Apex Pool Service

After returning to our home from a posting in Canada I found our pool was green, dirty and the chemicals were well out of range of normal. I fired that pool service, restored a chlorinator system to replace the salt system and serviced the pool myself for the summer. We were next moving to a permanent posting in a different state and sold the home. I hired Apex after reading some good reviews to take care of the pool while we packed up and the house was on the market/empty. A very polite, knowledgeable and friendly young man (Brandon I think, sorry if wrong) arrived on time for his appointment and explained what he was going to be doing. He switched the pump to night running, to keep it from possibly freezing in December/January in Houston, checked the chemicals, cleaned and emptied the robot vacuum and added water. He also left a hang tag of each service performed during each visit. One day I had tree trimmers working around the pool on service day and he returned the next day at no additional charge to perform the service. Apex was by far the best of three services we have used when we were out of the country. The first one was fired immediately we came home from London. The second one was fired shortly after returning from Canada, after he had cleaned the diatomaceous earth filter and added no new DI earth. By far Apex was the most competent, professional and easiest to work with. We had to change the date of last service due to a change of closing date on our house, but Apex prorated the month for me twice, even after I paid late in the hectic moving period. They understood that I had hired them for only a short time but still did an outstanding job. I hope the new owners retained them. Of course, the only drawback is they were 40% more expensive than the previous service. However, if you live in the Katy area and are unable or unwilling to take care of your pool, I highly recommend Apex. My pool was clean, safely within pH and chlorine values, and I felt confident they would keep it looking and running great while the house was empty.

I learned about Apex from a coworker. Apex was hard to get ahold of by phone. I kept playing phone tag with Brian. Email proved to be a much quicker way for us to communicate. Brian set us up with Frank to do pool school. Frank called to set up a time. He showed up on time and was professional during the visit. Frank did a great job walking my husband and me through our pool equipment and explaining what everything does, how to work it, and what not to do. He also noticed some issues with our pool that the prior pool company had missed. One issue he was able to quickly address while at our home, the other was a bigger deal, so he had to come back. We were so happy with Frank's visit that we scheduled him for weekly pool service. He does a great job. We've been using Frank with Apex for a couple of months now.

I think their price is standard. I will continue to use them.
