I've used them for many years. They do an excellent job, very professional and I would highly recommend them.

Called G & H on May 9 and within 24 hours they had two service techs at my house. One of my A/C units wasn't blowing cold air, and after about 30 minutes of performing diagnostics on the furnace and outside compressor they determined it was a loose connection and a a slight freon undercharge. The techs took time to explain the repair to me, didn't add any unnecessary parts or charges, and were extremely professional and cordial. Plus I got a $30 new customer discount. I won't hesitate to use G & H again.

One of our AC units went out, so I called GH AC around 5:30pm on Aug 5th, 2014 and left a message. Mark called me back within 1 hour while he was on his way to an important event. He was very kind and professional on the phone. He said that he would come and fix the problem then, if it weren't for the obligation, which I totally agreed. I would not miss the event for anything. However, he was with me on the phone for about 14 minutes and helped me double check a few things and see whether the problem can be easily fixed. The only reason that we did not use GH was that we needed someone to come out sooner. I would definitely call them next time when we need AC services. Thank you.

they fit us in same day we called. they were friendly and fixed the problem opposed to try and convince us we need to buy a whole new system. very pleased.

It was a routine visit with no surprises and Nick was on time for the appointment. I am very satisfied. I supplied the bleach for the drains. This was the spring visit on a 1 year service policy with the company.

They did a very good job. He has done my house several times. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my air conditioner whereas the other guy was saying that it was leaking. They do a good job. They come on time. Their price I think is a little high compared to others.

Called Nick for estimate, He came out and reviewed entire system, asked me questions. (My old system was installed by him 15yrs before) He even stated that I could repair my 15yr old system, but I wanted a new system. He gave me 2-3 different quotes based on brands and furnace replacement. His quote turned out to be the best quote from the two companies I got.Gand H and Absolute Comfort. During entire process, my phone calls and emails were answered promptly. Absolute Comfort has been pretty decent and honest in a number of prior visits, to recharge freon, but their quote as very short and I felt like not enough time was spent looking at my system. Their quoted price for the furnace was not competitive. The two installers arrived exactly on time, and conducted install professionally and cleanly. They willingly and patiently answered questions during the install process. They started at 9am and finished about 4pm. Gand H also provided a hard copy of the manuals for the A/C and furnace. There is a one year parts and labor warrantee with the entire system warranteed for 10years. In short, I was very pleased, and the a/c and heater works well, as far as I can tell so far. I had work done before I got on Angies list, so I just want to put a good word in for them. Their Honesty and Value is be rewarded.

Nick was great.. He blew out the drain lines - serviced the unit on the roof and inside house. This was a condo apartment so the roof was 2 floors up. He cleaned up the Carrier unit and checked Freon. He found a leak in the pan inside the house and recommended it be replaced...despite it was Friday afternoon, he wasn't in a rush to finish...was very thorough. He left with the model number of the pan with a promise to call with an estimate the following week. They called with the estimate to procure and install the pan. Nick came the following Friday and removed the old pan and installed the new one and made some changes in the installation to improve the drainage. He was great...cleaned up afterward, very polite and answered all of my pesky questions. I will definitely call for service and maintenance again and would recommend Nick.

This is the ONLY a/c service/ installation company we will recumbent. We have used Gand H since we installed a new energy-efficient a/c and furnace back in 2009 and wouldn't go anywhere else. They re-ran some of our existing duct-work to make the the air-flow more efficient and comfortable and created two zones in our two story house (we thought we'd need two units, so it saved us a lot of money). Mark and Allyson have always been quick to respond to our calls if we had any questions. Their techs came back out to do some minor repairs and cleanings and are always pleasant, courteous, and on-time. We recently called them to see if they serviced the Lake Conroe area because we wanted them to inspect the a/c system in a condo we bought. Unfortunately, they don't service that area, but made a recommendation that we were very happy with.

I called yesterday (Sunday) and left a message that my AC was not working. Called again first thing this morning and spoke with Allyson who told me that someone would be out first thing to repair or assess the problem. He arrived about an hour later and determined the compressor was toast. He gave me two options and prices for repair. When I approved the repair, he called the office and told me the work would be done today. I called the office a bit later to confirm the time and the Angie's List 10% senior discount. Mac arrived with the new unit within an hour of the scheduled time. The new unit is clearly better, and obviously more efficient than the one it replaced. It is also much, much quieter. I am very pleased so far. About Mac: This young man was extremely pleasant and professional in his work. The result of his efforts was a very tidy, quality, installation. To repeat, I'm very pleased with the response time, the new unit, and my contacts with the G and H personnel. They have done some work for me in the past. I was happy with them then and am happy with them now. And they are definitely the first ones I'll call in the future.

The overall service was great. They did the job I needed and didn't try to sell me anything extra.

The service man came and listened to my story regarding my problem (significantly hotter in summer or colder in winter in the master bedroom than any other room) and what I had done to address the problem. I had had additional ventilation added and additional insulation. I had had it inspected by other A/C people. He went up in the attic, saw that the exhaust duct in the master bedroom was not connected (therefore the air couldn't circulate), reconnected it and solved my problem. All for the $90.00 trip charge.

The owner, Mark, came over and did a through check of the house and saw some improvements that other companies did not notice. The quote was competitive and they also included a free year of maintaince and a 2 year labor warranty. They showed up on time and completed the work a quoted. This is a family owned operation and I felt comfortable with his workers being in my house.

Absolutely great job! We were referred to Gand H by neighbors who'd had work done by them on our street. We were already living in our new house in another city and Gand H made coordinating appointments with our representative a breeze. Excellent price and we got more than we asked for in service. Too bad they're not in the city we moved to, or we'd use them again!

They are great. I have used them for 20 years. They come when ever I call them. They call me by name. They are honest with me. They come as quickly as they can. They have even come out when they their work is done, they go above and beyond.

Excellent service. The freon was checked, valves were checked for leaks, motor amps were checked to evaluate excessive current drain. The coil was cleaned and filter checked. Clorax was used to prevent sludge building up in the drain system which could cause hundreds of dollars for ceiling repair if the drain pan over flows. This is the type of service you can expect from Gand H air conditioning and heating with or with out a service contract. The service call was $90.00. We got a 10% discount because we are Angie's List members, and 10% discount because of our service contract.

I was extremely satisfied with Gand H AC. I called on a Sunday morning and they were able to come out the same day. They charged me the normal trip fee of $90 instead of the weekend rate of $180. Mark was able to find the problem in less than 5 minutes and also showed me a preventative solution. I am extremely happy with the service performed and I will call Gand H AC for all my air conditioning needs in the future. This is a honest air conditioning company and I will recommend them to anyone needing air conditioning services.

Mark and Allyson at Gand H have a very honest and respectable business. I have been using Gand H for a few years to service my HVAC needs, and continued to use them as I changed houses. I figured it was time to change out the about 14 year old units in my house as it was coming off a lease, each was showing its age with some leaks that needed attention throughout the year. Mark indicated that we could possibly manage another year or so - in fact Gand H service had gotten the units to 14 yrs I figure - but I wanted to switch out. Mark therefore went over all the options of single and double stage, mfg quality and rebates and arrived at the best cost effective solution. Work started right away and the workers finished in two days, they had to come back to verify the gas heater was working as through the lease transition I had let the gas company to shut off the gas but Gand H came back the day after I had it back on. Units are working great and quiet...looking forward to the lower electricity bills!! Thx Mark and Allyson.

I felt very comfortable with Mark and when I called for the appointment the person answering the phone very friendly. I work shift work and Mark and staff were very considerate of that too. Everyone showed up on time on the day they were scheduled. I have two large dogs which I kept kenneled in the front of the house with me so they wouldn't bark. Everyone coming and going would always say hi to the dogs. When Mark brought lunch for his crew, pizza he told me I was welcome to have some. Being a shift worker I choose a nap on the couch instead. But thought that was nice. The crew working were friendly, and always let me know what they were doing. Having the duct work replaced is an all day job on it's own. Mark told me they would finish up around five and come back the next day to finish. He had told me originally it may take a day and a half. The crew really wanted to finish on the same day and stayed past 6 pm. to get everything done. The real test of a company is how they handle problems. One of the crew did fall and put his foot threw the ceiling, he showed me the area apologized. I was just glad he had managed not fall all the way threw. I could tell he really felt bad and he covered the hole with some plastic. He told me they would arrange for that ceiling to be fixed. Later that night I found that the cable wasn't working in my master bedroom. The crew had told me I had a mess of cable cords in the attic, years and several different providers over the years didn't surprise me. Also noticed my attic access was no longer shutting properly. The office called and told me someone would be out the next day to fix the ceiling. I waited all day and no one showed up. The office called me that evening to make sure the ceiling was fixed, and I could tell the lady calling me was a bit angry no one had showed up. She apologized and told me someone would call me soon. The contractor to fix the ceiling called back about five minutes later and apologized telling me he had a wrong phone number. Anyway he arranged for some to come out a couple of days later to accommodate my schedule. The guy did a wonderful job on the repair. Mark came back over to go over the evening to inspect the work. He gave me information on my new thermostat and even programmed it for me. He went in the attic and wasn't able to fix the problem with my cable, he told me there were so many connections he didn't want to mess up the other TV's. He told me to have the cable company come out and send him the bill. He was able to fix the problem with the attic access and showed me what happened. A very minor thing. Cable company came out and fixed my TV and didn't charge me, but I'm sure Mark would have paid if they did charge me. Now my I finally have a working AC and a new heater.Everyone I dealt with at G and H ac and heating were very friendly and I felt like I got an excellent price. They were friendly at my home and also when things didn't go 100% right. I now am a fan of my return vent in my master bedroom and Mark changed the direction of the other vent in the room to get the best possible air flow. The new unit also came with a 1 year contract to have it's summer and winter check up. Mark also did all the online stuff for me for the warranty which I really appreciate. Overall working with Mark and his crew was one of the best experiences I have ever had with contractors in my home. Glad I found them on Angies List.

We have used Gand H for over 20 years. In that time, they kept our old A/C working well past when we thought we would need a replacement. When it became clear we would have to replace it, Gand H did a great job at a reasonable price. We have recommended Gand H to many of our friends and neighbors. When we find a company that we trust, we pass it on!

After a hot night I called them 8 am following morning. They came within 2 hours and had my house cool again.

I obtained the name of Gand H A/C and Heating, Inc. from a very good friend of mine. I was searching for an HONEST and reliable Heat and Air Company to perform a system check-up and get a "second" opinion on work that had been recommended by a different company... The previous company had recommended over $1900 in work to correct items they claimed were installed improperly when my unit was replaced one year ago. I had a second opinion from another AC company and they claimed the work did not need to be accomplished... So there I was, with one company recommending work and another saying I didn't need it... I called Gand H at the recommendation of a very good friend for a third opinion and hopefully a tie-breaker. They contacted me immediately and scheduled an appointment for the very next morning. Their technician arrived on time and I explained to him I wanted him to check the system out. He did and assured me that my one year old system was working fine and in excellent condition. I then asked him to specifically check the 6 items that a different company had said were in need of replacement and correction. He looked at each and every item and assured me that they were not only not required, but that they would be a waste of money, and were not affecting the operation of my system. He took the time to explain what each item did and why my system did not need it. He had the opportunity to recommend the $1900 in work but his honesty prevailed. He did determine that I had a clogged drain line, attempted to clean it out and found that the drain was plugged where it joined my sink.... Honesty is the best policy, hard to find in a lot of service businesses, especially the Heat and Air industry. Gand H is my NEW service provider...

Very disappointed with this company. After we already had another company come out and give us a diagnosis (compressor was out) and then a hefty quote for a new unit ($1988), we called this company. At first we were impressed because they came out on a Saturday around the time they had first quoted us, so we weren't waiting all day for them. Interestingly enough, they gave a totally different diagnosis: it wasn't the compressor, but the TXV connection to the coil. This turned out to be the true cause of the problem. The young man wrote down the numbers for the part and said it would be about $300—much more affordable than that first company. But here's where things go bad: I get a call from the company, saying that the young man must have written the numbers down wrong and that they needed to send someone else out to double check them. After waiting a little longer this time (about 2 hours later), the new guy came and went in the attic. After making a phone call to his office, he tells me that the company they called no longer makes this particular part and that they need to order it from out of state—and that it probably won't come in for 2 weeks. (WHAT!) He then proceeds to give me 3 scenarios: 1) He could go ahead and order the part, and we would pay for the part, plus shipping and labor and wait the 2 weeks before it arrives, about $500; 2) He could go ahead and install a different part (some sort of coil) to fix the part, but it was not a guarantee that it would work, so we might as well look at a new unit, priced at $2300; or 3) since the government passed a law last year that pretty much states that most of the AC units are not running environmentally efficiently and would need to be upgraded in 9 years anyway, we should go ahead and look into replacing BOTH units—a cool $5300. (that was the moment my stomach fell into my feet). After picking up my brains off the floor, I thanked the man and walked him to the door. He didn't charge me for the visit, but why should he? He was looking at a potential $5300 and desperate, sweaty customer! My husband, fortunately, found a third AC company that came out and what's interesting is that, although, he agreed with the diagnosis, he said that it's an easy fix and no, we didn't have to ship it from out of state. He brought us the part the next day. AND-he also told us that our AC unit and the part we needed were still under warranty; he found this out with a simple phone call, using the serial number and model number directly on the unit. So the part was free; he only charged us $175 for the labor. Guess who is my official AC repair-person now?! Seriously, this whole experience has left me jaded when it comes to trusting the repair industry. Rather than helping out someone who needed it, I felt swindled and taking advantage of. This was a learning experience indeed; I learned to take this company off of my “REPAIRS” list.

I first called Gand H in early July because it seemed like the A/C unit was cooling the house as efficiently as it used to. At that time, they sent out one of their techs (who was able to arrive earlier than the appointed time after calling to make sure that this would be OK), who diagnosed a leak in the evaporator coil and put in two pounds of freon to fill up the system again. They indicated that it was impossible to fix the leak in the evaporator coil. They found that they evaporator coil was about 13 years old, which indicated that it was likely close to the end of its useful life anyway. They did NOT put on a hard sell for a new evaporator coil, but said that with the freon filled up again, that I could simply keep running the system until the cooling efficiency went down again, since it only took two pounds to fill it up. I decided to replace they coil, and they were able to find an exact match, which would help the replacement job go more easily. After confirming that they could find the parts they needed, they were able to schedule the job within a couple of days. Three people showed up to do the replacement, and it only took them 2-1/2 hours total to get the entire job done. This impressed me because the job started at about 2:30 p.m, and in the Houston summer heat, the longer the A/C is off, the more uncomfortable and hot your house will become. They even credited the initial freon cost against the cost of the evaporator coil replacement. Exact match on evaporator, great communication, fast replacement, credit from initial freon fill-up, no HARD SELL. I really liked these guys!

It went great. I was very pleased that they had an opening and could get to my house first thing to diagnose the problem. I am a long time customer of G and H and will continue to use them. I had purchased a spring and fall inspection contract so received a discount on the labor costs. The compressor was under warranty resulting in no charge for that or any other parts. The repair was completed and the downstairs cooled down by 4 PM.
