was not repaired, even though Tim Kana specifically agreed, in his writing, on our contract that he would be responsible for any of that damage. Post installation, Tim Kana was presented with pictured proof of before and after damages to my existing aluminum facia, showing new nails from his crew's nail guns, damaging my facia. Subsequent requests to address problems were only met with profanity and Tim Kana would not honor what he wrote in our contract. All-in-all, the specified installation and resulting quality of work was poor, so and I doubt the GAF warrantee will be honored on this Texan Roofing installation. The written Texan Roofing contract warrantee is not worth the paper it is written on and will not be honored. Avoid. Your response is, untruthful, as your words and actions have been in the past. When you respond "My roofers are 100% sure that the fascia damage you are mad at wasn’t caused by them", they were only afraid for their jobs. I have audio of your crew foreman admitting that they caused the facia damage with their nail guns, and could fix it, but you remain in denial. The pictured damage was presented to you the following day after your crew left near dark. I sent you a certified letter that you avoided, like a summons. I showed time stamped pictures of my facia before and after showing damage from new nails matching your nail guns, presented to you in my BBB complaint. Its criminal when you do not abide by what you write into your customers roofing contracts. When you deny the pictured facts, it only confirms your poor reputation. No one should trust Texan Roofing and Tim Kana to modify their home when he will not honor their written contracts and you do not know what you will be paying. The facts are irrefutable. Potential customers should take note of the way you run your roofing business and that you did not and may not honor your future written contracts for installation or warrantee. You will regret using Texan Roofing and Tim Kana

I submitted an online request for a quote. Let me first say I absolutely hate doing online requests that ask for your phone number. It never fails to put you on an annoying sales list with harassing phone calls. Well guess what, it finally failed! Brian Carpenter with Texan Roofing respected my wishes and contacted me first via email (they actually ask preferred method of contact). After a pleasant email exchange describing my roofing needs Mr. Carpenter asked for permission to call me. Blown away is an understatement. I mean seriously, I am actually being treated like a living, breathing human customer. All jokes aside its greatly appreciated to have your preferences respected. So Mr. Carpenter calls up and the conversation continues. My wife (the decision maker) is listening into our conversation and I could tell she was impressed with his vast knowledge and straight forward comments. We make arrangements for Brian (yes by now we were on first name basis) to come out and inspect the roof. Hang up and the first words out of my wife’s mouth were “we are going with that guy; I don’t care what it costs”. Now this would normally be an issue for me but the wife does have a great gut feeling. The day before the inspection Brian reaches out to confirm. Awesome, I tend to forget things because I’m getting older and I refuse to write things down because I don’t want to admit I’m getting older. Inspection day arrives, Brian sends a text letting us know he is about 30 minutes away. Communication is huge in my book if you could not tell. Brian arrives, does the inspection and confirms its best if we replace the entire roof. I’m picky, my wife and I wanted a very specific look and color. Brian showed us samples, walked us through the entire process and took his time to ensure we had no lingering questions. We picked out our scheme and signed a contract a few days later. At this point I’m expecting a delay due to supply chain or labor shortage. Nope! I was wrong again. Brian got back with me and scheduled the removal and installation for the following week, assuring me it would be complete in no more than a day and a half. Install day arrived and the workers were knocking on the door at 7 AM on the dot. I was in shock, everyone is there on time and ready to work, and work they did! My roof is not small but not gigantic either, by 9 AM they had removed the entire roof and started replacing bad decking and laying down the underlayment. So what happened to the mess created from the tear down? They were cleaning up the debris as they worked. Weird concept to keep the customer’s property clean during the roofing process. Sadly, I had to leave for work and could not enjoy the progress in person. Later that evening after the sun had set Brian called to inform me they were unable to complete the job in 1 day. They were 10 feet short on the ridge vents. Seriously? That’s the only issue? Not a problem at all. But now I’m anxious to rush home, inspect their work and strive to find something wrong. On the last roof we had replaced I was finding nails and debris for months, so I knew what to look for. I got home, pulled out the flashlight, walked around admiring their work and getting upset with myself that I could not find any debris. No crew is really this good. Well guess what, I was wrong a third time. The next morning, I woke up and did another inspection with full sunlight. The Texan Roofing crew really IS THIS GOOD! Due to the roofs age our insurance premiums were higher. I submitted pictures of the completed roof along with an invoice showing when and who did the work. My insurance agent was highly impressed with the quality of work and even mentioned I got a great deal. To have my insurance agent commend the job Texan Roofing performed made me thrilled and overly satisfied. See my wife and her gut instincts are pretty d*** good. Yes, I highly recommend Brian Carpenter and Texan Roofing for your roofing needs! Don’t believe me? Read the other reviews, then reach out to them.

Impressively Incompetent! Previous owner contracted Texan Roofing to install the roof and gutter(small section) of our house right before we purchased. Everything worked fine until water started leaking into the soffit a couple months later. I contacted Texan roofing and they could not figure out the issue. Said they would come back out to correct it but they forgot. Fast forward 6 months and water started leaking into the house from the same point. While water was leaking in my house I contacted Texan roofing and they said it would be a week before they could come by and look at it. Definitely was not a priority for them. When they inspected the tech determined that the gutter they subcontracted was installed incorrectly and caulking/flashing needed to be installed to fix the issue. They put a temporary fix but would not install flashing because "a subcontractor did it and we are not responsible." The gutter was subcontracted meaning Texan roofing got a cut and are definitely liable. As they were getting off of the roof they collapsed my gutter and said they didn't know how to fix it. Long story short there is water damage in my house and Tim Kana the owner says he is not liable since the subcontractor screwed up the installation. A company shows its true colors when a screwup happens. Good luck if you have a leak due to their work or their subcontractor. Fixing bad workmanship will not be a priority for this company and they will probably break a few more things while looking at your roof.

I chose Texan Roofing to replace my old roof because of the installation process and quality of materials they used, the experience of their company and work crew, the professionalism of my contact, Brain Carpenter and the competitive price they submitted. The installation was completed in one day and I am very satisfied with the results. I contacted 5 companies to quote on placing a new roof on my home. Brian Carpenter from Texan Roofing called me that same day I submitted the request and met with me the next day. During our meeting Brian explained in detail the process Texan Roofing uses to install not just new shingles but an entire roofing system. Prior to the meeting I had developed a list of 50 questions pertaining to the roofing installation process and to the reputation of Texan Roofing. Brian very patiently and in detail answered those questions to my satisfaction. I recommend Texan Roofing to anyone who needs a roof replacement.

Texan Roofing replaced our entire roof this week, and we were so impressed with their punctuality, friendliness, work ethic and attention to detail. There were, of course, various roofing materials scattered about our yard, but our landscaping around our home was unaffected, and at the end of each day all materials and waste were picked up. (2 day job) So far, we have not found many nails, etc. anywhere in our yard. Quite a feat! Brian was the professional with whom we had contact and took care of the price, scheduling, etc. He was easy to communicate with, quickly responded to any comments or questions and was on the job site - on the roof - to quality control and even returned after the job was completed to do minor touch up on some gutter scratches. We highly recommend Texan Roofing - great price, exemplary work ethic, and trustworthy. You won’t be disappointed - only impressed by your decision to hire them!

My roof was only 1-1/2 years old and my practice has always been to have a roofing company check my roof after a hailstorm. When Brian checked my roof, he showed pictures of some of the damage and said that he hated to tell me that I needed a new roof. I was not surprised but at the same time I was thinking ‘yeah, right’. I called my insurance company and they had an adjuster come out about a week later. Brian was also here to review the roof with the adjuster and make sure the insurance company caught all the damage. Some of the things that were different between the two companies: 1. Texan Roofing placed two layers of deck sheeting for extra protection and then the shingles. Company #1 placed only one layer of deck sheeting and then the shingles. 2. Brian came to the job site about every 3 hours to check on the progress and to review the work. I don’t remember seeing Company #1’s representative until he came to collect the check. 3. The cleanup was exceptional as they swept for nails about four times. I found no nails in the street or on my driveway. Company #1 left nails in the driveway and several nails in the street that I picked up. 4. After the roofers were done, Brian walked the property to review the roof and he also picked up some debris that was missed. He also checked the attic to ensure that the vent lines were in place. Company #1 roofers checked the attic; not the representative. 5. Brian also ensured that all ridges were vented. Company #1 did not add additional vents which they should have. 6. I also had issue with Company #1 about vents on the roof. Vents were ordered but not placed on the roof. I asked the roofers why they were not put on and he said, ‘you don’t need them’. The only venting for my attic were the soffit vents and the ridge rows. I had the representative come out and he also said I did not need them (so why did he order them?). It was my air conditioning company that noted that vents were needed. I eventually had to have the vents installed. I would highly recommend Texan Roofing and specifically Brian for your roofing needs.

Texan Roofing was just fantastic - if you get to work with Adam L. you will see why they absolutely deserve top credit. Adam was invested from the very beginning in making sure the work was done both in a timely and professional manner and he was there at every step. The work he quoted as also very reasonable and he worked with me to get it right. I was so happy/impressed with the work that I recommended him to my mom. I also plan on reaching out to him and having Texan do my roof in my main home. Fantastic job Adam!

They reviewed the roof from inside and out and - the actual leak was determined to be a bit of mortar missing under one of the upstairs windows. My brick guy fixed that. Texan suggested a maintenance visit to address some nails and vents that needed to be caulked so have scheduled that.

Texan Roofing did awesome. I worked with Russell Sikes who was incredibly responsive and professional at all times. He kept me informed throughout the process both before they arrived and as the crew was working. They did exceptional work replacing a bad job done by another contractor. It wasn't their mess, but they sure fixed it right! I wish I would have hired them in the first place... it would have saved me a lot of time and money.

Bravo and thank you to Tim Kana and Texan Roofing! From start to finish, this roof replacement was a good experience. Tim's prices were competitive, his knowledge of material was exceptional, he monitored the removal and installation throughout the process, and the cleanup was excellent. No "hard sell" tactics here... just honest information and quality workmanship. I would recommend this company for any roofing repair or major roofing work.

After the repair was complete, Humberto rang the bell and spend the time explaining what he did to fix the problem. He reviewed the photos and assured us that if the problem was not resolved he would come out again. In addition, on the next day, after an evening of additional rainfall, Humberto called to see if the roof leaked. Frankly, this was a level of service that goes above and beyond my expectation and it is truly a pleasure working with A Texan Roofing.
Description of Work: After experiencing heavy rain in the area, the recently installed roof leaked at the base of one of the Chimney's . I called Humberto at about 5 pm on Monday and he was out to the house at 10:30 am on Tuesday. He went over the leak diagnostics which included spending a significant amount of time in the Attic, all three rooms internally connected to the Chimney before going up to the roof. He spent a considerable amount of time (approx 2 hours) on the roof making the repair. He even took pictures of the damage.

Tim is an honest businessman. I had a leak on my split level roof and called him out for an estimate and potential repair. Instead of just giving me a quote and getting some extra work, Tim inspected the roof and said the roof was fine. I had recently had gutters installed by another company and they didn't properly direct the water down the lower roof and the water was finding its way under the shingles and into my master bathroom. He recommended that I get the gutter company to come back and fix it or use a gutter company he recommended. I will call on Tim for any of my future roofing needs.

We moved to a new house that needed a few roof repairs. Tim came over to give us an overall estimate for all repairs and improvements. We then decided to contract him for just the initial necessary repairs. He came himself to repair our roof, arrived on time and called ahead to let us know he was on his way. Very professional. I will use his services again for the roof improvements later on this year.

This guy is tremendous!!! He calls back right away!!!...Unheard of these days. He was recommended by our Insurance company because they said that many of the companies that they work with were only interested in "big jobs". This guy does it all though. We have a huge house and a huge roof that will need to be replaced in a few years. He is extremely qualified and was very helpful to me with all of my questions. I thought that he would not take the time to answer my questions because the job was apparently so "small" (but still causing a lot of damage to our house". However, he answered all of my questions and gave advice about how to handle replacing the roof in the next few years...we will be selling this house then...so all the "honest" help that I could get was greatly appreciated. His phone was ringing all the time that we were talking, so I know that he must be busy...but he would excuse himself, return the call and then continue to talk with me. So, for someone who can do a "big job" and then to take the time to do a "small job" was very impressive. He did the repairs on the spot. We had talked before he came so he was prepared!!!....Didn't have to have him come back!!! It hasn't rained yet, so we will have to see if he got all the leaking areas, but he assured me that he would come back if there was any problem. So,,,so far, I'm very satisfied...Not at all like the guys who told us to do it ourselves!!!
Description of Work: The owner, Tim, repaired several small leaks and caulked around three "stack vents" that were causing a lot of damage. One company came out and said that we could do the job ourselves??? Another company said that the job was too small for them.
