Description of Work: John Hamilton came to my home on Sunday to provide me with an estimate to clean up my yard. I had just moved into a home that had no lawn maintenance for years so it needed a lot of TLC. He agreed to rake all the leaves, trim a few branches from the trees (I had already cut most of the branches), dig out some live oak seedlings, aerate my lawn, fill holes with top soil, fertilize, trim, and haul off the leftover debris. I had originally asked for the work to be done Sunday, April 21, but he said he was in the hospital and couldn't do the work, but that he would come out and give an estimate. When he came out, he promised to do the work on Monday and would charge me $75. He asked for cash because "someone in his family had cleaned out his bank account and could really use it." I should have known better, but he seemed nice and I wanted to help him out. All I had was $100 bill. I wanted to have a lot more done to the lawn in the future so I told John to keep it as a deposit for future work. He agreed. The next day he came and mowed some of the grass and hauled off the branches. He called me at work saying there was a family emergency and that he couldn't finish. Also, that his tiller was broken so he couldn't dig out the live oak seedlings. I agreed to let him finish the next day. On Tuesday he called in the morning saying he would be out to finish. I told him I'd left some fertilizer out for him so he wouldn't have to use his. Again, I wanted to help him out. At lunch he called saying he was on another job and it was raining so he had to take a bunch of plants back and that he wasn't sure he'd have time to get to my yard. There was no rain in Houston today. Nor was there any yard work done at my house. Any and all attempts to reach John have failed. He texted that he would call after 8:30, but I've still heard nothing.
