American carports did more damage than good. They gouged our brand new concrete with the forklift and will not pay for repairs. The trim pieces are 10 ft 6 in Long but my garage door is 12x12 and the corner trim is 14 ft. So, they pieced it together and eye level around 4 ft up from the ground where it is very noticeable. They squished the bottom piece of the trim when they overlapped it so it sticks out and he's even more noticeable. They sent a crew to put the trim seems at the top but the crew came without matching screws and was surprised that they needed green screws for my green trim. They said they didn't know. Then they wouldn't change the trim because the garage doors were already installed and the little plastic piece for the garage doors was on the trim and they wouldn't take it off and reinstall it or even take it off and we could reinstall it. They wouldn't touch it even though my garage door guy said it was fine. The contractor they came to fix it told me that they're are 14 ft length pieces of trim out of the Texas facility. I texted the sales department in Texas and they confirmed that Texas does have 14 ft length trim but California does not because they're a newer facility. I called other companies and they have 14 ft length trim as well. When I called American car parts, they said that they couldn't have 14 ft length trim because it wouldn't fit on the trailer. The trim is the shortest thing on the trailer. Also when they came to fix the trim, became on Thursday and we're scheduled to come out on Saturday. So they had to unlock the gate. When they left, without doing anything, they did not lock the gate and leave it how they found it. The result was the wind blew the gate into the street and broke the corner post on our fence. They aren't fixing that either. So now American Carports is claiming that they only have the 10-ft pieces of trim and that the pictures online showed only 10 ft pieces of trim with seam lines which is totally not true. If we had known that the trim would be pieced together and look like crap we would have gone with a different company. Save yourself some grief and go with a reputable company that will stand behind their work.

I paid $6000.00 in November for a loafing shed, paid extra for 7 mobile home tie downs with a 90 mile an hour warranty, instead they only installed (5) 2 ft rebar and a few months later a 30 mile an wind gust knocked it over, tore up our fence, now I have a $6000.00 dollar pile of rubble and no place to keep my horses. They never answer their phone but on miraculous occasions and won't give me any answers, don't call me back when they say they will, won't text me back from their Google line they gave me to communicate with them. They don't seem to want to take responsibility of their mistake. They just seem to avoid me hoping this mess they caused will just go away. Yall need to make this right if yall are actually wanting to call yourself a reputable company. Jamie Blankenship 580-235-9034. If I don't hear back from you today, I have more steps to take and I will do just that. Do the right thing by your customers.

I would give them less than one star if I could! Customer service is beyond terrible!! I had never heard of American Steel carports before seeing their lot and signage on #377 thus had no idea they had a website, I call the number that was posted and was told I must come into the office they would do up an order for me. The rep at"Matt Lively Cresson Lot" who rents and sells RVs also asked me questions like how long was our RV and did I want to be able to open the slides while under the carport, I said yes that was a must. Thinking he had expertise in the RV field "big mistake", he filled out all the forms I signed them and paid the deposit never being told that the trusses pricing were the same for a 12ft as all the way to 24ft! I was told construction would be a few weeks out, seven weeks later they called of course while we were away to tell us they were coming in two days, I informed them we weren't home but they didn't care they were coming with no option for a reschedule just they were coming could someone let them on the property. upon returned home we soon realizing the building was to narrow to open the slides, so I call american steel and told them of our dilemma. The customer service lady said it wouldn't be a problem to get them to widen the building and would call me back. That afternoon I was called back by a different rep "Ariel" who to be honest wasn't even slightly interested in helping us and said I should sell the structure and order a new one. That being a ridiculous idea, he said he would look into it and call me back week and half later still no call back! Finally after tracking him down they do not want to exchange the prefab trusses period, I said I was happy to accept half of the blame for the mistake even though I trusted the dealer knew what he was doing when he submitted the order. I offered to pay a restocking fee for the existing trusses and obviously pay for the crew to make the additions. His statement to me was quote "you're not going to like the price I'm going to charge you to fix this mistake", or basicly go the **** away we aren't going to make your problem right. He then informed me that their trusses from 12ft all the way to 24Ft were the same price at $175.00 per truss. He then offered, if I took down the structure myself and returned the trusses to them they would credit me $75.00 per truss and then sell me the proper material at full price. I told them that wasn't remotely a fair offer that they would charge me 900.00 to exchange out the trusses for wider ones he would call me back again. Their final offer today was they would charge $2700.00 to come fix the mistake which is the same price as I paid for the first structure and credit us $100.00 for the $1575.00 trusses we currently have thus we would have a $5700.00 carport. And yes of course Matt Lively stated that all I wanted was a standard size carport, surely you didn't think he would step up and say, yes I remember that I made a mistake and gave the wrong width! Thank you Ariel and American Steel for probable the worst customer service I have ever encountered, I personally will never deal with you again nor will I recommend you to anyone else.

Once it was realized that the wrong building was being built, a call to American steel was made to inform them. After several calls, they tried to get me to keep the current ( wrong) building and offered a discount. I informed them that if I had wanted that style of building, I would have purchased that building. Crews were instructed to take down the building (which was about 30% up) and that the proper building would arrive on Saturday. This has set back other contractors, and caused me to spend more time and money in change orders. I will never buy another building from American Steel again.
Description of Work: Bought a 30X30 Ag A frame from Stuart Buildings in Liberty. Stuart warned me that they send out the wrong buildings, and NOT to pay them until I was happy. American Steel crew arrived @ 8:00 to build the building, By 9:00 I realized they were building the wrong style of building.
