Ryan B was professional, took his time, explained everything up front and didn't complain when he had to go swimming in our very deep attic insulation to get he new exhaust fan installed. The one thing that Mr. Sparky does differently is the a push when they arrive to do an "evaluation" of the electrical system and then coming up with a pretty comprehensive expensive list of things to do. Now, as our home burned down from an electrical fire years ago, I do appreciate the need to review the home's electrical system on a regular basis. You will find with this service that they are most definitely not the least expensive electrician our there, but they are committed to doing the work to code and giving you an upfront price with no surprises.

I think the price is in line with what everybody else charges, but I think it's pretty outrageous. They did a really fine job. It's just that I wished it didn't cost so much to have those kinds of things done. It's not really a complaint; it's just an observation. It's just out of whack, it seems to me. They came out, evaluated the needs, gave me a price, and it was in line with what everybody else was doing and I happen to feel pretty good about the electrician that came out, so I used them. The ones that I had come out gave me a bid. I felt the most comfortable with him because it seemed like he knew what he was doing and he was very believable. This was my first time using them.

Person on phone said that they do not do work in rental properties since I didn't live there. I have a lease that gives me full access for inspection and/or repairs, but they didn't bother to find that out. How else am I to get this problem fixed?

Very well. The two gentlemen were prompt and courteous. They explained the issues they found and their proposed solutions. They gave me detailed notes of the options with pricing.

The Mr Sparky electrician, Clint Bennett, arrived with hours. He began with a careful inspection. He ALWAYS followed best practices. For example, methodically putting on and removing shoe covers. He gave an open, running commentary on what he was seeing. Once he had a clear diagnosis, he recommended a temporary line to be installed by CenterPoint. Once we approved the work, he handled those details, and we had partial power restored within 12 hours. The A/C units worked after the burned out boxes were replaced. He then followed up by installing a permanent line, and again helped with CenterPoint and the city inspection. I was impressed with his knowledge, attention to detail and proactive approach to customer service.

Bill was scheduled for a certain time and showed up right on time. Work was completed very professionally. Bill explained everything being done. Showed all components as he went a long. Wore booties when entering the house as not track anything in. Very personable and easy to work with. Answered all questions. Great experience working with this company.

Clint and Carnell provided great service. We have used Mr. Sparky in the past and recommend the company. The breaker box was exposed to rain. Everything was checked, cleaned, replaced as needed. One bathroom can light was added; wiring accessed through attic then wired to existing bathroom switch. All work and clean-up completed in about 3 hours.

Ryan was simply the BEST. He was 2 minutes early. He wore booties before entering our home to avoid soiling the floors. Ryan is highly skilled. He performed the work expeditiously and as quoted. He had everything he needed on the truck. Mister Sparky/Ryan will be our electricians in the future. They're terrific.

I called Mr. Sparky to install some LED lights on the outside of my home, two garage lights and two can lights in my hallway. The process was extremely seamless. I called Mr. Sparky in the afternoon and they were able to schedule me an appointment for the very same day. I work in service, so this is a little out of the normal. I was most appreciative. The technician, Sean Simmons, was incredibly professional and friendly. I spoke with him about the work I wanted, and he gave me his thoughts. I was impressed by his knowledge. Shortly after, he wrote me a quote. The price was a bit more than what I expected to pay, however, I didn't mind considering the safety of my family and doing things the right way. Additionally, to be honest, his professionalism and seamless experience made it easy to say, yes. Once I agreed to the quote, I asked Sean how soon he could install. He said in a couple of days. I explained how my wife and I were out for Spring Break and how time is non-existent. He than called is HQ and switched things around to accommodate us. I was extremely impressed at the level of service. We left off that he would be at my house at 9:00am the next day. The job took him about 5 hours. He did an excellent job. My wife and I are beyond happy customers. Please ask for Sean. You will not be disappointed.

I do no like to write bad reviews, but I felt that I needed t write this review so that others can avoid having to learn the same lesson that I did from this experience. I called Mr Sparky after the air conditioning and heating system starting working intermittently at my house when power was restored after a neighborhood-wide power outage. I initially tried to talk to someone at the HVAC company that I have used for several years, but that company did not initially return my calls. I had checked several points in the house electrical system with a digital multimeter and found that there was no power reading at the compressor, furnace and thermostat. I requested an electrical check of the heating and a/c, expecting the electrician to know how power flows through those systems. The electrician only checked the circuits and wiring in the circuit breaker box. He did not check any points that were specific to the HVAC system. The electrician filled out an electrical inspection form in which he marked all components of the main electrical panel as having failed the inspection. He then filled out another form with estimates for the complete replacement of the circuit breaker box, at a cost of over $2800. I told the electrician that I wanted to get a second opinion, since the HVAC system was the only part of the electrical system in my house that was experiencing the problem. All other lights, appliances and electrical outlets appeared to functioning correctly. I re-checked all of the circuit breakers in the panel with the multi-meter, after the electrician left and found them all to be showing the expected 120 volts running through them, including the breakers that control the a/c compressor and furnace. I was later able to reach the HVAC company that has installed my a/c and heating systems and schedule an inspection with them. Their technician arrived and I explained what had occurred with the power outage and subsequent on-again, off-again problems with the system. He asked several specific questions about what I had tested and how I tested it. He began testing the system and noticed a problem with the control circuit panel that controls both the a/c and heating systems almost immediately. The a/c technician showed me the correct way to test each component of the HVAC system, determining that I had obtained a false reading from the compressor because I did not test it correctly. He explained why I got the readings that I did when I tested.After several minutes of testing, he said that the circuit board that controls the system had been shorted out. He obtained a replacement part and replaced the control circuit panel the next day, at a cost of $530.He even showed me the place on the circuit board in which the short had occurred. The a/c and heating systems have both worked without issue since that part was replaced. The lessons learned for me from this experience were these: Have a thorough inspection of an HVAC system by an HVAC technician, before calling in an electrician. The electrician is unlikely to have the detailed knowledge necessary to diagnose the HVAC problem, even though the system contains many electrical components. Do not blindly accept what a service technician tells you, if what they are saying does not make sense to you. Do not be afraid to get a second opinion, when confronted with a large repair bill. I gave Mr Sparky good grades for punctuality, because they showed up when they said that they would, and for cost, because they only charged $35 for the inspection. I gave them lower marks for responsiveness and professionalism, because I did not feel that the electrician asked enough questions, or made a through inspection before jumping to the conclusion that the solution to my problem was to replace the circuit breaker box. The overall grade was low because I expected a thorough electrical inspection or a list of options, and a plausible explanation for the electricians findings instead of a hasty 'up-sale' to an expensive replacement system.

I scheduled the visit for sometime between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 P.M. on a Saturday. I got a call at 7:22 A.M. saying someone could be there in an hour. I was fast asleep but since they woke me up I said okay. Seriously, who calls people at 7:22 A.M. on a weekend? The journeyman electrician was polite and professional, and did a good job. The only issue is the attempt to "up sell" things. We just bought the house which is 9 years old, and actually had a secondary inspection using a master electrician to check things out before we bought the house. When the rep arrived he did a safety inspection and offered three options. So it seemed as though some of the things that were pointed out might have been overblown or not necessary since we had a master electrician do a thorough check before we bought the house. The real issue was price. They charged $299.00 to replace a toggle light switch with a timer switch I bought at Home Depot. Actually, I bought all the parts so all the charges were for labor alone. I really didn't pay attention which was my fault because I was working on other things, but I could have added the timer myself in 3 minutes. The rep seemed real intent on wanting to replace my grounding rod with an 8 foot copper rod and tried to sell it around three times. Again, the work was good and the rep was professional, but the work wasn't any better than other companies I have used in the past. In the end, I would rather pay less for a good job done by a surly electrician than pay 2-3 times the amount for a good job done by a friendly electrician. The only reason I won't use them again is price and up-sale pressure.

Service from Mr. Sparky is top-notch. Mr. Sparky provides both e-mail and phone confirmation of the visit before and after service is performed. From my perspective, I could feel that the visit is a well-managed process. The folks at Mr. Sparky put a lot of effort and thought into the business model. Our serviceman, Lee, was friendly and experienced, and efficient. He performed a diagnosis of our main service and presented a number of options. There is some friendly up-selling going-on here, but I don't have any issues at all. For something like your home's main electrical service, it's actually very beneficial to have some knowledge of what should and could be done to improve it. Mr. Sparky offers standard packages for routine repairs, plus they offer some improvements options. We were presented (3) options, from simple to complex. I discussed the pro's / con's with the Electrician and felt he provided very fair and balanced recommendations. After we selected the service option, Lee performed the work and then presented the results to us. The remount was secure and wiring in the box was clean and without clutter. Overall - and this is particularly important with household wiring - the entire experience was Professional, with a capital P! I'd recommend Mr. Sparky and would absolutely use them in the future.

From Angie's list I was able to review the electricians for electrical needs and chose Mister Sparky based on the reviews. I had a GFI that I thought was tripping and needed to ensure that it was not something serious. I called and was warmly greeted and an appointment was scheduled and an email confirming the appointment was sent. I got a phone call from the electrician, William, thirty minutes before the appointment to ensure we were available and he was on his way. When the electrician, William arrived, he was very personal, knowledgeable and professional. We did a walk through making sure that the GFI was the problem. At my request he did a diagnostic of my entire electrical system. He found a couple of things that did not meet code but also some sockets that had some age and possible future issues. He compiled an itemized list of those items that could be fixed or not, with a cost associated with each one. I chose to fix all the items on the list to help eliminate any future issues. I was extremely pleased with the timeliness of the items being serviced, the service warranty and no interest financing that was available. Overall an excellent experience and will use their services should the need arise again and would highly recommend them.

Extremely professional and quick to respond to the call. Got the work done the same day and before nightfall. Dealt with all my questions well and my kids bugging them as they did the work inside the house. I hope I don't need them, but will use them again in the future if something else breaks.

I was planning to replace attic fan on my main house roof and install new attic fan on garage roof Called Mister Sparky Electric, got appointment and an e-mail confirmation arrives right away. Very professional. Only glitch is the day before the appointment I called again to ask if the electrician will be comfortable physically going up the roof to replace and install the fans - got reply an electrician will call back to answer my inquiry- and never got any call back. The electrician came the next morning as per scheduled. Ryan the electrician is very professional, courteous and knowledgeable on what he is supposed to do. He never got the request to contact me regarding the scope of work and admit that replacing the fan on the roof and making hole for the fan on the garage roof is beyond his work scope. We decided to cancel the work; and he waived the review charge.

I have used Mike G with Mr Sparky for several years now. He has installed chandeliers, bathroom light/fans that needed venting to the outside, a new micro-hood, a very high ceiling fan, switches, plugs, wiring and bathroom lighting. He is always prompt, courteous and explains everything in detail. There are never any hidden costs that surprise you at the end. Cleans everything when he is done. I had trouble with my micro-hood (a defect from the manufacturer with the suction) and their rep's (through Lowe's) kept re-installing it incorrectly and not on the wall mounts and saying there was nothing wrong (for the Lowe's extended warranty). He re-checked and wrote a report stating exactly what we found so I could present it to Lowe's and re-mounted it correctly each time. The cost is a little high, but they guarantee all their work. I have had consistently good service and I highly recommend them if you want the job done right.

I called early on a Saturday morning, and they had an electrician out to my house within an hour. The electrician, Tommy, was courteous and knowledgeable and inspected the electrical panel. He tightened up a loose wire and then pointed out a few problem spots and wrote up an estimate for the work. We did not choose to have any further work done that day but will not hesitate to use them in the future.

Left a message asking for a response and help with repair. Did not receive any response for 48 hours. Decided to go with another provider that replied immediately
