I moved it to a two star because the leader did apologize. However, I deserve an apology and adjusted bill from Thomas who was rude, hung up on me, and said he is the owner so there is no one else I can talk to. We will see. The move took six hours for which I paid them $1018 —$1018 to move a one bedroom to another one bedroom both buildings had elevators and were 10 miles apart—no appliances or piano. The driver was slow arriving at second location as I continued to be billed. And I even tipped them. Though I am retired and in a fixed income. This is waaay out of my budget. This feels dishonest. The entire move took too long and the company’s attitude is “blame the customer” if the experience is not good. Yes, I was upset. I was disrespected. Then overcharged for a move that usually costs almost half that. But, what is my fault is falling for the slick website. Previously, I used Roman movers for several moves. If you want a great, fast, affordable friendly move, I highly recommend them: +1 (832) 279-8405. Not Baby Huey. This is my original review, which I gave a one star. I am in the middle of a move with this company. The main office hung up on me because I told him the foreman took a 30 minute break. I told him I had clocked it and he, Thomas, began yelling at me, “What time did you clock it?” I told him I had to check my phone. I had my phone at my ear and needed to look at it. He yelled again, “You don’t even know what time!” I told him not to yell at me. Then we both began talking and he said the call was recorded. I’m glad because I want the Movers Association to hear this outrageous treatment of a customer. Then he hung up on me. Whaaaa???? I have never been more disrespected with any move. I understand it’s hot and people need a break, but movers usually take a break after everything is loaded. The foreman on the move stepped on a container and it broke. I would have dismissed it if he hadn’t said, “It was in the way!” Whaaaa???? The bright spots in an expensive and horrible move were Damian and Robert. Damian has excellent customer service skills and was kind and thoughtful. Robert was also a tireless worker. If you like being treated rudely while their hand is deep in your pocket. Also Thomas said they would not unload my furniture until I paid the balance. Whaaaa?? Pay a balance for furniture that hasn’t been unloaded??? I will let You now the outcome.

My experience with Baby Huey's Moving was top rate through and through. I had a relatively simple move from a storage unit to my home (<10 miles) and the guys showed up a bit early, got the work done very efficiently, and they really (!) took good care of my goods, especially furniture. Every piece was blanketed and protected, the loading was professionally stacked on the truck (which I thought was extra special because it would have been easy to treat my move as a throw-away and they didn't), and I liked the fellas that did the work. My interfaces with the office staff for scheduling and payment and coordination was very smooth, as well. Solid compliments to C in the office, and K, J and J that did the lifting. I couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. Cheers, Jon

I was extremely pleased with this company! I am a Realtor and have dealt with my share of moving companies and have heard plenty of nightmare stories. So I believe it's extremely important to let people know when you find a good one! They were professional, friendly, accommodating, quick and very polite. I would absolutely use their services again and actually I grabbed lots of cards and I plan on tell all my clients about them!
Description of Work: I needed a job done same day. I had started rearranging my home and got halfway through and realized I could not finish by myself. I was panicked to get things put back together by the weekend. I called, they were very friendly and were able to work with me to get it done that day!!

The two packers/loaders they sent over were so late the first day, they asked if they could start the next day. They did show up the next day in the a.m., but one of the packers/loaders (Cody was his name) had no experience packing and I had to show him how to put clothes into a wardrobe box since he just stood there and kept complaining "How can you pack these clothes"? The pod was in storage for 4 mos. and I just finished unpacking the pod in December and saw how Cody actually packed the 3 wardrobe boxes he packed. He stuffed all the clothes on the bottom of the wardrobe boxes, and threw boxes (some were empty), bottles full of liquid, clothes hangers and anything else he could find on top of my clothes in all three wardrobe boxes. All of my clothes were ruined. He clearly was not a packer which I had requested. He also did not work hard at all and only created problems, spent 25% of his time in the bathroom, 20% taking cigarette and Red Bull breaks, and the rest of the time complaining and doing nothing. However, he did look very skinny and sickly, very pale and shaking most of the time. He clearly had a problem. Beside all of that, he kept creeping up behind me while I was trying to pack some personal things and commenting on them. I kept telling him to go back and finish the wardrobe boxes and I should have been telling him to get out. When I unpacked the pod this month, several things were missing that Cody had asked me about - one was an iron Japanese red Dragon teapot (approx $180), my silverware (approx $750 in value), and my mother's 12-setting silverware in old silver (value unknown att), among many other things. A raindrop shower head that I packed in a bathroom box is gone and I remember Cody coming up behind me and actually asking if he could have that to which I said no. Cody was not there to work and I should have told him to get out and off my property. The other guy, Jerry, was definitely a packer and worked hard but did not box my artwork as I had requested when they first stepped in the door. He told me he had boxed and loaded the artwork, but when the pod was unpacked, all my artwork was taped together without any box or wrapping protecting them and sitting in the middle of the pod with surrounding boxes and furniture on top of them. Someone had even thrown a hatchet on top of the artwork. All my frames were ruined and the backs were torn, some of these are expensive pieces which I will have to repair/replace the frames and have them resealed. The special boxes i bought for the artwork to be placed in were inside the pod but still flat, and never opened. I did call Baby Huey's Moving in Houston with complaints and was told their Claims dept. would call me and then they hung up without taking my phone no. I've never heard from them. This company is a nightmare that keeps recurring. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR PERSONAL PROPERTY.

I had a number of very valuable possessions that have either been broken or have not been returned to me. They will not tell me where they have it stored, nor will they tell me who their insurance provider is so that I can go through them. Included in the broken items that I did get back is an antique mirror, which I warned them before hand not to break, I also have a heart sculpture by Bob Gotchal that was not wrapped properly and was scratched front and back through his signature and the date; a John Williams Interiors lamp and nightstand that run many thousands of dollars. Included in the missing items was a piece of onyx that sits on top of a metal console among other things. They disappeared for over five hours with the truck. When they did arrive to the house they were throwing things out of the truck haphazardly. It also took them 3 attempts to put my bed frame back together. I asked them if they could put the bed back together and they assured me prior to loading the truck initially that they could. It turns out that they left a piece of the frame in my garage in Kerrville so that's why they couldn't fit it back together. When he arrived in Kerrville around 1:00 AM he became extremely agitated. He was shouting at me, pulling his hair, and banging on his truck. He became extremely difficult to work with and tried to say that his boss told him to leave the job. I informed him that I had paid for the job from start to finish and they had agreed to the terms beforehand so I expected the process to be completed correctly.

The 4 movers were punctual and followed good procedure for safe guarding wooden furniture during packing and safe guarding the main door way from abrasions. The online 10% discount was included in the final bill and there was no awkward moment discussing the coupon. The movers were on track to get an A for the physical move portion but really get a C because of the following findings: The furniture upstairs was later found to have nicks and abrasions and scratches. I was able to help mask these problems with a furniture marker. The shame is the furniture was new. I suspect many of these abrasions and scratches occured during the 2nd truck delivery when the driver (supervisor) could not turn into the driveway properly due to some parked cars on the street. Instead of stopping and asking for us to move the cars the driver decided to back the box truck into an empty lot to help make the steering correction. Backing up over the curb and then dropping back down shook the box-truck violently and I shuddered at the thought of the contents being subjected to the forces and causing scratches. Later I found a broken large ceramic vase in a cardboard box that we had attempted to protecte with throw pillows. A bed frame in the upstairs guest room was assembled in a hurry with the head board and food board not properly assembled or fastened. The fasteners had a washer system and none of the washers were used and all the fasteners were loose. The mover(s) left their screwdriver and the plastic bag of fasteners under the bed. The cross braces were incorrectly screwed down to the frame and out of position. I recommend the movers bring required tools for furniture assembly. Allen wrenches and torx bit drivers were not brought because they used my tools. They used my cordless drill also. The movers were courteous and proffessional. The youngest one got impatient by the 10th hour and I feared he would start becoming lax in judgement and his quality of work would suffer.
Description of Work: Disassembled and Packed furniture. Moved the furniture and re-assembled the furniture. Moved the homeowner's packed boxes. The move was residence to residence. The process took 13 hours and 2 trips with the moving truck.

In a partial "DIY" move from Indiana to Texas, we decided, after loading the 17' truck, that we weren't going to have enough energy to unload it at the other end! As we were taking a break while loading, our Angie's List Book, came in the mail. I opened it to "Movers" and found Baby Huey's. They offered a 10% discount for Angie's List customers. I gave them a call and sat up an appointment for unloading. They immediately emailed a contract explaining everything. They were due to arrive between 3 and 4:00 on the date scheduled. They called that morning and said they would actually be available earlier. That worked great for us! They arrived and were very courteous, introducing themselves and asking exactly where we wanted everything. I just stood by and "directed traffic" as they put each item or tote in the respective room. They worked very quickly and very carefully. Nothing was broken or dropped or scratched. It was perfect! I would definitely recommend them!

This is the post I put on Facebook 9/23/13. Cool story that started not so cool! My client called me at 4:40pm with a low tone in her voice. Today is moving day and I could tell something was wrong. She told me that her scheduled labor to unload her two pods and two Uhauls didn't show up and when phoned they said there was a scheduling issue and that they thought they were to come tomorrow. They offered no resolution and just made matt...ers worse. Her daughter had contacted a local Katy mover and they had no availability til Friday. I told Carolyn to give me 5 minutes and let me see what I could do... I GOOGLED, Labor Only Movers, Katy, TX and crossed referenced the names to my Angies List account - better safe than sorry. I started texting Carolyn company names and by the 4th text she called me, happiness in her voice again and said I found one.. The first company I sent called Baby Hueys Moving said they would send a crew right away. By 4:50 she had man power en route to her new home. Way to go BAby Huey's Moving... Thank you for saving the day!!!!! BTW they were rated #1 on Angies List so we're even that much more luc

They were professional, on time, exceeded my expectations, and I will use them again. I already recommended them to my daughter who is moving soon. They took great care of my wife's piano. I called at least 15 other movers who used every excuse not to move the 500 lb tub. I even had another mover who I had to fire on the spot because they scratched the tub before they ever got out of the garage. They gave me a quote for the move, it was spot on. There were no surprises and they never made an excuse that the tub was too heavy. If you have something heavy that you need moved, these are the movers to call.

The people at Baby Huey's were on spot. From the minute we called them to inquire if they could help us unload our moving van to the time the team of three completed the job we were very impressed. They called us to let us know they were on their way to the storage site and even arrived at the site 10 minutes ahead of our scheduled time to unload. They were professional, pleasant and worked very hard to unload the truck and to load the storage unit so that all of the items fit easily into the storage unit rented.

My experience with Baby Huey's was the worst I have ever experienced. There was so much damage and poor treatment of the furniture I could never list it all out here. I have fine quality furniture (majority H***** and Henrendon. Most of he 5 man crew were very nice. One barely worked the entire time. It took him over an hour to go get drinks for the others -- the rest of the time he walked the house aimlessly. Examples of Damage: Two broken end tables - 2 legs off 1st and 3 legs off 2nd Dining Room Chairs: wood tips at the top of the back rest were broken off Buffet: A buffet with wood claws was taken outside on cement and tilted, face forward, scratching and denting the claws. Numerous pieces of furniture were damaged with scraps of paint from walls or scratched exposing wood under stain. Numerous pieces were so poorly handled: one mover turned an antique buffet on its face on the wood floor without placing pad on floor. This also resulted in scratches to OLD hardwood floors (the wood floors were hard oak). This happened in two areas of the house. One dresser was so miss handled that the torque they applied cracked and exposed surface joints. This same dresser, when lifted they busted out the under mount piece at the bottom of the dresser. I would walk around the house finding broken pieces or chips of wood -- some of which I could never identify what they went to. They also did not show on the original move date and I was forced to reschedule the appointment the next day. Because of this, we started midday and did not finish until 9pm. In fear of retribution, I will not provide specific details of the location(s). If Angie's List wishes to have proof of work performed, the can call me for proof of payment. I attest that all information is true and accurate and observed first hand.

they arrived timely, but in a Uhaul truck. I had requested mattress covers and agreed to pay for them, but they didn't bring them, so they assured me they would take care of my mattresses by shrink wrapping. I was nervous as I had just purchased very expensive mattresses. But they did a good job only a little dirt on one that came right off. they three guys worked very hard in thie July heat. One issue was getting a price and then it changing. But Ok, they worked hard, and it's hard to quote when you don't come see the items. so be it. However, my problems were with the couple of issues I found after the move, and called the office. I got vm the first time I called and left a message that I had found some damage. No return call in two days, so I called again. I spoke to someone but they kept putting me on hold - and then said they were on a conference call and would call me back. Well that was a week ago and still no call back. Considering I paid more than I thought I was going to pay, and then had some damage to a very large expensive cherry desk (corner with a broken chunk out) and a knick in a wall. I explained I didn't take the extra insurance, but wanted to discuss what was covered by the standard insurance. It would be nice if they would call me back and discuss this. Since they didn't send me a contract as they said upfront and I called to verify were we still on and asked about contract, was told they would bring when they arrived. So, it was my word against their's about quoted price and price I was charged.
Description of Work: Baby Huey moved some items for me in early june and did an excellent job, I choose them based on reviews from angie's list, but as you can see they seem to be going downhill. Response from Baby Huey's Moving
The customer stated she had a 300lb grill. It was a 900lb grill that is supposed to be moved on a trailer. Of course we had to raise the price since the stated item was over weight. As far as the claim for damage. It had only been 2 days after the move. We have 19days to respond to a claim. We have to take time to go over the move with the movers and do our research. Thanks for using our services. God bless

We hired Baby Huey's because we had used them a couple of months earlier to move our furniture out into our driveway into storage pods so that our floors could be replaced, and were very happy with them (in fact, we wrote a review on Angie's list to that effect). We hired them to move our furniture into a new house a few months later- the new house had 2 floors, and we have a piano, which we were assured was no problem. While the movers worked VERY hard, and were extremely polite, they were simply not able to move our heavier furniture; they DROPPED a refrigerator, which consequently no longer closed, they banged up an iron bed, which needed to be re-painted, and did quite a bit of damage to my 100+-year-old piano. Baby Huey's shows up as "piano movers" on the web, and they assured us they were qualified. They did send the very movers who dropped our refrigerator back to fix it- not appliance repair techs. It now closes, but is still very dented. It was an old refrigerator, so we did not complain further. They never told us about the iron bed- it was only once we went into my daughter's room that we saw the damage to that. We could paint that ourselves, so again, not a huge deal. Finally, our piano was badly damaged-- the biggest problem. They had very clearly not secured the piano in the truck, or else they dropped it, too. The frame was cracked, the outside had two large dents in it, the cover would not open or close, and many keys were stuck in the down position. While they DID send a reputable piano repair guy out to fix the piano (and they paid for it), the piano is still not working correctly, and the body is damaged-- there is a split inside the piano, and two large dents on the outside of the piano- two keys were not able to be repaired as of this entry. They refused to fix the body of the piano, or pay for any further repairs. Yes, movers have limited liability, and the cost is much more than the deductible... I have decided NOT to pursue a Deceptive Trade Practices Act claim based on their representations regarding their qualifications and expertise in moving the piano. But, beware--they are simply not equipped to move heavier or delicate furniture.

Smashed an expensive black marble table, and pushed a cherry wood table through a door opening, without removing the top from the base, thus destroying a $20,000 table. I have lived in London, Paris, Toronto, Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. This was the worst moving company I have found. And they refuse to provide their insurance forms.

Response from Baby Huey's Moving
These are absolute false claims. We only unloaded the truck that was packed by a different company and transported by another. The expensive marble top he claims we broke... Was in a mirror box with no bubble or anything. He opens it and since we were the last to touch it we broke it??? The table that he claims we scratched and wouldn't remove the top. First of all it was scratched so he had us bring it up stairs to a spare room because it was scratched already.... The driver he had transport the items said yall watch out it will fit without taking it apart and scratched the door jam. This is an outright bogus review... He should be calling his packers to see why they put an expensive marble top inside a cardboard box instead of crating it. Look at other reviews....

Three men came with a 26' truck they were right on time. When the U-Haul truck pulled up we were a little puzzled at first wondering if these guys were just going to drive off with our stuff. The Baby Huey staff quickly put us at ease when the walked uyp with their company shirts and professional attitudes. They were conscientious and very careful with all our belongings. These men had a lot to do making the move in two truck loads. The most important things were put exactly where we wanted them ~ and assembled, like the bed, so we could step right in and put our house back together and easily as possible. I would recommend this moving company again without hesitation. Ironically, right as we were getting ready to make this move, the news broadcast a story about moving companies so let me add this. The transaction and contract were done on line. No one came to the house to give us a quote. But, these are professionals and know how much time it should take to move an average house based on size. They gave us a great hourly rate, roughly estimating how much time it would take. The moving men worked quickly and carefully. It took two loads because of additional equipment and several drafting tables that take up a lot of room when packing a truck. Rest assured Baby Huey Moving is a great and reputable company and the crew we had was wonderful to work with. Thank you guys.

Amazing work ethic from the crew. We were a very challenging job which took a long time. Chris, A.J., and the rest of the crew worked extremely long hours for us with a degree of enthusiasm that was hard to beat.

I filled out an online quote, received a call with an estimate a few hours later, and decided to schedule with them a couple hours later. Called them back, got it set up, and they told me they'd email a form over to do a deposit. 3 days later, no form - called them and they apologized and emailed it. Got it filled out and was going to take a check to their office - it is a small very disorganized building off Mason Rd in a chain-link/barb-wire fence...a little sketchy but okay...However, they showed up on time, called before coming, took care to move everything, we weren't able to fit everything in the truck (we knew we wouldn't but I have a truck so no big deal - as long as they got the big stuff). I was amazed at what they could pack in there. I thought there was no way they'd fit it all, but they did short 2-3 regular pick-up truckloads which we took over on our own. Drove carefully, and unloaded much faster. Carried a heavy dresser, elliptical upstairs, moved our upright piano no problems, and took our washer/dryer upstairs too. Only complaint is we found some grease marks from someone's shoes or from the washer/dryer...they were a pain to get up. Ate lunch quickly, were very polite, and in general worked hard. I do not envy their job! I meant to tip them but after they followed us back to the rental house in Katy to pick up some blankets, they loaded them up and left before I even knew it! I would recommend them to move. Took about 7 hours to move a 1500 square foot house to a 3000 square foot house.
