The work was done well within one day by a single worker. The one issue of note is that we didn't receive the bill after a couple weeks, so we called and they mailed it to us. Very happy with the work and will use them again for any roofing repair work.

I took a bunch of photographs of the roof and chimney and emailed them to Jon Wright on Memorial Day. He responded the same day! Gave me a good price and a detailed description of the work. They contacted me the next day and scheduled the work the day after. Jose performed the work - he was prompt, courteous, and the repair looks great.

I will not be using this man's services. I felt (A) he was not knowledgeable and (B) was attempting to take advantage of the situation.
Description of Work: Jon Wright came out and before he inspected the area needing repair, he simply glanced at the area and said "That's going to be a major job." He said he could repair the damage for $2,000 or put in a new shower stall for $4,000 to $4,800. When asked if a shower stall cost over $2,000, an answer was never given. He said that water had been leaking for at least 15 years and he would have to replace the ceiling, the floor, the walls, etc.---all before he actually dug into it. As he was leaving, he said he would have to come back with a chisel to actually look at the damage.

Response from Jon Wright Industries
I, Jon Wright, did not come out but Tom Fracaro did. He did not meet with [Member's name removed] but with [Member's name removed]. [Member's name removed] could not understand Tom because he appears to have suffered some sort of trauma. He told Tom that Tom needed to talk to his sister, then his mother and his landlord. He meant [Member's name removed]. The place is so filthy Tom wanted to get out. He couldn't breathe. He did talk to [Member's name removed] and explained almost as she said he did. He wouldn't know how bad it was until he tore it apart. The leak(s) had been going on for years. He repeated to her several times that you can't know the extent until the area was opened up but he did give her a price range. I don't believe [Member's name removed] has set foot in this home and if she has then she should do something to help this poor man, her family member we beieve, out of this health risk environment: black mold, bugs, trash and cat urine. Tom had no place to write the proposal except on the side of the refrigerator. Therefore the proposal is written very sloppy. No remodler can determine the extent of the damage from a leak that has been going on for about 15 years or more. The shower handles had never been caulked since they were put in. Tom does not have x ray vision but he knew the minimum and maximum prices. He said he'd probably have to replace everything. She said "As he was leaving, he said he would have to come back with a chisel to actually look at the damage."…but he added prior to formalizing a contract. Jon Alan Wright Owner

Late-night severe storm with hail and wind left us with 2 interior water leaks. Next morning we started calling Angie's List roofers. The first 3 could not come out to inspect the damage for 5 to 10 days. The 4th call to Jon Wright Roofing gave us Eric, Jon Wright's sales rep, who was able to inspect and temporarily repair our damage that day. He brought a repairman with him and told us that the temporary roof repair for the leaks would withstand future storms until permanent repair could be made a week later. After the roof repair Eric scheduled the removal and replacement of the gutter, and this was done in 1 day. Eric was very professional and attentive to the projects going on. He personally checked all work that was done and called us to make certain that the roof and gutter were not getting further damage from current storms we were having. He was more like a very good friend. We highly recommend Jon Wright Roofing.
Description of Work: Repair roof and replace gutter. Roof damage had caused 2 interior water leaks and shingles had blown off due to a severe storm with hail and wind. Gutter had been damaged by hail and wind.

Late night severe storm with hail left us with 2 leaks into the house. Next morning we called 3 roofers from Angie's List who could inspect and repair our roof from 5 to 10 days later. Eric, sales rep for Jon Wright Roofing was able to come out that day with a roof repairman with him. He gave us an estimate and temporarily repaired our roof to stop leaks and withstand any storms we might have until permanent repairs were made. We also needed a new gutter as a result from the storms, and Joh Wright was able to remove the old gutter and install the new one in one day. Eric was quickly responsive to our need and called afterward to check on the work. He was available to meet with the insurance adjuster and was always very responsible and professional as well as feeling like a good friend.
Description of Work: Repair roof damage from severe hail and wind storm by repairing underlayment of roof for leaks, then removing and replacing shingles; after roof repair our gutter was removed and a new gutter installed.

Jon Wright roofing returned my call for insight on a water leak in the garage. Set up an appointment to provide an estimate to repair showed up at the appointed time. Provided an estimate for repair. They quickly fixed the problem and invoiced me for the agreed amount. Solved the problems as promised, for the price quoted. Would quickly call them again for future roofing requirements.

In the process of buying and selling a house. As part of the inspection of the house we are selling, inspection said that we had some minor damage. Called Jon Wright and they came out and indicated that there was very minor damage and really wouldn't do anything at this point. But since we said we would take care of the roof, we had to have even the minor items taken care of in order to present something for the closing. Jose was at the house right on time at the time they indicated. He worked solid until it started to rain. Came back in following days and completed the job. This is the 3rd time I have used Jon Wright Roofing and would highly recommend them. They are punctual and highly trustworthy. If they don't find anything, they tell you. They don't say you need something done when you don't.

This was my 4th roof replacement. Jon Wright roofing was by far the most professional and friendly I have ever delt with, starting with the first visit. They clearly explained all the products they offered, the benifets of each, and the cost. They never tried to steer me or pressure me into buying one product over the other. They answered all my questions. The installation crew was super. They took time to insure all aspects of the installation was done perfectly, at the end of each day they did a complete clean up. I have already had neighbors commenting on how great my roof looks. I have the feeling that I got more than what I paid for, so rare in this day and age..

Overall, the entire process of dealing with Jon Wright was stress free. They stood by what they had said and their price estimates. Our process of buying the house was very messy, but Jess (from Jon Wright) was supporting us during crazy times and was really calm. I obtained estimates from 2 different roofing companies and chose to go with Jon Wright even though their estimate was a little bit higher, the main reason was that I was provided with solid details that helped my trust their work and expertise. I work in the services industry and have extremely high expectations of other individuals providing services. In my line of business, I focus on what my client wants, why they want it and what is the best value to my clients. Jesse (from Jon Wright) excelled all our expectations. He paid a great deal of attention to our needs from the start and provided us solid education on the process and products. He personally came out to inspect our old roof and provided us a plan to upgrade our roof. He patiently collaborated with us during the messy closing process and provided daily updates on the status of the job. His team started the work on time and wrapped it up with 5 business days. Today, our roof stands out in our community and I am proud of the work Jon Wright has delivered.
Description of Work: I utilized the services of Jon Wright for replacing the entire roof of my 2200 sq. ft house which we had bought with a bad roof. I also upgraded the roofing with a radiant barrier, got the gutters covered and the chimney fixed and painted. They performed the entire work within 5 business days and left the premises very clean.

Description of Work: Redecked the house, replaced the roof on house, garage, barn and well house. Replaced gutters and installed gutter leaf gards. Replaced copper trim. We were looking for someone to replace our Hardie slate roof after 15 years. In the beginning BEFORE Jon came on board, we were getting the run around with our insurance adjuster. The insurance adjuster got some roofing guy to come out and try to sell us a much cheaper roof than what we had on the house, and I did not want a plastic roof. This is when I took it upon myself to find a roofing company I could trust and understood what I wanted. I called around a few places and did some homework, then realized that the TrueSlate Roof had to be installed only by GAF certified roofing companies, so this narrow my seach to about 10 companies in Texas. The first company came out and looked at the adjusters paperwork ,he knew it was going to alot of work and money since we have four structures. We talked for an hour and he left, as he was leaving I said "are you going to get on the roof"? and he said" I don't need to, it needs to replaced and I will get back with you". He leaves and thinks he has the job. We did not sign a contract. After a few days it really bothered me that he never got on the roof. So here I go again looking on the GAF website to find the WRIGHT roofing company. I called Jon Wright Roofing Company and he made an appointment to sit down to look at all options we had with the insurance paperwork and he realized their was something missing right off the bat. The adjuster forgot the barn, one of the other structures on the property. So we were getting short changed by the insurance company, something the other guy never noticed. Jon got up on all four roofs , took pictures and even ask to go into the attic to see the ventilation. He said this is very impotant to see the inside of an attic. This sold us on Jon. We decided to set up a meeting with our insurance adjuster angent and Jon before we started this job. This was fun. Six months later after dealing with all those other people the roof started to go on. Jon was the one behind us getting our beautiful True Slate roof, if not for him I think we would still be sitting here with a old leaky roof. Jon was very friendly, and he gets the job done, and goes all the way to help the customer. When we drive in we just look up and say what a beautiful roof. Thank you Jon. Did a great job from start to finish with great professionalism.
Description of Work: Great job done. Professionalism great also. Had some complications, but all was taken care of immediately. Will use this company again. My roof was reroofed due to a scam company who did a poor job and had to go to the manufacturer of the shingles and got certificates from them to pay for the reroofing job. Called Jon Wright and they took care of everything with no stress to me.

To summarize - I will use Jon Wright roofing for any future roofing needs. Ryan Scott, Sales, is prompt, courteous and professional. He does and good job of explaining things. (Being an engineer, I ask a lot of questions. I want to understand things to a deep level than most.) In March 2012 a major thunderstorm was heading toward Rockwall. Ahead of the storm were heavy winds. The wind blew off part of the ridge cap shingles on the roof. I called Jon Wright. The office assistance was courteous. I explained the situation and that a major storm was about 3 hours away form hitting us. She responded and had a crew out to our house in about an hour. They were able to complete a temporary cover of the ridge prior to the storm. The following week Ryan Scott, Sales, came out and inspected our roof. Ryan felt there was enough hail & wind damage to file a replacement claim with our insurance company. In brief, the insurance company did not believe there was significant hail damage for a roof replacement. With Ryan's help we had a a second assessment with a different adjuster. This adjuster was much better. Ryan was very active in working with the insurance company; trying to get us the proper settlement. In the end, the insurance company paid for the ridge replacement and replacement of gutters and part of the fencing. Ryan reviewed our roof and attic ventilation, recommending a ridge vent and additional soffit vents. We agreed and had the work performed. The gentleman who performed the work, Jose, was very good. When the work was completed, he inspected what he did and then cleaned up the waste/debris from the work.
Description of Work: Replaced ridge cap shingles which blew off during a storm. Also, installed a ridge vent and soffit vents to improve attic ventilation.

Just about everything that could go wrong with this job did. Knowing that this company came well recommended and was also used twice by other family members may have made me a little lax on making sure things were progressing. I turned it all over to the project manager and asssumed all would be taken care of. Not so. As I had also never had a homeowners claim it was even more convoluted. Many, many things went wrong from start to finish. I cannot say I am very happy with the experience but the only saving grace and the only reason that final payment was made was because Rob Ross stepped in to ensure that the job was completed and made every attempt to reestablish the reputation of Jon Wright Roofing. I know for a fact that the materials used are the very best quality and that the company makes no shortcuts --- their roofs are the best around and that is why I choose this roofer. They are certified by GAF as master roofers ...so I guess that is worth it all in the end. I do believe that my experience is not representative of most of his customers. My criticism would lay squarely on the owner of the company and he should have made direct contact with us after he was aware of all the problems that went on. That is just good business sense. WE were also probably a little too nice about all the mishaps. If Rob Ross is at the company in the event that this happens again (Lord please NO more roof damage!!!) we will return to Jon Wright Roofing.. April 4 After my final meeting with Rob Ross today, I am further enlightened about some issues. This is an honest company that does great work (as stated above) and wants their clients to be completely satisfied. I am satisfied.

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home and the inspector recommended we have a professional roofer check the integrity of the roof on the prospective property. I checked on Angie's List to find a roofer with good reviews. I called Jon Wright Roofing and talked to Rachel who said they would be happy to come out and check the roof and she would have Eric call me and we could set up a time to meet at the home. Eric called me back a couple of hours later and we scheduled an appointment for 11:30 AM on February 19th. I told Eric I would be driving in from another town about 60 miles away and would meet him there at 11:30 for the inspection. The Realtor and I drove to the home and arrived by the designated time. When Eric had not arrived by 12:20 PM, I called John Wright Roofing to find out if there had been a delay. I talked to Rachel again and told her the appointment had been made with Eric and she asked me to hold for a moment. Eric answered the phone next and said his truck had been put in the shop unexpectedly that morning and he wouldn't be able to make the appointment. I asked why I hadn't been contacted to cancel or reschedule and he said he had gotten busy and had forgotten to call me. Making 120 mile round trip just to meet him, and not being contacted to save me from that drive, was not a good feeling. He asked me the name of the seller's Realtor and he said he would contact her and call me back in two or three minutes. It is now over 24 hours later and I have still not heard from him. The company, by looking at their rating by other members, should be a good company with which to work. However, my experience was definitely not up to par with their rating. I would not have been as upset if they had called and explained about the truck and that they would not be able to meet me at the appointed time. But the time wasted because the roofer "got busy and forgot to call", in my opinion, is not acceptable. We have the house under contract to purchase and have a very limited amount of time to get everything accomplished before closing. The time lost on a wild goose chase could have definitely been used more productively.

Response from Jon Wright Industries
This is Jon Wright. I've contacted Eric and confirmed her story. I apologize for Eric's lack of follow through. He was with our supplier and had just recently come to work for us. He has always been professional and admits to having forgot to call back when his truck broke down. He had to buy a new one. Below is his recount of the events: Member (I've deleted the last name and address for privacy reasons, Jon) Royse City Angie's List needs asap// they are buyihg house// roof saggin, rotten rafters over garage.. Needs estimate (Above is the original request) Eric's response: I received the lead (email from Victoria) at 12:28 on Monday. I had two other inspections to do in Dallas that afternoon and I did not notice that there was no phone number attached. I called Victoria after my second inspections and she got me Member's phone number. I called before leaving my second inspection, in Park Cities. The lead said that they needed the inspection asap so I headed to Royse City. Member called me back as I was pulling into the driveway. There was I locked gate on the property. Member told me that she was meeting her realtor from 11:30 to 12:30 the following day and asked if I could meet them there. I said I would be there. The next day is when I had to take my truck in, they were just suppose to check it. I forgot to call Member before 11:30 to give her an update. She called me at 12:20 at the office, I asked if I could meet her realtor out at a later time. Her realtor said no that she would not because she is from Waxahachie. I called the seller's realtor to see if she could meet me so I could inspect the roof, I got her voice mail and left her a message. The seller's realtor (Caldwell Banker Apex, Rowlett) called me back ~1 hr later, she told me that she would not meet me because I was not "her roofer" and she was not going to drive from Rowlett. I was working on other things and forgot to call Member back, dealing with other issues. Eric We dropped the ball. We are sorry and hope the problems were resolved and the home sold. We act as a team and all of us feel bad. Hopefully we'll learn and continue to improve our communication.

Jon Wright Roofing did a complete re-roof for us after our roof was damaged by large hail. The job involved removal of the asphalt shingles and then remove the old wood shakes roof that was underneath the asphalt shingles. Quite a job with a lot of labor just to remove the old roof. After removing the old roof, then installed a new roof deck of OSB with radiant barrier, premium felt, premium shingles, upgraded ridge, new drip edge, metal valleys, new lead roof jacks and vents, and a new custom chimney cap made to match the original that was damaged by the hail. They also improved the attic ventilation by adding additional soffit vents. Very nice job with good workmanship. Good cleanup after the work. Had a couple of very minor cosmetic issues and they returned quickly and fixed them. Robert Ross, the salesman, was great, kept us informed all along the way, answered any questions, and was always available by cell phone and email, and really stayed on top of the job to make sure everything was as it should be. He initiated frequent follow-ups with us to make sure we were completely satisfied.

I am going to sound like a marketing guy for Jon Wright Roofing and for this I can only say one thing - he and my contact, Rob Ross, are two of the most honest and integrity-filled guys in the DFW area for roofing. Jon may very well have the best rep in Dallas for putting on a great roof, standing behind his work, and employing guys who honestly want you to have the best roof possible. It will cost for the upgrades and for the warranty - but if you can afford it, do it. I took about 50 pics and some videos (with permission) to document the experience. I work for a bunch of Neurosurgeons and I have learned to document everything because otherwise you can't learn from mistakes or teach properly. Here you go: After all the insurance wrangling (roof replacement due to hail damage) and quotes and selecting the upgrades (I did ask Jon Wright to come out to meet him personally - he is very passionate about his profession and doing the right thing), my roofing adviser, Rob Ross took care of the process from start to finish. 7 am: the roofing team has assembled at my house and begin tearing the existing roof down, they are working like dogs and I can hear the old shingles slide down my living room's roof to the backyard. 10 am: i hear this truck worm its way into my alley and I go outside to receive a bunch of shingles, storm guard underlayment, flashing, radiant barrier, nails, and vents. This is a huge load delivered by a flat-bed truck that lifts and slowly drops! 10:30: the team is pulling out the old plywood roof and throwing them onto the shingle pile. I am looking at a pic of this and see long staples sticking out every foot. Not a great thing to see, I would have preferred seeing nails. 2 pm: they have removed and replaced almost all of the plywood and replaced it with individually cut radiant barrier - one guy shouting the dimensions and another guy cutting. These guys are experienced. Now they are laying down the GAF Armor Guard synthetic material in place of regular felt. It doesn't have wrinkles and it is tight and perfect. Next they place boxes of shingles every 3 or 4 feet. 4 pm: the team has picked their staring point for the roof shingles and have started hammering - 3 guys are putting the shingles on from the bottom in a stair-step pattern - this is important so you don't get a moire pattern on your roof! 6 pm: the dumpster has arrived and the big pile of old shingles and plywood are unceremoniously thrown in. It is filled shortly to the brim. I found a piece of shingle (after the final trash pick-up) no bigger than a silver dollar that was left over - amazing! 7 pm: Rob drops off some insulation to be blown into the master bedroom for tomorrow - the guys are going to leave that part of the roof until then alone. Rob and Jon (with a few experts thrown-in) have determined how to fix a particularly vexing problem that I have in my house - it is hotter than anything in the master and come to find out - there is no venting for that room. 7 am next day: Rob comes and personally loads the insulation blower machine and fills the master br with attic insulation (R49) before the radiant barrier over the master is started. He inspects and re-inspects and is happy with the result. He also guides the team into where and how the new and improved venting should be placed and nailed. 4 pm: The guys are finished with the roof - it looks fabulous and the house is very appreciative because it can breathe now. Everything has gone to plan and we will get the gutters installed next week. The big dumpster is still here and I have heard that it is going to be in my driveway for a couple of days. I call Jon Wright personally to get this taken care of because he is forced to use a Plano contractor for this part. After talking with him, the dumpster is removed the next day. Gutters: the following week, Rob came out and (he actually was at my house checking and rechecking before, during and after the install making sure everything was handled correctly and he really was present and active and authoritative) talked with me about the gutters. I told him what color (from samples) and then I told him that I was going to (eventually) put a pool in the back yard. He helped re-site the downspouts and now I have only one downspout in the backyard! Perfect for when the pool gets here - no additional underground piping necessary. It looks great, too! Ok, I am running out of time - so here is the bottom-line: Jon Wright Roofing is hands-down the best roofer, the best GAF-certified roofer in Dallas and maybe the country. I expect my new roof to give me years of service and with this crazy Texas weather, I am self-assured that me and my family made the right choice, the right investment - see, I sound like a marketing guy!
Description of Work: Replaced the roof, replaced the gutters, replaced 1 fogged window, replaced 2 screen, replaced whirlybirds with state-of-the-art venting system, determined where insulation was needed and installed insulation. They recommended some upgrades that have proven very beneficial even after 2 months of living in the house after completion: radiant barrier roofing, upgraded shingles, upgraded underlayment, upgraded venting, hurricane clips, hand nailed shingles, and purchasing a GAF warranty. The radiant barrier is immediately noticeable as the utility costs appear less expensive (not enough time has elapsed yet) and the house is a more constant temperature. The attic is cool and comfortable now and even though it was expensive, it was an expense that has already proven its worth. The other thing worth mentioning is that the upgraded shingles are impact-resistant. Not only is it great-looking, but they add additional sound-proofing and the shingles are 40% heftier than normal. But here is the great thing: Texas law requires the insurer to give me, the homeowner, a discount. For me, the cost of $2500 will be absorbed in lower premiums in 2 years.

Overall great! But sales people need to talk to workers. I chose company because they replace all existing with new material - but this did not happen - old felt was not replaced and nor was storm guard used in valleys, skylight and rakes - wish I could speak Spanish to tell workers.
Description of Work: New roof - overall great! Love the local person doing job and length of company in business. New vents added which helps reduce heat in attic. Products looked superior that they used.
