On June 29, 2010, JS Tree Service was working across the street from my house trimming some trees. I asked them if they would cut the palm tree in front of my house and how much they would charge me. They told me that because they were in the area they will charge less or $850.00. Since I do not know anything about prices for this type of work, I went under the assumption that that will include removal of the stump. When they finished and I asked why the stump remained, they told me that that was another $192.00 including three discounts. They left plastic bags behind full of pieces from the trunk of the tree that they could not fit in their truck. My daughter had to come behind and lift them and place them in the garbage cans. In addition, they left pieces of the trunk throughout the front yard for which I had to call my gardener to take care of the debris. I called another company today that they are going to remove the stump for which I will only pay $140. The man I spoke with told me that I was charged too much money for getting rid of the palm tree, that I should not have paid more than $600. In addition, I noticed that the entire crew that came to my house does speak English which led me to believe that they may not be legally documented workers thus raising the questions if something happens when they do work if they will be responsible for the damages. I will definitely not recommend this Company, they are overpriced, they do not tell you the truth as to what is included for the price, they lie about the discount amount, and they leave debris to leave debris behind.

Alex was very knowledgeable about taking care of our trees. He was broke everything down so we knew the services and the costs. The crew that came out today were very organized and they cleaned up the areas where they worked. I would recommend J & S Tree Service. They are a full tree service. When we are ready to plant a tree or two, I will be contacting J & S.

They cut down and removed a Mexican Fan palm that was very close to my fence and pool. Fantastic and careful job. They worked quickly and cleaned up completely. Highly experienced with hard working polite employees. Highly recommend them for any tree service!!!

I contacted them via HomeAdvisor on Friday, 6/19. Of course, they were super quick to respond to that. Alex came out that same day. He seemed knowledgeable, and the price seemed relatively reasonable, so I went ahead and paid the deposit. It should have been a red flag that the deposit was non-refundable and if I decided to cancel they would charge an additional 10 percent on top of that but I just wanted it done so I went with it. I was told someone would contact me to let me know when they would be out and that it would be within the next 3 days (Sat., Mon., or Tues.). No one called to let me know they were coming but they showed up Monday morning pretty early. When Alex was out we discussed what I wanted and their services. I explicitly stated that I only wanted the tree in the back (a neighbors tree) trimmed...low hanging branches removed and some sunlight coming through. I was told that only dead pieces of the branch and sucker branches were removed during a regular trimming service. I told him multiple times that I did not want the tree lopped off, only trimmed. It was (emphasis on was) a beautiful tree, it just had branches on my side of the fence nearly touching the ground and I could not grow any grass. I also told him that I only wanted a trimming service on the front tree (mostly because of cost, I could not afford both trimming and thinning). I am certainly glad I did not ask for the thinning also if I had I would have no tree left in the front yard. And, they completely ruined the tree in the back! They lopped off the entire side of the tree on my side of the fence, removing at least two large branches that in no way were dead or considered sucker branches. The tree looks terrible now, completely ruined a beautiful Oak. I am working from home and did not go outside for several hours after the work was completed because it has been raining all day. When I finally had to run by my actual office, I did not look at the tree in the back (I do not pass it, just pull out of the drive and go). Upon my return, around 4 in the afternoon, I noticed the tree. I nearly cried! I called Alex to complain about the tree being ruined. Also, they cut off a piece of my fencing. It was a small piece, but that does not matter. They damaged my fence and did not even tell me. No one has contacted me after the message I left stating I was unhappy with the work performed. I would never recommend these people, and will never use them again myself. Terrible work. They will ruin your trees!

Arrived at scheduled time, did a great job cutting down a huge tree and trimmed a large tree, and hauled everything off as agreed upon. I would recommend them.

I hired JS to perform tree trimming in my yard. They were not the cheapest, but they did a great job on the oaks which were very overgrown. My only gripe would be that they left a good amount of debris in the yard. Additionally, I was told that they would trim the other two trees in my yard but didn't do anything. Overall, very professional company, good job, some areas to improve.
