Description of Work: HORRIBLE experience!! Horrible Workmanship, and they Love to use Bullying tactics to get paid before the work is done. Do not hire these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I hired these guys to give them a chance because they are a small family owned, woman owned business that one of my co-workers recommended, but the difference in experience and quality of work was night and day to say the least. From the beginning to the end, we had nothing but issues. We hired them to install a granite countertop and backsplash in a small kitchen. The issues began when the first guy came to draw up a template. We were told they were not going to handle the leveling, but rather we would need to hire an independent contractor / millworker to address it. I wondered why that was not mentioned to us during the estimate or when we came in to pay 50 % of the job. I was asked if I wanted a referral, to which I said yes. The person who came, also a family member named Polo charged us over $400 to level the cabinets. In the midst of so called leveling, he and his team drove with an air gun, extremely long nails into our under counter lighted cabinets, breaking the wood and lights in all 3 cabinets. We did not notice the damage until after they were gone. We called him back to fix it, but he never showed back up, never fixed the damage. |The day the installers came to place the granite, we were then told that they were not going to install the backsplash!!!!! They told us they were not going to move the 2 outlets that were ""in the way"" of the backsplash, and we were told we needed to hire an independent contractor, an electrician because that is not their job!!!!! Again, why was this not made clear during the estimate, proposal and partial payment process????? We informed them this was not made clear and would incur additional unexpected fees to which they did not care about. During this process, my husband and I noticed that the sink was unleveled which was causing water to permanently sit to the front side of the sink. We also noticed about a 1 inch gap between the granite countertop they installed and the cabinets below! Basically you are able to see the raw wood which was used to level the cabinets all the way across the entire installed countertop. During my original estimate when Carlos the estimator came out to measure, it was very clear that my existing countertops had approx a 1.5 inch drop to where they met the cabinets below, leaving no ugly open spaces. I wanted these things addressed and the backsplash properly installed, but instead my husband and I received numerous threatening texts from Carlos and threatening phone calls from Adam Lamb, an estimator. I was exactly 8 months pregnant at the time and Adam decided to argue with me over the phone for 15 minutes threatening to place a lien on my families home if we did not pay the remaining balance of the job, even though the work was not complete. Adam could care less about the work being incomplete, our concerns or my well-being, just wanted money, money, money, and wanted it NOW, "Or else". I requested the owner Iris to come by to take a look at our concerns, and finally this request was granted. Upon Iris's arrival, Adam surprisingly showed up as well, leaving his threatening pompous attitude behind. It was like Jekyll and Hyde! The walk however, though lasting 45 minutes proved to be a total waste of time. The concerns that we brought up were all thrown back in our face like they were our fault. 1)The gap between countertop and cabinets- Iris said this could have been addressed had they known in the beginning. HELLO, that's what the estimate was for. This was a known fact. 2)The unleveled sink- Adam pulled out his iPhone to check the leveling and said it was perfect, no problems, it must just be our sink. Not the case, when I pulled out a real level, I noticed the sink and countertops are 1/8 inch off which is what causes the sitting water. They could care less. 3) The moving of the outlets- I suggested they would not have to move them, just simply cut small holes around the granite, but they said they wouldn't do it for fear of breaking the granite. Really folks?? 4)Our broken wood and lights in the cabinets that were still unaddressed- Iris called Polo, the millworker and asked him to come the next day to fix it. This never happened, but what did happen after their visit a few days later were the threatening, bullying texts and phone calls demanding the remaining balance payout of the project. Unbelievable!!! My husband and I ended up having to hire a separate contractor to fix the work that Polo the millworker did not, as well as to get the outlets slightly moved so that the backsplash could be installed. Adam again began to call a few days later bullying about the money, stating that if Polo didn't fix the issues at hand, it's not his problem, rather "You WILL pay me today or I will place a lien on your house." |Installers finally showed up to install the backsplash and it was then that we showed them the concerns with the leveling. The guy had an attitude saying yes, it's not level, but I did the best I could. I asked if we had to be stuck leaving the project unleveled, how much money off of the remaining balance would we be able to receive??? We were told to call the office and check. We called looking for Iris, but as usual Adam instead protecting and hiding her told us that there were two different stories. Ours and the installers. He said the installer told him the sink and countertop were leveled and we said it's not, so we are wrong. What a Joke!!!!!! We all could see with our own eyes and a real level (not an iPhone app) that they were an eighth inch off. They installed the backsplash and left quickly thereafter. This project has been a total and complete nightmare, one that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Their monies have been paid in full and our concerns will forever be a thing of their past. Adam Lamb certainly needs to learn the meaning of customer service as well as proper customer relations. What man would ever argue and bully an 8 month pregnant woman???? This company utilizes very dirty tactics, poor and inappropriate communications and does not complete work as contracted. I will work to make sure that this is known to many. I would not want this experience to ever happen to anyone else, EVER. Save your money and the headache, DO NOT HIRE.
