Description of Work: I purchased a $69 tune-up through Angie's List. I scheduled it for a Wednesday between 12-2. I took the afternoon off work so I could be home. About 3:00, I called to ask where the serviceman was and was told he was stuck on another job and should be there by "late afternoon." I called again at 5:30 and was told it would be another hour or so. The serviceman finally arrived at 7:30. Once here, he was very professional and did a great job. I would have appreciated better communication. It was frustrating to take a half day off with no pay and sit at home waiting. I was told, "This is why we give a 30 minute call ahead." This was not helpful as I work an hour away. The manager did call a few days later to offer a free fall tune-up, which was nice. With so many a/c companies out there, I'm not sure we would go with this one again.

Description of Work: Semi-annual HVAC tune-up - they were much more thorough than our other providers have been. We will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: The serviced my AC. The refrigerant was low and they pointed out all the problems. My house was cooling somewhat, but after they left it would not cool at all. Come to find out that they had removed and then incorrectly replaced a part that prevented the system from working at all. I don't think it was done on purpose (I hope), but given the heat, it made it impossible to stay in the house.

Description of Work: Purchased a foreclosed home in which the two air conditioners where in an unknown condition. I used the $69/air conditioner check up deal for each one. After some initial confusion of billing vs. service address someone showed up and did a very thorough job spending a couple hours reviewing the HVAC of the house. He provided an excellent breakdown of deficiencies in the units, with the main problem being one conditioner was about 2lbs light on freon. The was a $75/lb charge to bring it up to level.

Description of Work: They fixed my downstairs HVAC unit. I'm not sure how much the total service call was. The $60 was my deductible through my home warranty service. I was pleased that the repairman convinced the home warranty service to cover an issue that would most likely not be covered on my policy so i only had to pay the deductible.

Description of Work: They provided an a/c tune-up. I was a little nervous initially because I asked for a morning appointment and they told me they couldn't guarantee it but would try and fit me in. My worry was that I would wait around all day but that did not happen. They actually made me the first appointment of the day, which was nice. The technician was professional and I would have no problem using them in the future. |

Description of Work: 20 point inspection, added coolant, located/fixed coolant leak, installed drip pan monitor. Great all-around service. Knowledgable/informative/friendly employee explained everything, recommended only what was necessary for my home. I was very impressed and signed up for yearly service (Spring/Fall) at a discounted rate. Highly recommend this Co.

Description of Work: I used a big deal for an AC tune up from Reliant. I picked AM service and noted a 9:30 call or after is preferred but not required, but I need it in the morning. Service was set for the next day! Wonderful. I took the day off work and sat at home with no phone call or contact from Reliant. At 12 noon, I called them to see if someone was on their way. The tech was out on another call and couldn't get to me until 2:30 or 3 and the service would take at least an hour. As I had children to pick up from school, this did not work. We had to reschedule the call and I had to take another day off work to get it done. | |In the course of the tune up, the service man noted our downstairs system was completely out of freon and would cost ultimately around $1000 to get it running again. It's a 20year old system so my husband and I decided to replace it. After getting bids, we chose Reliant because the cost was the least expensive one and they were doing lots of work on our ducts and some work on our upstairs system so that the whole house would be nice and cool. Wonderful! The day of install I waited and waited. They arrived at 9:15, not bad, but the installers didn't know where they were putting a new return for the upstairs system and wanted me to tell them. Um, I don't know anything about AC systems. There was a lot of waiting around for "the other guys" to come so the whole thing could really get started. BUT the work was done well. They cleaned up after themselves and they even found a clog in my upstairs system and repaired it for me, no charge. | |On Wednesday (4/30) I got a call from Jessica at Reliant, saying we need to schedule a city inspector to come out to check the system per city guidelines. I picked Friday, told her to please request morning time for me if possible. She gave me the city number and told me to call them the morning of so they can give me an estimated time. I took the day off work to get this done. I get a call from Jessica this morning (5/2) saying she never scheduled the city inspector ("It just completely slipped my mind" she says) and I'll need to pick another day to complete the inspection. So that's ANOTHER day I have to take off from work because Reliant is so incompetent at their scheduling and communication. | |The work and the new system is wonderful. The sales guy (Brent) was knowledgeable and really great at what he does. But I cannot see using this company again in the future. My time is important to me but it really doesn't seem to matter to them at all. I've used all my good will from my boss at this point and am just ready to get the inspection over with so I can be done with this company. We were going to use them for regular maintenance of our system but I know we will now use someone else. Anyone else.

Description of Work: They performed an annual checkup on both AC's and changed one filter. The technician said everything was fine and we signed up for the maintenance contract.

Description of Work: 20-point check of AC unit. Unfortunately the evaporator coil within our unit is leaking and will require replacement. The technician was punctual, respectful and provided great information.

Description of Work: We had a whole new AC and furnace system put in. I had no problems with them what so ever. I really liked their service.

Description of Work: Our original installation wore completely out and had to be replaced. Along with that came new ductwork throughout the system plus two new return air ducts; quite a retrofit for a 12 year old home. The men arrived promptly and, as I was told, they completed the project in one shift, including clean-up. Only a very small amount of dust was left, which was insignificant. The new Carrier Infinity is a fantastic improvement to the original Bryant (a second line Carrier). My only complaint is that the new return air grill in the Master Bedroom is large and through it I can hear the unit in the attic running during the A/C mode. As I have yet to contact the company to see if it can be improved I cannot voice or write a legitimate gripe. I will know more later whether it is a noise we can adapt to.
