Hire this company! Exceptional work, extraordinaryly quick response, incredibly professional and cordial staff. Contacted them during recent rain storms and received quick and personal service while I know they were inundated with other jobs much larger than mine. Work performed when promised at a very fair price.

It went real well. They installed it on time. He had a good and professional crew. I thought they didn't an exceptional job. The sales men Ken was prompted and helpful with the insurance process for reimbursement. They were able to get everything finished within 1 week. The workers hand nailed the shingles as appose to a nail gun. I thought they did an outstanding job. If you used them, ask for Ken Dunn.

The salesman, Ken, came out to inspect our chimney and our gutters (per my request). While he was here he also analyzed the efficiency of our attic. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. His professionalism was top-notch. Within a couple of days I had a few quotes and at this time I accepted just the chimney cap work to be done. They created a custom chimney cap and the Jon Wright office kept me in the loop on the stages of the fabrication, since it took a couple weeks to be completed. They scheduled the install (I did not have to be home, which was great for me, since I was on vacation when it was ready). When I returned home, I saw a beautifully built chimney cap on our home. If a chimney cap can be beautiful, this one is it. I sincerely think I have the very best chimney cap. I could not be happier. Will definitely use Jon Wright Industries again for other roof-related work.

Met with Benjamin Black on July 20th regarding a small leak in my flat roof. He called a couple of days later and came back again with a roofer to take measurements. I felt they both acted unprofessionally during the visit. They left stating they would get me a bid. I hadn't heard from him so I sent him an email following up on July 28. He did reply stating he had spoken with his boss, and the things he discussed with me were the wrong approach to my roof. He asked me to give him more time, and he would get me a quote. I followed up again after that, but he never gave me a quote or returned my emails/calls. After experiencing how unprofessional they are, it was probably for the best. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your reply. I understand this is a difficult roof redo. I also understand that most roofers have been inundated with so many jobs to do. I also understand this was not a huge project. What I look for in any contractor is that they have the needed expertise, that they shoot straight with me, and that they do what they say they are going to do. My experience described here shows none of what I look for. I took out the details to the unprofessional behavior. It doesn't matter what it was. I just felt it was unprofessional in light of the fact that I was there to get an estimate or bid on a roof and endured two visits of unprofessional behavior and never even got an estimate although I was promised an estimate on two occasions. Then there was no more response to follow up calls or emails. Yes, I did get my roof done. The owner came out the first time. The owner showed he had the required expertise. He told me they were backed up and gave me a time when he could get to it. He quickly gave me an estimate. He kept his word, and the roof was done exactly when he said it would be. It was worth the wait to get the job done well from someone who showed he had a high level of knowledge and skills to get the job done right.
Description of Work: Met with me twice to look at my flat roof to get me a quote. They never gave me a quote even though I followed up several times.

Response from Jon Wright Industries
I apologize for the behavior of my people. Ben did admit that our installer was on his phone with his newly estranged wife, the mosquitoes and his lack of follow through. He did come to me and I immediately told him if there was a door onto the patio it was almost for certain the cause of the leak. We were buried under the weight of numerous calls at that time and lost a lot of clients due to the volume associated with the month plus long flooding. We had little time to look. Plus I believe the job was beyond Ben's ability as well as most roofers. If he had asked me again I could have priced it. Ben claims he didn't discuss religion and his church website was open when he opened his laptop. Neither here nor there, we failed to get a proposal to the customer as well as several others during this time frame. As a result of these incidents we have revised our procedures to make sure estimates are timely or we bow out of the bidding. It is not fair to the consumer to look for a bid that is not forth coming. Ben says he doesn't know who Rick Moranis is. I didn't either but I do now. I hope the project went well. I apologize. The criticism was deserved and will make us better.

This is my second project with Jon Wright Industries. Ken Dunn has been the project manager for both projects. I do like working with Ken as I have found him to be responsive, knowledgeable, experienced with an attention to detail, and has patiently answered my numerous questions. The project involved replacing a hail damaged roof that was about 16 years old. I also wanted to add a solar tube and a skylight to improving the lighting in my living room and kitchen. Ken provided an initial written quote with various options detailing the selection of materials, work, and upgrade options and what they would cost. This gave me something to use to compare against other quotes. I also did my own research on the various materials and the solar tube and skylight options to help me in the selection process and to ask intelligent questions. In comparison to other GAF certified master elite roof contractors, the price was slightly higher, but my past experience with Ken was a factor in choosing Jon Wright Industries. I scheduled another visit with Ken where we made modifications to the original quote to agree to the material selections and solar tube, skylight and various upgrade options and settled on a price. My insurance settlement covered a little more than half the cost. The work crew appeared to be experienced and competent. Inside the house they covered the work area with sheets of plastic and drop cloths to catch the debris from cutting holes on the ceiling. A 22 inch diameter solar tube with an 8 foot flexible tunnel to the roof was perfectly installed in the living room. I was surprised by the effect - it really added A LOT of light. The added skylight in the kitchen also seemed to give an increased sense of space. Both of these were high quality energy efficient models from Velux. I do not feel heat standing under them even though it is 100 degrees outside here in the Texas summer. I chose to upgrade The roof to a class IV hail impact resistant shingle and the GAF Golden Pledge 50 year Material and Labor warranty with 25 year no leak guarantee. The class IV roof will get me an insurance discount and the warranty is transferable should I sell the house. The turbine vents were moved to higher locations, soffit vent holes were recut, existing felt was removed so the decking could be inspected and replaced as necessary, all through roof vents, skylights, were sealed against leaks, metal flashing replaced in order to bring it to compliance for the warranty. I was pleased with the workmanship and attention to detail. The roof looks great! All the debris was hauled away and the cleanup of the property was good. The yard was also magnetically swept for nails. I thank Ken, his work crew and Jon Wright Industries for a job well done. They have my recommendation.

Initial call back timing was good. Then the project manager was late to initial meeting. Said he tried to call me. Come to find out later he had the wrong phone number for me and had actually called someone else. Spent a total of about 2.5 hours at my house analyzing the roof and such. He was very thorough and knowledgeable but it was almost overkill. I was really surprised when such a big company asked for money upfront at drop off of materials. Every other company, even a start up company that gave me an estimate said payment would not be due until completion of work. I would expect the same out of such a large contract company such as Jon Wright. Had to ask several times for the quote to be sent to me. And no I was not being pushy about it. It took them over a week to get it to me. I can understand we all get busy, but I was sure to tell the estimator that I would be making a decision by the next Friday and that I needed all bids to me by Wednesday so I could review and make a fair decision. And it was a good thing I was sitting down when I reviewed it. It was significantly higher than everyone else. I am sure the work is good , but then its hard to tell. Though my research I soon found out that all of these contractors use subcontractors which usually work for more than one company. So you never really know what your going to get unless the crew is exclusive to the contractor you choose. I was quite disappointed at the way this went, especially after reading the reviews on Angie's List. Wasn't terrible, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Sorry about the delay in getting the quote but we were in the aftermath of a rain event of Biblical proportions. Rain records had been shattered and people’s homes were being destoyed and lives were lost. We even bid the small repairs while many companies only handle full jobs. Lack of profit and talent drive this.. We are not a large company but we stay busy all year long. We have certifications and credentials that cannot be matched. We carry insurance beyond what most carry if at all. We are not a start up. 80% of roofing companies are out of business at two years. We never strive to be cheap and if you are looking for price we are not a good fit. We follow building codes, offer superior materials, enhanced manufacturer warranties and hand nail quality. We asked for the first insurance payment upon commencement, not in advance, and would wait for the rest of the money when it came and was cleared by the mortgage company, a process that can take many months. Price doesn’t matter on an insurance claim. You are only out your deductible unless you use a roofer that will “wave” your deductible, which is a felony. These roofers cannot be sued because the homeowner is a participant in the crime. Of course these guys won’t lie to you, just insurance companies. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…. Insurance companies do not overpay. Period. If a contractor bribes you with “waving” the deductible then he must either cut job performance or go out of business. I remember a time when people knew right from wrong and didn’t defraud their insurance. We play by the rules. We’ve been called crooks because we charge the deductible. We know it seems normal because so many roofers do this, something called moral relativism. My people are instructed to never lie to anyone. Admit your faults. It took Ben ten days to get him his bid. Too long.

David contacted her right away. She said she would text him when she wanted to meet. About three days later she contacted David and he agreed to met her on a Tuesday morning forgetting we have mandatory training every Tuesday. He asked her if she could push it back a few hours and she said she was busy that and would get back with him. He should have checked his calendar and we have been having that training once a week forever. Sorry for the inconvienence. I hope your project goes well.

After calling several roofing companies and not receiving calls back either at all or in a timely manner, I reached out to the Houston branch of Jon Wright Industries. I received a call from Scott Craig within a few hours of emailing, and he was able to send Armando out to repair the leak in my roof the next day. Armando was courteous, explained the problem and fix for it. Once I approved the work, Armando was able to repair my roof that same day -- within an hour or two. The only surprise to me is that it seems like Jon Wright Industries subcontracts out the roofing work, or maybe they did just for my job since they were busy.

Thank you for your business. Yes we do use some subcontractors and the entire industry is set up this way. some are ex employees who have gone on their own and do not keep themselves busy. Others are vetted individuals that we send to additional training. We know who can do what better than they do themselves often times. As our work load goes up and down our needs vary tremendously. We do stand behind our work and make all of our technicians attend regular training and acquire certificates and designations. Scott had been in the construction business before he came to us but we trained him rigorously. Many times he went with me. They all ask me questions almost several times a day do the number of years I've been in the business as an installer and business owner. I too subcontracted while getting my bachelor degree and for the first six years of my business, albeit less and less every year. Sometimes ex-salesmen sell jobs and we do them. We keep a friendly rapport with all quality and ethical people we meet. Some of them are not capable to do certain jobs without our assistance. Some subcontractors have worked here regular for over 25 years but continue to do some work for themselves. they prefer not to do business with the customers or are incapable of determining a price or correct materials. Whatever the case we do guarantee our work and go beyond the warranties we issue. My resume is as such: Helper 1971to 1975 Subcontractor 1979 to 1985 Contractor/ business owner 1979 to present.

We called several companies to do estimates on replacing the roof on our 2-story house. Out of all the companies we called, we were most impressed with Jon Wright. Ken Dunn came to our house to do the estimate, and he spent a great deal of time educating us on roofs, ventilation, code, etc. He had plenty of materials with him to show us the different options for shingles, leak protection, ventilation, etc. He obviously had gone through a great deal of training because of the level of knowledge he had related to roofs and potential problems. He made several recommendations to us, and advised us that there were some issues in our attic that were not up to code which the insurance company would be required to pay for and would not be any cost to us. No other roofing company had advised us of these issues. The roof replacement was finished in one day, and Jon Wright dealt with the insurance company directly. There were several things that needed to be done to our roof beyond what the insurance adjuster had found, but Ken Dunn worked with the insurance company to explain why they were necessary and got the adjuster to cover everything needed. Overall, we were very impressed with the level of professionalism that Jon Wright brought to the job, and we would not hesitate to use this company again.

I had hoped to have the inspection and estimate done by the roofer/carpenter who would actually be doing the work. The inspection was done by the guy who would have done the work, but he didn't understand enough English that he could respond to my questions/concerns. I realize that mine was a relatively small chimney repair job and not a new roof, but the fact that I had to repeatedly call to request an estimate, and then the estimate was incomplete, made me hesitant to have Jon Wright do the work.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate for chimney repair work. Took several calls before they sent a guy to take measurements. The guy spoke very little English so it wasn't really possible to explain what I needed or ask questions. The guy made measurements and took pictures. A lady at the office used the pictures and measurements to create an estimate which she emailed to me. The estimate didn't include the price for the guttering, so had to make additional requests to get that. I did not select Jon Wright to do the work

Whenever we are at fault I admit it. No excuses. This is not one of those times. The customer called in on 4/15 asking for a call back on a deteriorating chimney. Victoria called him back the same day and scheduled our repairman, who is a citizen and has worked for us 25 years, to come out the next day. The client stated he wasn’t using another company because he didn’t like the way they leaned their ladder against his gutters. We received no more calls from the client. We were inundated with calls due to the record rains and flooding that had been going on in April. On 4/24 Victoria called the client to see if he had any questions. She waited and then emailed the quote. He called back asking for the gutters also, I guess the gutters he didn’t want damaged by ladders. In response to the direct complaints: He didn’t make multiple calls on the gutters. Jose speaks English and is our repeat customer’s favorite employee. He does have an accent. Jose was the person who would have performed the repairs. He is extremely talented. This was not a small repair. The framing, siding, decking and roofing were shot and the customer had installed shelving brackets to keep the chimney from falling off or through the home. $2,370.00 is not a small chimney repair.

I set the appt. for 3pm today. When I got to my house about 10 minutes till, I found a business card from Rafael asking to reschedule. I called him and he came back. Was very disappointed as he could not figure out where the leak was coming from, and told me I had to schedule another appointment with Jon or his dad. Based on the information I gave when booking the appt., I'm not sure why he was sent - he said he can sometimes make repairs on the spot, but this would have been impossible, as two rooms of sheetrock, insulation, etc. would need to be replaced. I just called the company, and I am going to give them another chance to make this right on Wednesday. I will update my review after that.

I personally went out there and met with her. I diagnosed the problem which she said the other contractors couldn't as my man couldn't. I quickly email an estimate and called several times. I have not been able to reach her or get her to update this review for several months now. The complaint about my estimator was nearly the same as she had with others, they couldn't figure it out. All around good experience with Jon Wright Industries. I had a leak that caused sheetrock damage that had been fixed incorrectly twice by another contractor. David Votava came out and priced replacing outside trim around the window, sealing the window and replacing damaged sheetrock inside. We waited a few months to get actual work done. When I called to schedule David had someone out to re-exam the job and schedule it very quickly. I am confident the leak is fixed this time because unlike the other contractor, the guy doing the work opened up the sheetrock and sprayed water to find the exact cause of the leak and showed it to me. Turns out it was just a window issue and not a trim issue so they reduced the estimate accordingly and did not do work that did not need to be done, even though it was originally quoted. This leak has been a big headache so thanks to Jon Wright for doing the job right and making it quick and easy for a good price.

We considered several contractors, and hired Jon Wright Industries because of their reputation for quality work. We were not disappointed. The work was done in October 2013. They installed better quality shingles (Class 4 impact resistant) and padding than we had before, and now we can't even hear the rain on the new roof. They also installed more/better ventilation in our roof, included in the cost, and the next summer our attic was a few degrees cooler and our electricity bills were less. We had one small leak a year after the job, and they sent someone out promptly to take care of it for free. Good people, good workers, their price was a little higher than the cheapest roof contractors, but we got what we paid for and are very happy with their work. We highly recommend them.

David Votava and I did a walk through and decided on what needed replacing on the overhang (all the front, all the west side, and two panels each in the back and front overhangs. He had a crew out the next day. I thought it would only take two days, but it took four, mainly because only one man worked the first day. I then decided that since they were painting the new wood, I would also have them paint all the overhang around the entire house. They did. In most projects something always goes wrong and it did. They painted the metal railing on the front porch. I did not catch this mistake until they were 95% complete. To remedy the problem they removed all the paint from the railing and it looked as good as new. Took another day. They also painted the front window frame, which it needed. When we did the completion walk through, we found four corners where the metal stripping on the front of the new wood edge stripping did not fit properly. They sent a man out the next day and he replaced the entire metal stripping in the areas of the four problem corners, not just the corners. Better than I expected. Even though the job took a week (we had a lot of rain that week), I am totally satisfied with the job and the personnel sent to do the work. They were polite and continued to have me check their work. All the removed wood and left over materials were removed. Great job!

While cleaning my gutters in anticipation of the rainy season I found a large hole in a small section of siding up near where the roof met another wall. It appeared as if this damage had been there a while and had started to rot. David from Jon Wright came out after using Angieslist Snap-fix on the app. After discussing my options with David he convinced me that since he was already going to be doing the work to the small section that it would be cost effective to do other parts that were showing wear. For the price he quoted me I just couldn't pass it up. David offered to do all the work himself even though he is a sales guy which ended up saving me a good chunk of cash. Work started about a week and a half after the initial consultation. Unfortunately the work took a bit longer due to all the rain we have had the past few weeks but David was determined to do it right and I appreciated the effort and time he took to do it properly. David made sure that everything was done better than when the house was originally built and took the time to do all the detail properly. I am very pleased with the work and my experience with Jon Wright that I will use them again when needed. Excellent job and highly recommended.

The project manager (Ken) visited my house and performed a detailed inspection of the existing wood chase around the chimney which has decayed and rotted after nearly 30 years. He showed me photos, patiently answered all of my questions and provided a detailed written quote indicating all the agreed upon materials, work to be performed and warranty. After acceptance of the proposal, work was scheduled for the next day with the workers arriving at the expected time. The work was completed within a few hours with excellent quality - looks like new! The worksite was left cleaned up with the debris hauled away. Very professional. I would definitely consider using their services in future projects.

All went as planned. Jose and another person came out the morning of 4/16/15 and completed the job. This makes the 4th time I have used Jon Wright (and Jose). They have always been very responsive and very honest. This job was very straight forward, but I have had other jobs where another roofer would have told us something needed to be repaired, but Jon Wright said it was just fine and no repair was needed. So, I feel good anytime Jon Wright does work for us.
Description of Work: Due to the heavy rain we had on 4/13/15, we found we had a leak of some sort in our master bedroom. Called Jon Wright on 4/14 in the morning and had call back personally by Jon Wright the owner within the hour. Jose came out and determined that some of the flashing needed to be redone as it had an exposed opening. Said that flashing would be redone along with re-doing some shingles along the valley.

My insurance company planned to drop me because my roof is "old". So I called around to get estimates and feedback from roofers. Scott came out and did a full evaluation and basically stated that I didn't need a roof! He said that my roof was older, but not damaged or in need of replacement or even repair. I took his input and suggestions and went back to my insurance company. They renewed me without requiring a new roof! Talk about professional! When I do need a new roof, I will definitely give Scott a call

Eric Bradicich of Jon Wright Roofing was the ultimate professional in selling us our new Solaris Gold IR,CT MaxDef roof to replace our storm damaged one. He explained in detail the installation of it, down to the 6 nails per each hand nail laminate shingle. Everything that was missing in the old roof was furnished and upgraded, including our old ventilation system being balanced. All the work was started and completed on time and beautifully done ----- clean-up too. Insurance claim damage work inside the house was arranged by Eric and also done professionally. I will definitely hire this company again.
Description of Work: Remove entire roof system and gutters and replace these with new roof, gutters, downspouts. Also repaired interior and exterior damage from 2 storms as was indicated on insurance.

I got several quotes for the work. David Votava was the only bidder who gave me options other than Hardie Board and took the time to explain the differences. He was really knowledgeable about the products, was very good at explaining and answering questions about the products and process and didn't rush me. I gather his career has taken him from big box hardware store, to manufacturer's rep and now construction company contractor so he's had the opportunity to soak up a lot of knowledge along the way. I would have been happy to have him do the siding on my house, but, in the end I decided to go for a less expensive option. Not his fault at all.
Description of Work: David Votava of Jon Wright Industries quoted replacement of existing vinyl siding on my house with LP Smartside.

That was completed within a couple of weeks. He responded within 48 hours to schedule the evaluation after I pruchsed I called him a week later and he was still able to schedule me. He had my roof on within 4 days. They showed up on time and did a fair job on the clean up. There was no addiantl charge either. I would give them an A+ for responsiveness, punctually and professionalism. He even called later, after the job was done, to follow up to evaluate his crews work.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal from this company for $4,999 for a GAF Timberline HD Lifetime roof system.

Jon Wright Industries (JWI) replaced our roof in August 2014 due to hail damage, and we were very pleased with the project from start to finish. Rob Ross was the project manager and he was meticulous. Here are our main thoughts: § Rob made sure the roof project would be done right, which meant going back to our insurance company and renegotiating for things that our insurance adjuster didn?t initially cover. § Rob inspected our attic and noticed problems with our soffit vents and ventilation. Our builder had not installed enough vents and hadn?t cut out the soffits correctly in many cases. They corrected the soffit problems and installed a ridge vent system in place of the majority of the old turtle vents. This should help improve our attic ventilation. They also found and blocked a spot where birds were nesting inside the eaves. § Jon Wright is a general contractor in addition to being a roofing company. They did most of the work with their own crew; however, they did sub out replacing our copper bay window cover and that project was completed in a timely manner. JWI was available to do other repairs, such as painting, and repairs to our fence and arbor, but we chose to wait on most of that work.. § They replaced everything down to the roof decking, including the felt/tarpaper. Many roofing contractors like to reuse the old tarpaper instead of replacing it to save money. When Jon Wright removed the old tarpaper they were able to pinpoint the source of a persistent leak that had been plaguing us for years. They replaced rotted decking and put rolled metal roofing as well as ice and water shield in the valley to prevent the problem from recurring. § The crew was friendly, easy to talk to, and kept the work site very clean. After completion, they cleaned up well, using a magnetic device. We found surprisingly few nails subsequent to their final cleanup. § We did purchase a few upgrades that we thought were well worth the cost. Rob was great at explaining various options and upgrades that were available, but he was never pushy. We appreciated his honest approach and dedication to ensuring quality work. § Communications were A+. Rob kept us informed at every step. If we sent an email or left a voice mail message, Rob responded back to us immediately. § Many of our neighbors that used other roofing companies waited for months to get their roof done. JWI worked around our summer vacation schedule and got things done in a very timely manner once we gave them the go-ahead. Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of workmanship and the customer service we received from Rob and Jon Wright Industries.
Description of Work: Jon Wright Industries replaced the roof on our home and repaired and repainted our chimney and a dormer window. Quality work overall and great attention to detail.
