Mister Sparky Electrical

Great Experience. I may have found someone for a little less money however I feel secure that they did the job right and will stand behind the work. Electrician was on time wore a clean uniform, was polite and helpful. The price for the additional light was about what I expected. The entire job was more due to the fact he fixed unsafe wiring we did not realize existed. He cleaned up after himself. The new light looks great.

A very pleasant young man showed up on time. I asked him to quote me a price to install 2 outlets, 4 can lights and 6 speakers (which I had already purchased). It took him 2 hours (he seemed to not be in a hurry) and an over-long sales pitch to quote me $2,550 for this work. I was outraged and asked him to leave. He charged me $59 to waste 2 hours of my time. One phone call got me a fellow to install the speakers (the next day) for $280. I expect that I will have the same success with the rest of my list.

Called Mr. Sparky around 9:00am the morning of the 21st and was quoted a time of arrival between 12-3 that same afternoon. Jeremy arrived at 12:30-1:00, quoted the job and completed the work by about 2:30-3:00pm. I was very pleased with the work and would not hesitate to call Mr. Sparky again. I had tried another vendorprior to this and they quoted me a time of 9:30am the week before and they never showed and never called even after I called them again to give them a second try.

I had urgent repair need and called Mister Sparky but it was book-out on normal business hour and normal service rate. I have no choice but book after hours and rate. Yet 3 hours later Mister Sparky call and tell me normal time slot is open and can be in my house in no more then 2 hours. Of course I am glad to hear and pay the normal service rate and they they show up on time. The tech explain my repair options clearly and I go with the proper repair method just because if I choose to do it right, I will not have this issue again in next 20 years. The tech complete the work in 4 hours as promised, clean up completely and run the test through and through to make sure repair is done correctly.

Everything went well. They were on time and professional. The price was the same as their estimate.

Came at 4:00 and worked until 9:00 at night because my breaker box was in very bad condition.

Knowledgable electrician very courteous and professional. Pricing was extremely high.

Mr. Sparky arrived and informed me they were going to have to do a full inspection. I told them the home was only 2 years old, I had annual inspections done and had no known problems other than the GFI. He continued with the inspection anyways. After a considerable amount of time working on an estimate I asked what was going on and why was it taking so long??? After all, it was just a GFI. Finally a few minutes later he handed me an estimate with 3 options: Option 1 was for $2246.90 (including $184.00 for the GFI) Option 2 was for $638.00 and did NOT even include the new GFI Option 3 was for $1112.90 (including $184.00 for the GFI) I promptly asked him to leave. It was VERY obvious he was trying to take advantage of an older woman living alone. The next day I called a small local electric company who came out and replaced the GFI for $90.00 and even calked around the outlet to avoid moisture entering again. I recommend all to be very suspect of Mr. Sparky; especially, older customers and those people looking for a trust-worthy electrician for their parents.

Matt was very friendly and professional and fixed three of my problems right away. The price was a little high, but I think it is the nature of all the work being done. I feel confident that our home is safer because of the work that was done.

It took several different electricians to repair another unit of this xenon lighting a few years ago. This time I called Tony at Mr. Sparky as he'd installed a bath exhaust fan several months ago and I was impressed by his knowledge (a master electrician) and professionalism. He identified the problem quickly and replaced the two faulty transformers. Prompt, expert service!

I can't say enough about the work that Philip did for Mister Sparky at my house. He was right on time and very professional. He was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. He fixed everything that I needed and then some because he noticed some things that he saw that were wrong. He installed an over the range microwave which was a nightmare because it had been there for so long. He was careful not to damage the tile, the other appliances, etc. He also installed an outdoor ceiling fan that was very high and some switches that weren't working. As a woman who dreads dealing with service guys that are sometimes really scary, I was so relieved to see Phillip arrive on my door with a smile and a great disposition. Mister Sparky obviously hires well and prides themselves on service because this guy was so buttoned up. Congrats--well done! I would highly recommend.

The narrative below describes my first two encounters. As of Saturday Dec 1st, I had a complete change of heart. A third technician came out and resolved the matter completely! He performed the installation EXACTLY according to my request with no further cost to me. This time they sent out the A-Team! Thanks so much! BEFORE: (Sept - Nov) I asked them to install a flood light on the front of my house. The estimate I was given was way more than I expected - $700 for one light. I ended up opting for a solar light. I didn't realize at the time that it was motion-activated. That's really not what I wanted, but it was too late. To add to the frustration, the light they installed was faulty. It had been previously returned to the store they bought it from. I called them back out to see how they could resolve the problem. They gave me some new estimates which were even higher than before - another $900 and that's after a full credit for the original work!!! I just had them replace the faulty light. I'm going to have to go elsewhere to get a reasonable price for this relatively simple request!

Went great. The technician was very professional and the work was done exactly as it should have been. It's not cheap but then I have a feeling you get what you pay for!

I had electrical outage in kitchen/computer area. They were prompt, responsive, and fixed problem on the spot. I had been considering a surge protector for the whole house and their price for this was in line with what I had found in my online research for surge protectors. So I had them do that as well. I don't know how their prices compare for my electrical outage, as I did not have time to get bids. But I didn't really care either as I had to get my computer up and running again! My pricing rating has to do with the surge protector. As far as I'm concerned, they are a grade "A" for everything and I will definately use them again.

The electrician that was sent out was very polite and showed up on time. Mr Sparky charges a service fee to specify a time window - in this case $59.00. Some other companies do not charge a fee. I explained in detail what needed to be done. He also did an overall safety inpection and, of course, found some items that needed to be addressed. This is a 20 year old (very well built) house in West U so I was somewhat surprised by what he found. It took around five to six hours to do all of the work and he explained everything that he was doing as he went along. I wish that I knew that he would have to cut out my sheet rock to install the surge protector - the end product looks very raw - the surge protector was just popped into the hole below the breaker box. He also recommended several thousand dollars worth of other replacements/updates - we declined. I'll get a second opinion on those. Overall, the guy knew his stuff and was thorough and even fixed a couple of errors that other electricians made. I wish that I could say that we would use them again, but since I supplied most of the switches, after thinking about it over the weekend, the premium that we paid for this service was very high - since it is a national company - Mr Sparky must have alot of overhead that they have to cover.

Called one electrician I used before and was happy with to do this job but he was booked past the time I needed the work done. Called another in the area, person who took call said electrician would call but never did. Called Mr. Sparky ? Katy. Very pleasant initial call, set up for the next morning which was great. Was called in pm and reminded about appointment and next morning to say electrician was on the way. Rick showed up on time in marked truck and uniform. Rick was very professional. Showed him the work I wanted done and I was given a price of $1100 to run a 30amp line about 30 feet and put an RV outlet on the outside of the barn. Rick came down about $100 to $1000 when I said the price was quite high. I still though the price was very high but told him to go ahead as I needed the work done before the next week. Rick did a very nice installation job although he left a couple of knock off plates out of the breaker box next to the breaker he installed, I don?t know why. It took him about 2 hours to complete the job. Overall the installation was good, the service very good, the communication good, showing up in uniform and marked truck nice. My only complaint is the cost of the job seemed very, very high for the work done. I know I agreed to the price, quoted before the work began and I told him to go ahead but the more I thought about it the more I felt taken advantage of with the high price quote. Everything was superb about this company but I feel the price was way too high for the work I had done.

I called about 11:30am and opted for the service call between noon to 8pm. At 11:55am, I received a call that Chad, the electrician, was on his way and would be at my house in 30 minutes, which he was. He identified himself, checked the breaker box first, explained the cost for the services and showed me the rate scale in the book(per job type, not by the hour), and, once we agreed upon the services to be performed and I'd signed the agreement, he proceeded to do the installations, always checking with me first about exact location, etc. He cleaned up the work space, which I appreciated.

Chad was very professional. He explained the costs up front, was quick in diagnosing the problem, and replaced a clamp (at no charge) that he noticed that wasn't up to code. Overall, I was very satisfied and will use Mr. Sparky again!!

Called for availability and felt a little pressured into scheduling. But they were able to come at pretty much anytime. The gentlemen that came out was very professional and helpful and did a thorough and excellent job.

Miguel showed up on time and was extremely courteous from the outset. He went straight to work, explaining everything he did so that I could understand. When he went to the breaker box, he showed me what the problems were as well as how he could alleviate those problems. He gave me a couple of options for fixing them. He even gave me some tips for chandelier installation in the future so I wouldn't have a repeat problem of what caused me to call him out in the first place. When he noticed an envelope under my doormat, he pointed it out to me and I told him it was for the man who mows my lawn and stated that I was concerned I hadn't gotten my wishes expressed properly because of a language barrier. He promptly offered to call the man for me because he's bilingual and could explain what I wanted done. So, I got two problems resolved at once--my electric problems and my yard is now getting mowed at the frequency I need it mowed! All thanks to Miguel's willingness to go out of his way to be an all-around customer-service oriented professional. He was efficient, polite, and appears to have the highest standards and a great work ethic. I would call and ask to have him specifically come out to do work at my house again. He was GREAT!

With my initial call they were very responsive and understanding about the urgency of my repair. Chad, the electrician was not only completely professional but he was also friendly and made my electrical problem easy to understand. He noticed extra work that would need to be done in the future, but used a non-pushy approach and gave me an estimate for what the future cost might be. Can't recommend more highly!

All work was done to my complete satisfaction.

Overall it was a good experience and we were delighted with his mannerism and his work.

Chad was dressed appropriately, with a company shirt and ID badge. He was very polite and explained the company's pricing for each thing I asked him to do. He installed the new fixtures and returned the old ones to me. When he was finished, I thanked him and then paid him. All work was done professionally and quickly!
