Mister Sparky Electrical

The electrician came out and checked out the electrical panel. I thought we needed to have some breakers replaced or something, but didn't. He figured out which GFI outlets in the garage were tied to the plugs that were not working (also GFI). The GFI outlets in the garage had tripped, causing the real issue. He showed me which GFI outlets in the garage were tied to which plugs in the house so I would know what to do if this came up again. Weird wiring design by the builder but now I know.

Called and made an appointment for the next day, the gentleman on the phone was efficient and polite. Received a call from the office when the electrician was on the way. Dan A. arrived and discussed what I wanted done. Together we put together a plan to accomplish the tasks. Dan kept me informed as he worked. Dan inspected my outdoor GFCI outlets, replaced one in the garage and one on the side of the house near our ac units. He inspected two other outside GFCI outlets. Dan installed our new Ring doorbell, a new transformer and then found our door chime was bad, so he replaced the chime. Dan pointed out a few items that need attention but could wait. I appreciate Dan getting my projects completed, and I also appreciate him taking the time to explain everything he found.

Technician diagnosed the problem and explained what needed to be done and the cost for the repair work. When he finished the lights were working properly.

Fixed it, but some needed more intensive work to be done at a later date.

Their rep there on time. I could tell by his reaction that this job was too overwhelming for him. Their pricing structure is not for big projects, so don't waste your time. Also, he stood there right in front of me and made me take a customer satisfaction survey on his phone. Makes me wonder how valid their reviews on Angie's list are. Buyer beware!

My tenant had alerted me that her front porch outlet was not working. I called Mr. Sparky and the CSR had set up a 3 way call between ourselves and my tenant and made an appointment for the following Monday for someone to come out and take a look. I believe this was a Thursday when I called. I then received a call back LATE Saturday afternoon from Mr. Sparkey cancelling the appointment because they no longer service rental units. He said that the CSR was new and wasn't aware of the policy. I was furious! A more reputable company would have made an exception since the appointment had already been set rather than leave a potential customer in the lurch over the weekend. Highly unprofessional business practice to call and cancel like that! If I ever have san electrical issue at my own home I WON'T be calling Mr. Sparky!

I was going to get a couple of quotes. But, Mister Sparky was ready to start working Saturday afternoon and the other company wasn't going to come for another week. So, I just went ahead and told them to do the job. Job was clearly done quickly and professionally. On one hand, the price seemed high, The price I had ballparked in my head was about half what it cost. And, perhaps, had I gotten more quotes I could have possibly got it for less. Yet, I do know that unfortunatly electrical work is expensive. So, maybe not. So, ultimately, it sure seemed expensive but I really can't say how the price might compare to someone else. I'm sure I won't have any problems with the work. One other potential customer gave them a bad review because they charge $49 to give an estimate. Many other companies give free estimates. But, honestly, I figure that $49 is trivial compared to the cost of the job. And perhaps by charging for estimates they have fewer "wild goose chases". In other words, by my paying to get the estimate presumably means that the cost of other people's "free" estimates aren't part of my bill.

I called for a quote and was advised that quotes were not given over the phone and that a technician would need to come out to *****. When I responded that I did not want to pay the $49 for a tech to come out because other companies were giving quotes over the phone the guy hung up on me.... customer service like that will make me ward off any company. This happend Wed 8/9 at 1:04 pm... i did not catch the guys name.... it's a real shame how quickly a company can lose business due to a rude experience.

He was too expensive. As far as I know, the quality is alright. He was late. No, I would not use him again. The biggest problem with him is, you want him to do some work and it turns around to be 2 or 3 things additional. He finds other problems.

Long and tedious process that they started in the afternoon and completed the same day late in the evening. They had additional people working so that they could finish. All were professional and polite.

Ok. Breaker that was hidden was tripped. Expensive visit for a tripped breaker but that's my fault. Tried to sell me additional services we didn't need.

They are very good, they're just expensive. There is probably less expensive ones out there, but, they're very professional, they show-up when they say they are going to show-up. They're consistent, and they're a good company, so you're going to pay a little more for that.

I got a quote from them and it was way to high. All I can really say about them is I got a quote from them and it was almost double what I ended up paying with someone else. They were prompt giving me the quote, it was just way to high. They were very responsive.

John from Mr Sparky thoroughly explained the tests they have available to try to find the problem. He explained his thinking and process behind each one (MEG testing, testing every single outlet or appliance on the circuit, testing the breaker panel) and the cost for each test. When he wasn't finding the root cause, he had two colleagues come out to consult on the job. We had him come to the house repeatedly to troubleshoot the issue until he finally figured out the cause. The other electricians just slapped a bandaid on the problem and left, while Mr Sparky really stuck it out to figure out the cause of the issue and fix that!

We were going out of town, something big the same day happened. We couldn't leave until it was resolved. They went an incredible person, and he resolved the problem. I remember being so pleased. He said if there was ever any issues, he would work it over the phone, if not, he would come out. Not bad. That was more expensive. We like them so much, we had them do more work that day.

It didn't resolved the problem, and I called them back. This was a month later. They came back out and actually found out what was wrong. It was no charge. I asked them them about it, and he said they didn't fix it the first time, so no charge today. They also did some things around the house for no charge. Nah, that is no big deal, what else you got. We told other people about them. My closest friend was having electrical problems. We told my closest friend about Mister Sparky, and she laughed, how could we use someone with the name like that. I said,well we found them on Angie's List, and how good they were. You can laugh at the name, but it was given by Angie's List. It said something.

We got 3 quotes on the job. They weren't the least expensive, but we took them based on their details of what they were going to do. They were just more cordial and upfront when they presented their quote and we were real satisfied with the work.

We were very happy with them. The price was fair because he had a trip charge and everything else in there. For punctuality he was right on the money. He was very professional. I would probably use them again. One person came to complete the service and it took about 2 hours.

Would not hire them again. They came out to fix just one plug, $200. They didn't tell me until after they did it. They charge $100 just to come out. The minimum was $250, but I needed to get it fixed. I could have done what he did I had the same equipment he used. They were slow getting here. I would not use them again, I would do it myself. By the time they got done it was $300 and some, because they charged me for the receptacle. For the plug where you plug your stuff in, the socket. They charged me for that and I could have bought it for $3 but they charged me $12. That and taxes and stuff like that it came out to $300.
