GETZ LAWN & LANDSCAPE

I contacted what I thought was "Getz Lawn and Landscape." Matt Brown answered the phone call, explaining that he purchased the phone number and the business from Jeff Getz. I set up an appointment for an estimate. Matt Brown came to our home on a Friday afternoon and took an hour of our time to collect information about our lawncare and landscaping needs. Matt asked for a map of our property, which I provided. He said he needed to come back on Monday to review our property and make sure he understood what we want to do with the landscaping. I called Monday to find out when he would be coming by. He tells me that he won't be coming over at all and that he decided to come on Tuesday instead. I asked how long it would take him to get the quote done after that. He said it would take a couple of days, which sounded reasonable to me. We never heard from him again. I called many times, starting the Friday of that week and didn't give up until about 2 more weeks had passed. I emailed him several times, but he never bothered to respond. I find it completely counter to cash-flow to turn away business you have already won because you don't want to bother to do an estimate. I am completely disappointed because I used Angie's List to contact only "A" rated companies to avoid unprofessionalism like this. A complete waste of our time.

I emailed Jeff to give me an estimate for lawn service. Jeff was extremely responsive & promptly came out to give me an estimate. He arrived exactly on time for our first meeting. He was very happy to answer all of my questions, & was willing to adapt his service to my organic methods of lawn care. His crew all speak English & in fact are friends from his school days. Unlike other companies that I interviewed, Jeff seemed most enthusiastic about the job, & I was happy to hire his company.

I called Getz Lawn care and was told that I lived out of their service area. But, they recommended another company to me which I was very satisfied with. The company was not on Angie's List but I explained to him what it was. They did a great job and was professional and courteous. I have decided to continue to use them to cut my grass.

Jeff Getz is bright, articulate, and an excellent communicator. He conducts his business above board at all times (pays workmans comp insurance, appropriately charges sales tax, declines to hire illegal workers, etc.), yet his prices are modest. He is a former Jr. High football coach, and all his workers are former players, who all speak English as their native language. He returns phone calls promptly, and arrives on time for appointments (unlike all other lawn care companies I've dealt with for over 25 years here). You can hire Jeff with total confidence.
