We had old AC unit outside that broke, our friend diagnosed a leak and said we'll be better replacing it. He also told us what we want to replace it with and we checked the price. Unfortunately he doesn't do replacements, he just works in a big commercial company. So called up about 5 companies one of them reliant. Sales person came on time and same day, told me that our inside unit that was replaced 4 years ago doesn't go with the heat pump we wanted (even though it said on the top of it in small print that it does and we already been told by a trusted friend that it does). He said that we either have to replace both inside and outside units or just go with R22 outside. His price for R22 was about $2800.

Our company’s position of not mixing two different types of refrigerant (R-22 and R-410a) is not always the most popular one from a cost standpoint. However, it’s a best practice that is supported by all major Manufacturers to prevent premature system failure and the voiding of the Manufacturer’s original warranty. Have lived in the home for c. 3 years. When we moved in, signed up for annual maintenance program with one of Reliant's competitors. They provided OK service, but each visit was topped of with a hard-press sales pitch for anything from attic entrance tents to some "if you don't do this, the world will end and you'll regret it" object - usually only when my wife was present. In their most recent visit for the summer check up, the diagnosis made no sense and was completely at odds with the previous technician's assessment AND culminated with a recommendation to immediately replace all three units. I then went to Angie's List to look for other alternatives. I had Reliant and one other firm send out service techs. Tony from Reliant came out and provided me a down to earth layman's view of my system, piece by piece. He recommended that I have Kris (sales person) come out and make a recommendation on what he would propose was the right way forward for what he agreed (for very, very different reasons) was an entire system in varying stages of end of life. It was likely to cost me c. 10k to get only a bit more life out of all three systems. Kris came out and with surprisingly little pressure, gave me three different options on how I could go forward. Each option was quite unique and we then worked together to figure out what was the one approach that best met my needs long term. As efficiency, reduced energy bills and long term quality were my main drivers, I decided to go with a more pricey solution, but one that would meet my near and long term objectives. After going back and forth a bit for 24 hours, I decided to go with Reliant. The installation could have been scheduled the following day, but I chose to delay for about a week until it was more convenient to me. The crew ( Raul, Pedro, Gabriel and about 8-10 others through out the day) arrived and rang the doorbell promptly when agreed (they were 5 mins early) and proceeded to get on with it. They were to a person incredibly professional and conscientious throughout the day. Raul kept me informed as the day went on and they did everything that they said they were going to do. They told me they would be done by about 8:00PM and I believe the trucks pulled away from the house with the job done at right on 8:00. They led me through every piece of the install and walked me through how to use the new system including all of the features of the new wifi controls. I can't overstate how good a job Raul did throughout the day. Other than the fact that I had nice, cool air flowing through the house at 9:00PM, you would not have ever known that that big a crew had been in the house completing the retrofit in one day. The next day, I had a follow up call to check that everything met my satsifaction and to schedule the city inspection. I'm very pleased with the service that I received and now have a new HVAC company that I'm thrilled to do business with going forward. I'm pretty sure that if I would have looked around some more (beyond 3 companies) that I could have found a better price; however, I'm fairly sure I would not have found as much peace of mind and such a high level of exceptional service.
Description of Work: Completely retro/replaced three entire systems inside and out. Prior systems were original to the house (c. 2002) and have now been replaced with Carrier Infinity two-stage systems with air purification and wifi controls.

The technician came out on the same day they were called, which was a Sunday. Luis was the technician that came to the house on all three visits. He was professional, friendly and explained what he was doing and what had to be done. I appreciate that it was the same person for each visit.
Description of Work: One of the AC units was making a loud noise. The technician inspected it on Sunday and concluded it needed a new motor and fan. Parts had to be ordered. He returned on Tuesday and made the repair. On Wed. the thermostat stopped working and the same technician came back and repaired that.

All we can say is WOW. Every word in Reliant's response below is true, and my husband and I are totally impressed, so much so that we're purchasing two big deals from them today, and they will have our HVAC business as long as we live here. Thank you, Reliant, for showing customer service still exists. We called Reliant because of the great reviews AND we wanted to support an Irving-based business, and their website says they service Trane, the manufacturer of both our central air for upstairs and the downstairs heat pump. Our upstairs A/C unit went out; they were able to get us scheduled the next day, which was Friday. The tech diagnosed a failed fan motor and said they'd order the part and schedule the repair. My husband asked him to check our downstairs unit, which he did, and he said "well, it's still blowing cold air..." and left. The fan on the downstairs heat pump didn't seem to be able to go on any speed but super low. It was 98 degrees upstairs on Friday and the downstairs wasn't below 75 degrees all night. My husband called today (Saturday) and was told Reliant's parts expediter doesn't work on weekends and the warehouses are closed on the weekends too, so the best they could do was hope for the first of the week. I couldn't believe that given the forecast is for 100 plus degrees this weekend, they couldn't do better than that. I mean, isn't no AC in that kind of weather kind of an emergency? I got on the internet and found Trane has an after hours emergency pager for parts, and even has a warehouse in Carrollton open on the weekends. We called another HVAC repair firm, which is an authorized Trane dealer, and they came out within three hours on Saturday, and it was fixed before 5pm. Moral of the story is, I guess, look for an authorized dealer for your equipment if you want any service on weekends or after hours. I'm really disappointed in Reliant, though. I wish they had told us that before we paid them to come out, even though the service call cost WAS very reasonable.

everything went well for the service. the technician was really professional. I bought a coupon from Angieslist and was disappointed because the coupon doesn't list exactly what is covered for what was described as expected for the service. I paid 200 dollars for the tuneup (187 +100 for a second unit) and still got charged 100 dollars for extra expenses which I thought based on the price it was already covered. I am not sure who was responsible for the coupon, but I wouldn't use the service anymore based on coupon offers.
Description of Work: cleaned the AC and flushed the water pipes. Also put freon to the AC.

I arrived home from a vacation around 5 pm this afternoon to find the inside of my home a not so welcoming 90 degrees. After checking the breaker in the garage and trying several other things as my husband gave directions over the phone, we determined we needed help and that if we could not get service this evening, I would be forced to find a pet friendly hotel and spend the night elsewhere. I called Reliant and the lady who answered (Lacey) was friendly and professional and assured me that a technician would come this evening although it might be as late as 9 or 10:00. She said I would get a call when the technician was near. I was relieved and grateful. To my surprise and delight, I got a call within the hour and a service technician (John Allen) arrived. Within a matter of minutes he'd identified the problem, explained it to me and gave me the cost of the parts I needed to get the cool air flowing. He then spent several minutes on the phone with my husband answering his questions about how the issue occurred and what we could have done to prevent it, if anything. We were so impressed with John's work and his ability to clearly explain everything. We decided to purchased a yearly maintenance plan with Reliant based on their responsiveness and service today. This company has the right name---Reliant. And we will rely on them for our heating and air needs from now on.

Happy with the service. Very professional and really helpful. I ordered new drip Pans as suggested.
Description of Work: Drip pan leaking water through the ceiling. Called Reliant and was able to schedule the appointment same day. Luis the technician came promptly and found that the drip pan outlet is clogged and cleaned it and uses pressure to open up the clog. Suggested to install a new drip pan as the current one is not wide and deep. I asked him to check for freon and he checked and rightly said the system was ok and it did not need any coolant.

James was fantastic. He was extremely thorough in his inspection of the units in the attic and outside. I asked about one of the bedrooms not getting any air and he was able to fix this by making an adjustment to the vent from within the attic. He made some suggestions regarding the vent and getting better air flow. I think what I appreciated most was his attention to detail. He made an adjustment to one of the vents in the ceiling of the bedroom but it had not been securely tightened and was not flush with the ceiling (something I probably wouldn't have noticed for a while! ) and he went back to get his ladder and fix it. He explained what my new Service Maintenance agreement covered and answered all my questions. When inquiring about the maintenance agreement I spoke with Sissy who was also very helpful and quick in getting my date set up. I'm very happy with the experience and would definitely recommend Reliant.

He did an excellent and thorough job. Also he carefully explained exactly what he was doing and why, what he found and what it meant, and gave advice on how best to proceed with the minor repair that will be needed to prevent leaks in the future. I would strongly recommend this company, and Fort did an outstanding job.

Was quoted $763 on Friday and I agreed to ordering the needed part for repair/replacement. On Monday, I received a phone call saying the price was now $880 due to a Carrier price increase. I called another authorized Carrier dealer who came out on the same day and installed the part for a price below Reliant's original quote. I am taking Reliant at their word when they say the circuit board had a price increase but once you enter into a verbal agreement with the customer the price should not significantly change on the next business day.

I had an issue with a leaky AC so I bought this tune-up. The technician that came out was friendly and showed me how badly the main drains were clogged. He worked quickly, efficiently, and was really kind. It did end up fixing the leak and everything works great now!

I spoke with Sissy at 3:02pm and to my surprise, I was able to schedule for someone to come out the same day to give me an estimate for a new HVAC system and install. I left work early . . . and 20 minutes past the appointment time, I called customer service because no one had called or shown up. My appointment had been scheduled for the following day and therefore the technician was unaware I was waiting. Customer service was very apologetic. The technician called, was polite and offered to do the estimate . . . but informed me he was across town and that it would take him an additional 60 to 90 minutes to arrive at the property (which would be 90 minutes to 2 hours after my appointment time). I asked that the appointment be cancelled.

I called at 9 AM on a Sunday morning since my AC failed during the previous night. Andrew answered the phone and took the information regarding my problem. He said either he would call me back when he was able to get a tech in my area or the tech would call when he was on the way. About 1:30 PM I got a call from Joe, and he was only minutes away. He checked the unit and told me as well as showed me the problem he found. I authorized the repair and he was done in about an hour. Note that the amount paid also includes the price for a maintenance agreement that I signed up for, it was not the total just for the repairs.

The dispatcher told me to expect the technician by 3:00 p.m. and he arrived around 2:15 p.m. Joe was professionally dressed, very polite, and explained everything he was going to do. He told us before he came how much the service call would be ($79) and before he filled the unit up he told us how much it would cost per pound ($52). He even had us watch him weigh the canister before and after the refrigerant was pumped in just to let us know what we bought. Our A/C required 5 pounds of refrigerant to set the charge. We may have a small leak somewhere since we needed so much refrigerant and our compressor is currently pulling 20 amps and it should be pulling 13-15 amps. We will need further evaluation during a maintenance appointment to pinpoint the root of our problem and with that information, we can make a decision on the best long-term solution. Our A/C is 10 years old and I'm just so very grateful that Joe could be there so quickly and give us relief from the heat!!! He did a great job and I would definitely recommend Reliant.

Fort arrived in the time frame agreed to with the company. This was an emergency repair and it was the first time I used Reliant, so this was most appreciated. Fort was polite, professional and quickly fixed our problem. I could not have been happier with the service and I felt the price charged was very fair - especially with this being an emergency weekend call. I will use reliant again in the future.
Description of Work: AC Unit stopped working due to clogged emergency overflow pan. Provider cleaned the pan and unclogged the drain line.

They did come when I scheduled for the appointment The technician told us we needed to recharge or replace our HVAC system. We had asked them to give us a quote to replace it. They never got back to us and did not have good follow up.

We had a positive experience with them. He gave us a suggestion for the future that he thought that we would have to replace in a couple of years. He told us what the problem was and what caused the problem basically. They showed up on time and earlier than expected. They're very straightforward. They didn't try to add on to it.
Description of Work: We used Reliant Air Conditioning for the AC service. The AC was running out a couple of days before the tune-up. He corrected that problem.

He came out and I was told ahead of time that there was a $79 service charge. I expected for him to first check the coolant but instead he checked the individual breaker for the A/C. He took the wire out of the breaker and said it was bad. So he went to his truck and got a new breaker and was going to charge $200 for it. He was asked what if it doesn't fix the problem then do I still owe him $200. He seemed irked by the question and then he decided to check the compressor. He said that was bad as well. So he deemed that the whole system needed to be replaced. I asked him to plug the compressor back together and we got the impression that he was bothered with the request of having to put it back the way he found it. He didn't put the breaker wire that he pulled off back on though. We don't believe he was competent because my fiance deals with electrical systems and saw him measuring the current incorrectly with the mutlimeter.
Description of Work: The tech came out to inspect the unit because there was no cold air coming out.

Reliant just blew us away! Wow! Amazing service. I came home to a warm house tonight. 95 degrees outside; 81 degrees inside our home. Exterior AC unit wasn't working. I checked circuit breakers, thermostat, everything. Called Reliant Air based on their Angie's List and BBB reviews. I was stunned that someone took my call late on Sat night. I expected to get an answering service. Within 30 minutes the technician, John, called and said he was on his way. I was floored! He arrived at our home within 20 minutes. Checked out the system and figured out within five minutes that it was the capacitor. Replaced it and our home is now comfy cool. Just like that. Very reasonable diagnostic (trip call) fee, and not at all expensive for the work performed. John was personable, professional and fast. The company that installed our AC years ago and who has been our service company to date said they might be able to send someone on Monday. Right. Um, no thanks. They just lost our business. We were so happy with the fast service from Reliant, we purchased Reliant's maintenance agreement -- also affordable. John didn't try to sell it to us -- I just asked about it based on the remarkable service we just received. Thank you, Reliant, for saving our weekend (and our sick puppy from having to be in a hot house). You and your technician, John, just gained a new customer.

On 7/4/14 at approximately 12:00PM our AC blower motor locked up. We contacted numerous AC companies and few responded. However, Jonathan called my wife back within 15 minutes and even though he was heading to Denton and we are south of Keller he rearranged his schedule so he could come by our home and get our AC back on before my wife's 4th of July party started. We will definitely use Reliant again in the future.

Bought a yearly maintenance deal for my two ACs and heating system. The tech was ver thorough and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend. The price was not cheap but not extremely expensive.
