Process went smoothly with a single hiccup. One shutter was damaged, so Vendor decided to return the shutter to the Manufacturer for repair. I had to wait several days, but repair was perfect and shutter is installed

Michelle was very professional and knowledgeable. She guided us through the whole process with ease and helped us choose the right option for our house. Jeremy took the measurements the same day we placed the order. We were aware that these would take 8-10 weeks to come in and sure enough, we go them right on time with installation done in about 4 hours by Brandon and Eddie. I would highly recommend Katy Blinds and Shutter!

Working with Romer was smooth and professional. Scheduled a home visit to measure and discuss options. He left several samples after narrowing down so we could compare in different lighting at various times of day. After ordering, scheduling installation was convenient and quality of product and installation was excellent.

The process went very well. The firm was quick to respond, and Romer came to my home soon after I contacted them. Then it did not take long for the blinds to be made and installed; and they look really good! I had used KB&S before, and I would definitely use them again.

From the starting point they were wonderful. The sales rep was very professional and honest. She showed us all the options and helped us find what met our needs. The installer was great as well. Doing business with Katy Blinds was a very pleasant experience, and I am a picky customer :).

They were referred to me through Costco.com. They did a great job and were on time and professional. I had a question about the operation of a very large blind and they came back immediately to examine the blind and explain its operation.

Michelle was knowledgeable and easy to work with. She was professional, punctual, polite, and personable. She gave us a great recommendation, and we followed her recommendation and was happy with it. We will use them again if we need to install blinds on our other windows.

We had them come by to review what products and services they offer, selected blinds for eleven windows, and they returned a couple of weeks later and installed them. The blinds look great and they were installed properly. We are very pleased.

As soon as we decided to buy a new house, I contacted Katy Blinds and Shutters. The salesperson was prompt in coming out to measure and quote. I asked to have the blinds installed the day we closed and they were happy to oblige. All blinds were installed by move day (except one that was cut incorrectly) which was very helpful. The shutters were installed about a week after move in. The incorrectly cut blind was installed a couple of weeks later. Overall, the service was very good and the quality and price were great.

No customer service. Made an appointment for a consultation that did not happen. Called when she was 15 minutes late and was told it would be another 45 minutes. No phone call - nothing. My time is valuable and I have better things to do than sit and wait.

Delivered a quality product in a timely manner. Installers were professional, friendly and very respectful of my home. My windows were accurately measured and the custom shades fit perfectly. They made the process pleasant and easy from beginning to end.

Professional consultation and installation. The installed product was excellent. When I changed my mind aboiut a product already installed, they worked with me to choose another product.

The shutters were installed in June 2014. Overall I was happy with the look although the paint color is a little off the previous paint color of the shutters in the front of the home which I had them install in November 2012. The salesperson was professional and responsive. My issue is with service after the install. About two months after the shutters were installed I have had two slats of the shutters fall apart. When I called about this issue Donna there main receptionist was very rude and asked "how I broke them". I described to her what happened and she seemed totally uninformed as to how shutters are made. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none was available. I have contacted them numerous times to have them come out and see what is wrong and repair them. Each time I have an appointment they reschedule me. It is impossible to coordinate with them to even come out and take a look at the damaged blinds. I spoke with a Romer on the phone and expressed my concern with the overall quality of the blinds since my previous plantation shutters installed by them have not had any issues. He said he would look into it with the manufacturer but I did not hear from Romer again. Overall I have spent over $10000 with Katy Blinds and Shutters and I feel like they could care less about their customers. The last time I spoke with them I told them I was so disappointed with their service that I would have another company come out and fix their faulty shutters. I have since done that.

We chose this company after finding it on Angie's List. Initially, we were thrilled. The rep showed up on time, was knowledgeable, and had great samples to show. We signed a contract on the spot. The installation took longer than promised, and we were not kept informed. Calls went unreturned and our reps voice mailbox was full. When the shutters were installed, I have tosay they were of the highest quality. The installers were fast and thorough. Then the real frustration began. We called back to get another window done that we had forgot about initially. It took a long time and several calls to get them out, then several more calls to get the bid ( we waited over 7 weeks just to get the quote after they measured for the window), the another 2 months and more calls to find out when it would be installed. Finally after months, it was installed, and painted the wrong color. It took more calls and weeks to get them to fix the problem. After it was finally done, they did not call for 8 weeks to get the payment. I was called several times even after repeatedly asking them to speak to my husband on this issue. We actually thought they were not going to charge us for the final shutter after all the delays, but yesterday they called, and we paid. Bottom line: the quality is superb. The prices are fair. The customer service and responsiveness are deplorable .

Kind of hard to say something good when no one returns multiple calls. Update: Communication problems resolved. Will update when everything is completed.

They were great! Did find the same blinds for a lower price so went with the other company, but it wasn't a big difference. Would not hesitate to call again in future.

When I sent a message through Angie's List Katy Blinds and Shutters responded promptly. Within a couple of days from the initial contact the appointment was set and Romer came out to measure the windows and to fully understand our desired scope. Once the bid was complete, there was some back and forth around pricing and options on the shutters/shades prior to landing on a decision. Once we opted to go with Katy blinds Romer came out again to confirm the measurements and colors. He said it would be about 2-3 weeks for the honeycomb shades and 4-6 weeks for the plantation shutters. To our surprise they called within 3 weeks to set an appointment for the installation of the shutters and shades. Needless to say, we were impressed with the service on the front end. The installation day came and the guys were right on time and were very professional and courteous while in our house. The shades and shutters were measured perfectly and look great! My disappointment came when I went to open them. We have double hung windows in our house, and I had asked Romer to install the shutters to where they would open on a 90 degree angle. We wanted the shutters installed that way so we could clean the windows on our second story. This did not happen. When I questioned, Romer said he didn't recall the conversation. I was hoping they would replace the shutters to what was discussed. To my disappointment they said there is nothing they could do, and that I could remove the shutters to open the windows. Even though we only clean the windows a couple of times a year it is a little disappointing to know that as long as we live in the house my only options is to remove the shutters. Overall we've been happy with every interaction we've had with Katy Blinds & Shutters. I would use them again, but going forward, I would be very specific (check and double check the order) before paying the deposit and placing the order.

Because the summer heat wreaks havoc on all my attempts to keep a constant temperature in my home, I ordered solar shield window shades for my upstairs rooms (10 windows). I also ordered fabric roman shades for all of my downstairs windows (8 windows) because I wanted to get rid of all the drapes. Romer Austria was very courteous and professional throughout the entire process, he kept me informed every step of the way, and there were no surprises. My window treatments were beautifully installed and are exactly what I expected. I love them so much because I'm already enjoying the end result. Beautiful window treatments and better insulation from the hot sun (much, much better than my wood shades). For anyone who is considering having new shades or blinds installed, I highly recommend that you call Mr. Romer Austria.

I first contacted Katy Blinds and Shutters based on reviews I read on Angies list. The owner, Romer Austria was kind enough to go to our house while it was under construction to measure the windows and give us a quote. It should be noted we were living out of state at the time because our old home nearby sold so quickly. I appreciated his willingness to do that despite the fact I could not meet him there and that there was no guarantee his company would ultimately get the business. We met with Romer personally after moving in and were impressed with his knowledge and courtesy. He answered all our questions about valances, how the plantation shutter paint would match our other woodwork, etc. We did have an idea of how much this work would cost after doing some on-line research and by visiting our local big box stores to check out pricing. But we elected to go with Katy Blinds and Shutters because of their more personal approach. It took several weeks for the blinds to arrive and they were installed quickly and professionally. The plantation shutters took a little longer because of their custom nature. Once installed, they look wonderful. We couldn't be happier with the overall outcome. We may have paid a small premium by using Katy Blinds and Shutters but it was worth it. I highly recommend them for your window covering needs.
