I called this company on June 16th and requested an appointment to estimate our home theater system, entire home speakers, adding a control unit, and WIFI. We made an appointment for June 22nd between the hours of 8am and 9am. I arranged my day so that I would be home during those two hours. I receive a telephone call at 8am with the news that they would not be able to make it here due to the rain and traffic. Of course this upset me, but I was trying to be understanding. The technician asked if it was OK to reschedule for a very early appointment on Sunday - 7am to be exact. Once again we arrange our schedules to be up and ready for SEVEN am. As I was showering at 6:40am I receive a call from the technician saying that he was at the gate to our community. I told him that our appointment was for 7 and we'd be ready at that time - I said we'd be ready in 15 minutes actually - 5 minutes sooner than we had scheduled. I asked him if that was OK...and there was silence on the phone. He had HUNG UP ON ME.....and LEFT without any indication that he was doing so. All in all I am very, very thankful because if he was indeed hired to do this work it would have been nothing but a nightmare given the service level we received prior to the job actually being done. I honestly can't believe that the two outstanding reviews really came from actual customers!!!

I did indeed show up 15 minutes early for the free estimate... after driving 47 miles and missing most of the normal Houston traffic. I buzzed her from the security gate, she indicated that I was early and to come back I said okay and she terminated the call from the little speaker outside the security gate. I left and came back 15 minutes later and the lady would not buzz me in past her security gate or talk to me over her little speaker... talk about being rude. I also called her via my phone which she did not pick up on, she let it go to voicemail with I left a friendly message on. She was the rude person to me by not letting me in past the gate or communicating to me via ger gate or the phone to give her the free estimate. As for the initial reschedule, that day was the first day of rain in Houston for almost two months, the roads were slick and accidents abounded. Estimates are free but should not jeopardize the safety of my personnel. Of course she does not care about the safety of fellow human beings as indicated by her written response. Are we all put on this planet to serve Member or to serve God? Like some Americans who have an entitlement mentality I AM the one who missed the bullet as she would have probably NOT paid me, or with a bad check or changed the terms of the contract. She is after all complaining about a free estimate to which I was early to arrive at. Look at all of my other ratings from all sources and decide who is more credible, Myself or "member".

Service was as prompt and courteous as one could ask for. Bruce was very patient and explained everything he had done. He even provided telephone support after the installation. His price was much less than those quoted by others.
Description of Work: This company installed two new LCD televisions and accompanying DVR/VCR equipment. Satellite hook-up was required and "hiding away" of wiring. In addition, all old equipment was hauled away for appropriate disposal.

It went pretty well overall. The first step was to speak with a nice lady at Preferred Technologies who acknowledged that Preferred could do the job. We discussed the particular needs for the job and the appointment time. The installers arrived about 30 minutes later than the designated time. We discussed the number of receivers and their placement. They had to return to their warehouse to swap out one of the receivers. By the time they did the install and explained the workings of the receivers and remotes, six hours had elapsed. All the Preferred Technology folks were friendly, cooperative and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Knowing I would switch to DishTV, I sought out this Angie's List company instead of having Dish dictate who the provider would be. Preferred Technologies installed the DishTV system in my home.

Description of Work: He came out and checked the satellite and discovered that the trees were blocking it. He removed it and set the new one on the roof in a new place.

The man who did our installation may have been one of the owners, and he was very knowledgeable. He arrived on time and was FAR more efficient than a company we had used in the past. He was careful with work on our roof and placed an additional dish and outdoor line with concern for how they would be least noticeable on our house. I chose this company based on their long, clean record with the BBB and could not be happier with the service I received.
Description of Work: We added 3 DirecTV receivers throughout a 2 story home, added a line to an existing DirecTV/Tivo receiver for use in recording one show while watching another, and added one final line on the outdoor patio.
