Description of Work: He did an excellent and effective job trapping armadillos. He was able to trap three armadillos without our bothering with any opossums or other critters we didn't care about.

Description of Work: Trapper Tom removed a mole that was destroying our yard. He set traps at about 12 noon and by 7:00 pm that evening it had been caught alive and he humanly removed it first thing Sunday morning. He was professional his pricing was reasonable. I have recommended him to friends and other pest control companies.

Tom is prompt, professional and provided an overall excellent service experience at an extremely reasonable price. Trapped six raccoons, and after I reported each trapping, he responded promptly to recover the live animal and reset the rooftop trap. He did not charge for the accidentally trapping of a cat, even though he had to travel to my home to set if free and reset the trap. Frankly, he probably doesn't charge enough for the level of service provided. He definitely goes above and beyond to rid homeowners of pest problems safely and humanely.

Tom came the day after we called him to set the traps. He couldn't have been nicer, and he is an animal lover who takes what he catches and humanely releases them on his own property.
Description of Work: Squirrels had somehow made a hole in the exterior of our house and gotten into the space between our first and second floors. Tom set up two traps directly outside of the hole and caught a squirrel a day for 4 days straight, then patched the hole.

Called Trapper Tom, explained the situation - dead animal - house on is the market, need it removed as soon as possible. They were available (thankfully) and able to handle the situation. Trapper Tom is a catch and release exterminator; does not poison animals. So, he had a live Raccoon and an Opossum on the truck. Tom asked my 5 year old if she had ever seen a real, live Raccoon before or an Opossum; she said no. He explained that he had one of each on the truck, and asked if she wanted to see it - of course she said yes. He took the trapped animals out of the truck and explained to her whether they were nice or mean, and also some misconseptions about the animals. She asked questions and he answered her directly. I think she thought is was cool. Trapper Tom is licensed with the Texas State Parks and Wildlife Department. Good service, professional, will recommend and use again.

Great experience despite the circumstances of unwanted critters.
Description of Work: I called Trapper Tom after unsuccessfully trapping a possum that had dug under our pier and beam home and decided to make it a home. Tom was very professional and was quick to answer phone calls or answer questions. He set traps around our home to catch the possum and would follow up every 2 days to see if something was caught. Our responsibility during this time was to check the traps twice a day to see if the possum was trapped so he could come and take it out. I really liked his "no kill" service and in the end he caught 4 baby possums with a soft trap and took them to his home to care for them while the mother was trapped. Two days later, the mother was caught and he released all of them together. I highly recommend him if your looking for a more humane way of getting rid of unwanted critters.

We noticed on the weekend that there was a hole in the ground, behind a hedge, close to the house. I called Trapper Tom on the following Monday, and he came that afternoon and placed a trap for the animal. I asked if he needed to place bait in the trap and he said no, because this could attract other animals which made perfect sense to me. The next morning I checked on the trap and discovered an armadillo in it. I called Trapper Tom, he came that afternoon and picked up the animal. He left the trap for a few more days and since we did not catch any other animals he removed the trap.Trapper Tom's method of billing is extremely fair. He charges a flat fee of $50 for the first service call and laying out the trap and then charges per animal caught. In my case, since he caught one armadillo he charged me $65.00 to remove the armadillo for a total cost of $115.00, which I felt was very fair. In addition, he suggested when I refill the hole, I place chicken wire below the soil to discourage other animals from digging there.Overall a very good experience and I can highly recommend Trapper Tom to anyone else, who is looking to removing animals from their property.

Trapper Tom did an outstanding job. He caught the possum that was driving us nuts on the first evening. He came out the next day and removed it. I left the traps for another 2 weeks to be sure we had gotten them all. He was very professional and I would use him anytime.

Trapper Tom did an excellent job for us. He wasn't going to give up until he completed the job to our satisfaction. We will definitely use him again if we have more critters in the house. Tom is a very personable guy.
Description of Work: Trapper Tom inspected the house for possible entry points for varmits and suggested repairs. He inspected the roof, attic and under the house for rodent activity He set traps in the attic and under the house to capture rats. He also cut a hole in the wall to see if the critter was still there (it wasn't in that hole). Tom came back every day to check the traps. We were all frustrated because we were smelling something really foul and ended up cutting out more drywall at our request. We found a live opossum in the wall. Tom removed the critter and the smelly insulation that the critter had soiled. He screwed the sheetrock back in place, cleaned up the area, took the critter to a new far away place.

Laying next to my patio deck I saw a large cottonmouth which my dog was trying to sniff. I immediately pulled my dog inside and got on Angie's List and found Trapper Tom's number and even though it was a wkend he was here shortly after I called. He had a snake grabber and looked all around my large yard, but the snake was no where to be found. Trapper Tom did not even charge me for the trip across town and would have only charged $50 if he caught the snake (no kill policy). Nice Guy!

Trapper Tom is one fine trapper and an even better human being. He is obviously an animal lover and genuinely cares for the animals he traps. His policy is "no kill" for a reason. He takes the animals to a wildlife rehab place or sometimes even helps raise the baby animals himself. He is honest, very capable, charges a very fair price for his services, and loves his work. You can't get any better than that.We heartily recommend Trapper Tom!!
Description of Work: Tom came promptly on a Sunday morning to rescue baby raccoons from our chimney. He had all the appropriate equipment and the skills to do the job. He had them out and in a cage within minutes of his arrival. He also set a trap on our roof to catch the Momma raccoon in hopes of reuniting the family and ridding us of the raccoon problem.

For the past several months, our yard has been the victim of unknown nightly visitors who have dug dozens of holes in our flowerbeds and lawn. After what happened to our newly landscaped flowerbeds (see first attached picture), we decided to hire a no-kill trapper and came to Angie's List to find the right one. We chose Trapper Tom based on his rates and his reviews. We called Trapper Tom on December 30 and he came out that same morning. He spent a great deal of time walking our backyard, surveying the damage, and looking for possible entry points. Even though we didn't have any issues with animals getting underneath the house, he also walked the perimeter of the house and suggested that we block a couple of holes in the crawlspace screens and quot;just in case.and quot; He only charged $50 to leave two baited live traps. This fee also includes any rebaiting that is necessary, which we did need a couple of days later when we found one of the traps shut but no animal inside. A few days went by, and one morning I woke up to find not one BUT TWO raccoons trapped (see second attached picture)! We called Trapper Tom with the happy news and he came by within a couple of hours to pick them up. We later caught an opossum. Trapper Tom has a no kill policy, and relocated each of the animals safely outside of Dallas. Last week, Trapper Tom told us he thought we could go ahead and take the traps up. He came by and charged us $50 for each of the three animals he'd caught (which mirrored the rates that we'd found on his website and in the contract he gave us). We liked his service, his friendliness, his knowledge, and his communication, and we will use him again - though hopefully we won't have to anytime soon!

Trapper Tom is the absolute best! Called him at night and he had traps ready first thing in the morning to remove a raccoon from our attic. Explained the process and clearly is knowledgable and cares about animals. Although the raccoon is now gone and did not return, Trapper Tom did not charge us a "catch" fee. Awesome service, best price, and the coolest name of any animal control service. Thanks

Upon returning from vacation I discovered that 2 rose bushes and 3 other plants were excavated. I decide it was time to find out what was digging up that section of the garden. Also notice that 3 holes were dug where an animal or animals were going underneath my home. We live on a steep hillside and the home is pier and beam, so I was worried about what could be living under the house. I called Trapper Tom, because he was a no kill trapper and highly rated. He came out to our home and checked the area, he could tell from the holes that I had opossums, raccoons and possibly skunks. He went to work setting up his traps and baiting them. He provided me with a price list for animal removal, prior to setting up. I think he was reasonable and very professional.

A roof leak during a rain storm was caused by damaged shingles that the roofing man said was caused by animal damage. The next night I found a raccoon on my roof doing additional damage. I tried to combat the critters for several weeks by using methods found on the internet but was unsuccessful. During that time I frequently sighted raccoons in my yard at night. I found Trapper Tom on Angie's list and sent him an e-mail (on Friday afternoon). Within a short time I received a return call from Trapper Tom and he explained what he could do and the fees he charged. He said he didn't normally come to my area (northern Ellis County) but after we talked a while he said he would come out. By Monday I had decided to use his services and he came out late in the afternoon and set his traps. Over the next week he trapped and removed 19 raccoons from my yard which he said was the highest number he had ever had at a single location. After the initial one-time service fee (which I considered reasonable), the balance of the final bill was determined by the number of animals trapped. I found Trapper Tom to be very personable, as well as fair and honest. I was very satisfied with Trapper Tom's services and would not hesitate to us him again.

Great experience. Trapper Tom is an all around nice guy. He's very in touch with nature and ensuring the animals he traps are healthy and released safely. When we began trapping baby opossums, his main concern was ensuring we caught their mom as well so that they could remain as a family. While we didn't catch the mom, he said his daughter would raise the babies until they were old enough to be on their own. Tommy was also extremely responsive. As soon as we had an animal (sometimes not always an opossum - a cat, a bird, etc.), he would head on over immediately to either remove or release the animal and re-set the trap. Great experience overall. And his prices are extremely reasonable. I will be using Trapper Tom again if any more unwanted critters try to make their homes under my deck.
Description of Work: Trapper Tom set traps in my yard to catch - what I thought - was one large opossum and one baby. It turned out we caught four - yes four - baby opossums. The large opossum moved on. Tom relocated the opossums out in the wilderness so they would not return under our deck.

Trapper Tom was very helpful and had a lot of knowledge about various animals and their habits. He did it all - set the traps, came and picked them up, came and got the animal when it was caught. He also followed up after the animal was caught and the traps were still in the yard and attic.
Description of Work: A possum was in my backyard and got into my attic. I called Trapper Tom, and he came out, looked around my property and in my attic, and gave me an evaluation on how the animal got into my backyard and into the attic. He set traps for the animal, and within two days, the animal had been caught. Trapper Tom came out immediately after I called him about the trapped animal and took it away. He kept the traps in my yard and attic for about a week after he caught the possum to ensure no other animals were around.

While he could trap the rats, he could not poison them and referred me to a pest control company licensed to dispense chemicals, etc. Trapper Tom offered to come back and place traps at no charge, should squirrels show up over the next month or so. He charges per animal trapped at a rate of $35 each. Great guy, very professional, great attitude, and I would certainly call him again but I hope I don't have to!

I called Trapper Tom to investigate what I thought was an armadillo burrow in my backyard. He came same day, within minutes of the appointed time. He is pleasant and knowledgeable. It turned out that I did not in fact have any animal problem, but rather a busted sprinkler head! So he discounted the call out rate and was very kind and helped me investigate with the sprinklers on as well to ensure he was right: he was. I would call him again for any future animal problems (hope they never happen though!).
