Services we don't offer
For the convenience of our customers, when one of our jobs requires professional electrical or insulation services, we provide subcontractors that have been carefully selected and verified, ensuring that they maintain the quality standards we demand to provide excellent service.
Never showed up after promising they would be here days before the hard freeze, a plumber had been here to run a pipe from upstairs and left it unprotected so we called tempo who does our air conditioning maintenance fine, but not reliable on plumbing. dispatchb and the guy never called back after promising the plumber would be here with some super foam that we cant get at the box hardware stores, so we waited replanning the day for his arrival, do they not realize others time is valuable or just theirs???

Got the work done, but buyer beware re: high costs and cust.service issues. We determined we had a gas leak on a Saturday less than two weeks after the massive cold front that recently hit Texas, so plumbers are in short supply. We knew it would cost more to have a plumber come last minute and were prepared for an emergency callout price point. The tech was able to come out quickly (thank you for that) and told us it would be 1100.00 to find the leak. The tech spent about 45 minutes at the house and located a small leak at the gas connection for our stove. Fixed that, installed a pressure gauge on our gas line, and told us he'd be back Monday morning to check- if the pressure holds, no additional leaks are present and we can get the city to pass us off so Atmos can reconnect the line. We pay the bill, which landed at 1307.00 with taxes/service charges. Monday rolls around, no sign of anybody. Spouse calls Tempo who has NO record of a Monday appt so supervisor is contacted and says tech will be out immediately. Two techs show, and as the line has not maintained pressure, they look for additional leaks. They tighten/bolster connections where the gas line hits the property and also where the line enters the house. They wait about an hour to ensure line is not losing pressure, then leave confirming the city has been contacted for same day check. For these services (tightening/reinforcing two exterior above ground pipes), they charge an additional 796.00. This was surprising as we thought the 1300 we already paid included this final check/visit. City never shows, we call city utilities office at close of day Monday, the city says they were never informed of the check. City inspector is notified and he comes out and passes us off. He inspects the work done and all looks good but he was visibly startled at our total bill and confirmed city never got the request to check the line. So, all's well that ends well- but we spent 2103.00 for about three hours' of time/service. No major repairs were done - the gas connector for the stove was replaced, and two pipes were tightened or fit was improved. We contacted a separate large master plumbing company afterwards and asked what they would charge for this exact work/time (without disclosing what we had just paid). They said 650.00 for the first hour and 150/hr for each hour after that. That gets us closer to the 1300 we paid initially, and which I think would have been reasonable given the weekend call out and the skill level required to ensure gas safety. We are more than happy to pay fair prices and truly appreciate the expertise required but this felt a little like gouging, especially given the lack of effective follow up (the missing Monday appt and the city not receiving the request for check). Totally understand plumbers are working insane hours right now and appreciate the fact that they got us back online but 2100.00 for the services rendered is really hard to justify.

Dont do business with these ppl!!!! I had a unit motor installed in 2015,here it is 2020 and the motor is out. I called and explained my situation and she stated the warranty only cover the workmanship labor. Therefore ,I would have to pay another 500 only 5 years later to replace the motor, service charge for the repairman to come out is 95 and non-refundable. Are you a honest and reliable business?. Times are too hard and difficult for being ripped off.

I recently inquired about servicing installation of a new supply plenum after Tempo successfully installed a new return plenum. As a conscientious consumer I got a second opinion/estimate from another contractor. The pictures provided is what was shown to me as I accompanied the tech in my attic. The quality of work on the return plenum installation much to my surprise was awful. I am horribly disappointed with the quality of Tempo’s work. I trusted Tempo to provide good craftsmanship as they pride themselves on doing so. I am glad I chose to get a second opinion. This is the third time I’ve encountered issues concerning integrity in the provision of Tempo’s service. I would like to upload photos of the subpar work.

Let's start by stating it should be possible to leave zero stars it would be this company that would have earned it. I am sure the positive reviews don't involve a tankless water heater installation or technician John. He was by far the worse, unclear & certainly not punctual. Provided no cost to repair versus cost to replace causing me to pay for an second opinion. Failed to even consider letting me stay with the same brand I had said he had something better & it would be an all day job. I choose this company simply because they had a sooner installation availability. Big mistake, he was hours late for the installation & when I called for update I was informed that the previous job ran over & he should be here within 45 minutes. Of course he missed that appointment window but eventual showed. I was extremely hesitant about allowing him to start an all day job after 2pm but he assured me he would be done by 6. After 6 there are pieces still on the garage floor& he's hard at work. He apologize & said it wouldn't be done at 6 I respond apparently but it's fine as long it's completed today. Less than an hour later I get a call from dispatch that they will be back out Monday to complete the job. I stress my frustration & he said he would alert his supervisor but I hear nothing. 3 days later it's Monday & I have an 8am appointment. It's after 12:30 & I haven't heard anything. I call & his manager informs me that he had a blow out. I told him I wanted a different technician & about the broken promises this far. He cares not & informs me he could get someone out next week after the holiday. I inform him I plan to file a complaint with the better business bureau & he can get someone out supposedly this Friday between 9 and 10. So we shall see how that goes, I am so displeased, angered, & frustrated with the fact I have a membership that supposedly cut cost to such an incompetent company that I will surely not use.

I have been a customer of Tempo Air for 18 years and carry a Gold Membership with the company. My air conditioner went out on Tuesday, September 17th, 2019, and I had hoped things would have been handled differently. Kevin was the service technician sent out to my home. He advised that I was in need of a whole new system, as mine was beyond repair. He originally communicated to me that it should only be a couple days to have us up and running, only to come back and tell me it would be an entire week. With 4 daughters and 3 dogs, that was just not something realistic for my family. I was provided a quote for a 17 seer system valued at $10,560. When I asked Kevin for a quote using a lower seer rating, I was told Tempo Air doesn't offer systems lower that a 15 or 16 seer rating. Yet, I then received a second quote for a 14 seer system valued at $8369. I feel that instead of trying to meet my financial needs that I was being upsold on a replacement. I was then offered a first appointment install for the very next day, with all of 20 minutes (until 2:30 p.m.) to make a split decision that could cost me upwards of $10K. That didn't even grant me the courtesy of having time to discuss the circumstance with my husband, who was at work at the time. When I asked Kevin if I could have more time to decide, could we at least push the install to Thursday, the answer I received was I had 20 minutes for next day installation or it would be an entire week. My gold membership, which I had paid into monthly for the past 18 years, was not only supposed to give me priority scheduling, but also $2400 in Customer rewards for my loyalty as a continuous Club Member towards the purchase of a new system. It wasn't until 5:37 p.m. that evening that I received an email reassuring me I was a valued customer from Justin Shelton, Vice President Service Manager. It was then he explained to me there was a deadline they had to meet when ordering equipment, hence the 20 minute rush decision. He then reassured me he could have me up and running by the end of the week and would be able to offer portable units in the meantime. At this point, it was of no value to me. I had already had another company come out to look at my system that exact same day. They arrived at 2:45 p.m., evaluated exactly what I needed, ordered the new AC unit, coil, and furnace, with a promise to return the next day, Wednesday, by 9 a.m. I emailed Justin Shelton on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:17 a.m., advising that I felt like I was backed into a corner and that a company I have been loyal to for 18 years turned its back on me. That while I had hoped to continue using Tempo going forward, that at this time we decided to move forward with another company that could have us up and running that morning. I received a phone call shortly after sending my email from Mr. Shelton offering me a 14 seer Trane system at a cost even lower than I was originally quoted. At this time, I did ask to see if I would still be able to carry my Gold Membership on my new system, even if I decided to have it installed by another company. Mr. Shelton then advised yes, I could, but that he would have to send over a technician to inspect my new system and confirm it was up to Tempo Air's standards. If it wasn't, I would have to cover the cost of parts and labor to get it where it would need to be in order for me to continue to carry my membership. My new air conditioning system was installed by another company, and I called Mr. Shelton on Thursday, September 19th, to advise him of such. At that time I notified him that we did in fact want to continue our relationship with Tempo Air, and could we please move forward with the inspection of the new system. I also asked if my $2400 in loyalty rewards could be used towards the cost of a new water heater, considering how poorly my situation was handled and the fact the water heater would be provided by Tempo Air (as that was money I paid into over the years). I was advised this was not possible, but the company could extend a $500 discount. It was then communicated to me that it would cost me $118 to have the inspection performed on my new system. I was absolutely appalled. Given all that had transpired and the time I had been with the company, this was how they valued our relationship. I expressed my extreme disappointment in the way everything was handled and that he would not even consider covering the cost of that inspection, and that he left me no choice but for us to part ways.

Don't be fooled because it looks ok, because they will not take the responsible for the shoddy work underneath the equipment when your ceiling falls in due to them leaving open holes in your roof!!!! Anthony Pinero & his team installed & sold us extras. However, in putting the unit on our one year old roof they left two holes unsealed under the unit. (See photo). This allowed rain to seep in over the years & collect above our bedrooms until one day, during big storms, the ceiling fell in. Our Allstate insurance inspector and two roofing company inspectors deemed the cause to be the holes left by Tempo, so our insurance would not cover the costs with replacing the roof, attic damage or inside damage. The roofers tool lots of photos and gave statements, but Tempo management would not even respond to our calls or e-mails with photos. Eventually, the marketing person did respond & eventually the info we sent her did go to a Tempo insurance adjuster. That man never acknowledged looking at the photos or statements from Allstate or roofers, nor that the only people on our roof since the installation were Tempo's maintenance men who we paid to regularly make sure the unit was in good shape, change filters, bulbs, etc. that Tempo insurance person took months to rule Tempo was not at fault SIMPLY because it had taken four years for enough water to collect to crash through our ceiling. BEWARE of shoddy Tempo work you can't see, until it's too late.

Capacitor went bad and was replaced by Tempo at a cost of nearly $300. Exactly 4 weeks later, my AC went out again. Tempo was unable to send a tech on short notice, so I used another HVAC company that I had done business with, and they found that the capacitor that Tempo installed was defective and failed again. I sent pictures of the failed capacitor to Tempo and requested a refund, and was met with radio silence. Numerous phone calls to Tempo and promises that they would call me back, and still radio silence after a week and a half. Funny enough, I had also asked Tempo to provide quotes for my townhouse HOA to do a bulk order of at least 6 complete HVAC units. The Tempo salesperson kept trying to push me to an astronomically expensive unit that I knew made no sense for my residence. I will never do business with Tempo again. The fact that they won an Angie's List Super Service Award FIVE YEARS AGO in 2013 and NOTHING SINCE should tell you everything you need to know.

The issue has not been resolved after several visits/phone calls. I've explained to them that I have a special needs child that has seizures when exposed to extreme heat like the temperatures we notice in his bedroom. They've stopped returning my phone calls and don't seem to have a sense of urgency. I had to wait two weeks for an appointment despite the fact that during the past two weeks, temperatures have averaged 100 degrees. The same technician has been to my home twice now and the problem still continues. The technician hasn't even followed up since his last "repair." I'm not even sure how he could understand or assess the problem after never visiting the actual areas of my home impacted. He simply went to my A/C unit worked on it briefly and then returned to say I should wait 24 hours to feel the difference. I'm extremely frustrated at this point and would NEVER recommend them.

I use them for my annual contract. They do both plumbing and HVAC. I like the fact they got it fixed, I disliked the fact it took 3 to 4 days to get the part. The price was not their doing, because Trane’s expensive. They’re kind of overwhelmed right now because it’s air conditioning season.
