Reliant Air Conditioning

Technician arrived on time. Service completed as described. The company did not have my phone number on file, so I did not receive a call ahead, but later saw a message was sent confirming the appointment.

My first experience was with the salesman, Brent Hicks. He came to give me an estimate. He not only provided an estimate, but educated me about my old system, as well as options for a new one. There were no high pressure sales tactics. I advised him what I wanted, and he provided three options along with the three estimates. We obtained two additional estimates from other companies, and reviewed the pros and cons for each company. Reliant was by far the best option, and after also recieving a follow up call from Brent, we decided to use Reliant. He worked with us and scheduled the job to be completed on the following Saturday. He stopped by the Friday before to make sure he had a full understanding of the supplies needed for the job the following day. A crew of three men, all very professional and polite, showed up timely. They went right to work, and did not stop until the job was completed. They answered all questions I had, and explained things in great detail. The team made sure the furnace and the air conditioner were in working order prior to leaving. They left after a clean up, and left my home in great order.

My family and I started feeling warmer than usual two days ago and didn't think anything of it because it was still in the 90's outside during the day. Yesterday it got hot in the house so we felt the air coming into the house and realized that it was warm. At 10am this morning, I called Reliant and they were able to fit me in between 12p-5p which I couldn't believe she could do. I have a yearly account where they come out in the spring to check my a/c and in the fall to check the heater to make sure they are working for the upcoming weather. The lady told me when I called that since we currently had a service contract that they would make sure my a/c was up and running today. I was so happy. They showed up at 2pm and found that my breaker had been thrown and that my capacitor was bad. They had one on their truck so it was fixed quickly and the breaker was turned back on. After they fixed the a/c they went up into the attic and checked to make sure it turned on and was ready to go for cold weather. I have used Reliant for two years and have always found them to be great and on time. My friend called them at midnight on a Saturday night and someone actually answered and they were at her house early the next morning fixing her problem. I can't say enough about this company.

When my home system went down, Reliant installed a heat pump, air handler, and new return air ducting THE NEXT DAY! They had the lowest price for a Carrier 16 SEER system from the three companies I checked. The technicians were very helpful on installation day. They found the most inconspicuous spots for my return vents and even installed a new attic stairs for me (since they had to remove the old one anyway). There standard install included dampers for each supply duct, allowing me to better balance the airflow to each zone. For such a large purchase, I expected great service. That's just what I got.

We used them twice, once in 2011 and again in 2012. The job was great. It went perfectly. They were extremely efficient and fast. They were in and out within one day. It was exactly as the quote. We got what we needed for the value. They stayed extra to make sure we knew how to use the controllers. They were excellent and walked us through the whole process. We went up in the attic to watch what they were doing. Overall it was an extremely positive experience and we would definitely recommend them. They were right on time.

They have been unbelievably good with working with us after the fact. They have been phenomenal. They have really gone above and beyond. They have helped with things that they really did not need to do. Their service is great!

I have been on American Home Shield for several years and that has been satisfactory for appliance and plumbing repair, including repairs to my compressor out side in late August 2012. That was handled by A1-US Airconditioning. But when the unit failed 25 days later, the same firm, responding to a service request to AHS, told me I needed a $2500 3.5 ton compressor. They did not tell me the manufacturer, nor did their man go into my attic to more thoroughly diagnose my full HVAC. At that point, my confidence in them was gone. The attitude was replace the condenser, and if that did not resolve it, replace the compressor, and if that did not solve my problem, replace the coil. I did NOT want to get on that unknown future track with AHS. I have since cancelled my AHS contract. So, I called SunAire, who came out promptly, and discovered that I had a 3.5 ton outside unit, a 4 ton evaporator coil, and a 3 ton furnace. All of the units were 19 years old. That mismatch would have voided any warranty, since all units must be the same tonnage. SunAire quoted me a complete replacment HVAC family, at 15 SEER, for $8500. AHS's firm never caught that mismatch. Wanting a better price, I contacted Reliant Air Conditioning, and talked to Andy, who is the inside man responsible for existing home replacement installations. Mike Ross promptly followed up, kept his appointment the next day, confirmed the tonnage mismatch, and after discussing several options, quoted a 16 SEER Replacement set from Carrier, which has better reviews than the Goodman units quoted previously by SunAire and probably A1 US Air. With a nice discount, the final quote was $6800. We decided to move to a 4 ton configuration so we would have enough capacity to cool a patio room, which we intend to add in the future. A three man crew arrived the next day and spent most of the day removing the old units and installing all the new units, and running the extra lines to the master bedroom, then teaching me operation, thermostat usage, filter replacement, etc. Throughout the process everyone from Reliant was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable - from Andy to Mike and then the three man crew. They know their business and products. I have been tracking my electric bills and it looks like my kilowatt usage is about 20% less that before. My old 1993 vintage HVAC units were 9.5 SEER at best. I contacted Reliant in January to ask if there was still an energy federal tax credit available. Andy confirmed that the 'fiscal cliff' resolution did indeed restore some energy tax credits back into 2012, and told me the forms I needed to add that to my tax return to get the $350 credit.

The servicing completed in the normal time frame. I had an issue with the noise and time it took to fire up one of the heating units. The service technician said the capacitors were weak on all 3 units. I had him replace the one that was an issue for me. It did not seem to change anything at all. It still makes more noise than it did years ago and it still takes more time to fire up when it is first turned on in the morning.

Provider replaced coil, adjusted the coolant charge level. Satisfied with experience.

I bought a package deal for $155 which included a spring a/c check and a fall furnace check. They came out in the spring and checked my a/c and cleaned the entire unit. They came out last week to check the furnace for gas leaks before I turned it on for cold weather.

Failure of existing 1992 furnace during a cold-spell required repair or replacement quickly. Reliant supplied estimates for cost of repair and different replacement options. We chose to replace furnace and AC system with a new Carrier Infinity system. They were able to offer installation very quickly, to fall within an attractive manufacturer rebate scheme ending soon. Did not obtain formal estimates from other firms, but compared very well to informal inquiries. Chose to proceed as they were able to return us to a warm house very quickly. Salesman who provided estimates presented a range of options at different levels of expense, and did not try to push the most expensive option. We chose a middle-priced combination of AC and furnace which gave the best level of savings from rebate and tax credit as explained to us, and was a good match given the age of house - other projects would give a better return than going for the very most efficient furnace and A/C system. Work was performed very quickly, and extremely neatly. Attic space around furnace and ducting was left much neater than before they arrived. New system is a huge improvement from the old, with house much more evenly heated and cooled at far lower cost. Some minor damage to ceiling around new intake vent was repaired on request. Rebate process was relatively straightforward, and all documentation needed to allow claim of tax credit was provided. We had forgotten about the free 12-month service visit, and were contacted by Reliant to arrange this recently. During visit they sealed the vent through the roof, which had developed a slight leak, without charge. No other issues so far. Free service visit was very welcome, and no attempt was made to aggressively sell extended service coverage, which is refreshing.

I definately recommend Reliant Air Conditioning!

We had an issue where the condensation drain pan overflowed causing the A/C to short-cycle on and off. Called Reliant on the hottest day of the year and they were able to work us into the schedule same day. Other companies were understandably booked for the day, but Reliant was able to get someone to us. Wayne showed up on time and was very professional and friendly. He immediately assessed the situation and cleared the drain line. Bottom line: they provided same day service the busiest time of year for A/C work, friendly and professional throughout the entire experience (especially Wayne - super nice guy, very knowledgeable), and quickly fixed the problem.

We got our first electric bill this month - less than half what it was last year and our house is MUCH MORE comfortable. We set the temp on 74 w/ slightly lower humidity setting - last year 78-80 just to afford the bill!! More happy now than we were at the install!!

They went into the attic and messed with the wiring to install it. I went to turn on the a/c and it didn't come on. I was pleased that they brought me an inexpensive unit, but the installer messed up the wiring when they installed. I also feel that the service calls are a little overpriced. I am very upset that they are not open on Saturday or Sunday, and I ended up having to have another company come out and fix the wiring issues that this company caused. The misunderstanding has been solved, and I am so impressed by how responsive they were in trying to solve this issue.

The work was done on time - faster than I expected for the extent of the work. The technicians were great - very conscious of our home as they did the work and cleaned up afterwards. We need to have the air rebalanced to a back room a little more, called today, they will have someone back by the next business day! Every contact with the company has been solid. They did what they said they would for the price quoted.

They called me to let me know I was due for a maintenance check. The man explained everything was running properly, but since he left the air conditioning unit is not even cooling anymore.

This was the first time I've used them. They were able to come quickly on a Sunday.

To start the process, I called Reliant to schedule an appointment. I was given the name of the sales rep who would meet with me to explain all of the options. He arrived at the scheduled time and explained the options to me. He was not pushy in any way. I made my decision based on what I thought was best in my circumstances even though the system I selected was not the cheapest (although there was a rebate and energy credit that would lower the overall price to the amount indicated above). We concluded our meeting by setting a time for the work to be done. Reliant was very flexible on this point. They could have done the work the next day but because of a scheduling conflict we settled on a later day to do the work. The Reliant workers arrived at the scheduled time and replaced the heating system and AC unit in a timely and efficient manner. It took a good part of the day. They left everything in a clean condition. Toward the end of the day, a couple of the workers, including a Project Supervisor, explained the basics of the system (I had been left a variety of pamphlets at the original meeting to get me started) and offered any further assistance that I might need at a later date. The Project Supervisor gave me his card and told me to call him if I needed any further help. At the time of the installation, the weather was such that I needed neither heat nor air cooling. But as the weather turned cooler, I had an opportunity to test the system out better. Everything seems to be working well, at least so far. As an additional note, when the city inspector showed up to check out the installation, he commented at the end of the inspection that he felt that Reliant did a nice job with the installation.

This was for the replacement of a fan motor. They were ok.

Reliant has provided my A/C Heating maintenance for many years. My servicie technician, Sammy, kept telling me that the original units were reaching their expected life span. He could keep them running but they were going to fail soon. Reliant was my first choice when it came time to replace my units. They replaced my two units with top of the line units. Kris Tennison came out on 6/10/11 to look at my old units. He did an excellent job of explaining all the possible options. He worked with me to schedule the instillation on 7/11/2011, working around my vacation. Rick Overall brought out his instillation crew on 7/11/2011, when they were scheduled. He went over with me what they were going to do and answered all of my questions. Luis Cruz and his crew of installers did an excellent job of removing the old units and installing the new units. It was not an exact replacement, since the new units were larger than the old units. The instillation crew worked under extremely hot conditions (100+ degrees) and finished the job in one day. The crew was polite and courteous. The were neat and efficient. I would would recomment Reliant to anyone. I am extremely pleased with their service and products. They are going to have to come back out to install a new roof vent for one of the new heating units since the old unit's vent was in the wrong location and they did not have the necessary parts at the time of instillation. Also they apparaetly disconnected the back door security alarm during the instillation. They scheduled this work at my convenience.

Call yesterday to request service on our A/C unit which was not functioning. They came out today, as promised. Their Customer Service called about 20 minutes before the repairman arrived to let me know they were on their way. The repairman was quick, polite, clean and thorough. He explained what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix it. He repaired our A/C very quickly and it works! Very impressed with the fast service and quick resolution to our problem. I would definitely recommend them!

They arrived on schedule to complete the estimate and were patient to explain the details over the phone since I was away and unable to view the written estimate. They were very accommodating with my schedule. I even received a return call on a Sunday to schedule the estimate. There was only one minor hitch with the installation schedule, but it was quickly corrected. The crew arrived on time and began work immediately. They were very professional and made very quick progress removing all my old equipment from the attic and preparing for the new unit. When they discovered an issue with adapting to my old duct work, they brought in additional help to complete the install on schedule. Total job was done in about 7.5 hours. The system works great, it is whisper quiet and much more efficient than my old unit. What I received for my money: Outside: Carrier 15 Seer heat pump New outside electrical box New Pad for the unit to rest on. In Attic: New air mover, heat strips (supplements the heat pump in very cold weather) and AC evaporator 4 inch HEPA filter (MERV 11 I think) New Drain pan New Electrical box Quite a bit of new Duct work In the House: New Thermostat No footprints in the house, all the old equipment was cleaned up and hauled away. My garage was as clean as before the work was started. I would recommend this company to anyone. PS: Sorry for the formatting errors in my report...

The interaction was very good. I would use them again.

Our old A/C unit went out in the evening. We called Reliant on recommendation of a friend in the morning, and they came out that afternoon. They diagnosed the problem, found a new motor (difficult since the unit is so old), cleaned the unit, and installed the new motor all the same day. Very professional and friendly service. We will be using them in the future to replace the unit and add on to it.
