Great job all around. Roof, Gutters & Fence & Windows look great. A couple of things about Jon Wright Industries and the reasons I chose them are: 1) They inspected my attic. JWI was the only contractor that said they needed to go into my attic. In the attic they noticed that the soffit vents and gable end vents I have on my home were not allowing any air into my attic. That was the reason my attic was so hot. I purchased solar powered power vents which they installed facing south. I mention that because they pointed out to me that my neighbors roof has solar powered vents with the solar element facing north where the sunlight can not get to it. 2) They assured me (and followed through) that they were going to remove all the material on my roof including the old felt, valley material, drip edge, etc. 3) They cleaned up every day. Our roof was under construction during the Thanksgiving Holiday. I had 20 family members over that for Thanksgiving, and if you had not noticed the material yet to be used, then you would not have even known any construction was going on. 4) Scott my sales person kept me informed throughout and responded to emails right away. 5) Jon came out to inspect the completed work. 6) I was able to purchase a better warranty called a GAF Golden Pledge Warranty that most contractors can not even offer. It gives my 50 years of non-prorated coverage for the materials and labor if anything goes wrong. 7) The managed the entire project and provided one fair quote for all the work including the gutters, fence & windows. They sold me some upgrades that I am glad I purchased even though it was tough to part with the cash. Now that its complete, I am glad I did it.

Well. He talked with us before hand. He And his crew came replaced the roof, cleaned up after they finished and left.
Description of Work: Replaced roof. I remember his name but it took me awhile to remember whT he did for us. It is so easy to remember bad service, much harder to remember good. I gave him a good rating because I Did remember him....if he wAs just ok, I would not have. He replaced our roof after a bad hail storm. The date of service is probably incorrect but the system will only take a valid number. I don't remember the dollar amount either.

Excellent from the start all the way through the end. Jesse came out within a day or two and gave us an estimate explaining every charge and the benefits of each. He explained what is the best bang-for-the-buck for each item. The crew came out and was finished within a day and a half and the roof looks outstanding. The owner of the company came out after the work to inspect the job. I'm always surprised when we pay a bunch of money for a job to be done and the owner is nowhere to be found. Not with these guys. Mr. Wright came out and inspected the work which gives me a boost of confidence on the final product. If you need a new roof, there are a bunch of folks out there that can do it but I would highly suggest calling Jon Wright. They're straight-shooters and we never felt that there were padding the invoice unlike some of the other estimates we had. They worked with my insurance folks making the entire process one of the easiest projects I've had done on the house.

The roofing was done in a day, as expected. The new roof looks great, but had a small leak in the flashing, which they promptly repaired. The siding took longer than expected, but I have no complaints. The work was performed by older professional carpenters, who took their time and did a great job. Many of my neighbors have commented on how well it turned out. The painting crew carefully masked off the house, and they painted around the doors and windows as well as the Hardie that was installed. Far more than I expected. Painting was performed with the very minimum of overspray. The gutters look very good, and are larger than the ones they replaced. All in all, I'm very pleased with Jon Wright Industries, and would certainly use them again.
Description of Work: New hail resistant roofing shingles with ridge vents, also they removed the metal siding and installed Hardiboard siding, sofit, and facia around the house. House was then painted complete. New gutters were also installed.

I am very happy with the new roof and with the quality of work done. Ken Dunn of Jon Wright Industries was both the sales person and project manager. He did an excellent job presenting roofing options, creating a proposal, and overseeing the roof replacement work. I decided to upgrade my roof to a Class IV roof with more robust shingles and other features that provide additional protection from hail storms. The Class IV roof qualifies for lower homeowner insurance rates which I am now enjoying. I was impressed with the workmanship of the crew that installed the new roof which looks great. As part of the project I purchased the GAF Golden Pledge Warranty for the roof. It included an independent inspection by a GAF Enginner which occurred after the roof was installed. Since I am no longer into climbing up on high pitched roofs, It was nice to have an independent evaluation of the work after it was completed. The roof has performed well with no leaks in the few heavy rains we have had in the last 6 weeks. So I am happy with the new roof and would recommend Jon Wright Industries to others for roofing work.

We had twice before had roofers try to diagnose and repair a roof leak that caused rain water to leak into our garage and on our first floor patio that is situated directly under a second story deck that overlooks our back yard. Each time the roofers thought they fixed it, and for a short time, it appeared they had. But then the leaks returned. This time, we interviewed 8 contractors, none of whom appeared to actually want to do the work, and some of whom would not even come out and go over the problem with us in detail to be certain we knew what we would be paying for. Finally, we called Jon Wright Industries and their salesman, Ken came out to look at the problem. Ken prepared a professional proposal (the most impressive of the contractors that did proposals) to fix the problem and gave us an estimate that seemed fair, given the amounts we were being quoted by others (the proposals we had received from the 7 other contractors ranged from $1,200 to $15,000 - believe it or not). We were not clear that both Jon Wright Industries and us were in complete agreement as to exactly what was to be done for the contract price proposed, so we asked Ken if he could come out a second time, this time with the crew that would actually be doing the work, so we could be certain we were all agreeing on the same work that was to be done for the price. Ken was more than pleased to do that, and we had a second meeting on our roof and upstairs deck with Ken, and this time with Jose (the person who would actually do the work), and Victoria (in administration with the company), to be perfectly clear on the exact work being proposed. As a result of adding some additional work to do, Ken revised his proposal to increase it a bit for the additional work. We then agreed to the proposal, and Jose came out and did the following in two, long days of very intense work during the hottest part of the summer with almost no breaks at all: Brought the necessary building materials to the site, removed all of the roofing and flashing over the leak sites over both the pitched roof and the flat roof that covers the second story deck off the game room upstairs, removed entirely the plywood decking that forms the supporting surface on the upstairs deck, removed all the siding on the second story walls that come down to and meet the pitched roof and the second story deck, replaced the felt and shingles on the pitched room, replaced the plywood decking, felt, roofing material and flashing on the second story deck and along its perimeter where the walls meet the second story deck and where they meet the pitched roof, replaced the siding that covers the sides of the second story deck itself all around its perimeter on two sides, replaced the trim everywhere it had to be removed to do the work, calked at every place where calk was needed, cleaned up and hauled away several loads of the old worn out roofing material and siding that had been removed to do the work. I have never seen any contractor - bar none - work so hard to get work, to do the work and to satisfy the customers in my life. One man, Jose, did more work in two full days than any 3-man work crew I have ever witnessed, and I know since I spent part of my early years in construction, and I literally watched Jose do his work the entire time he was on the job. It has rained once - very hard - since the work was done, and there was no leaking. From my experience, it seems roofing contractors don't much care whether you hire them or not, and I admit that I was surprised by my experience to find that that is so. But it was particularly refreshing to deal with Jon Wright Industries, since they actually make you feel that they would like to be hired by you and to do the work you need done. Needless to say, we have been exceptionally pleased with our experience with Jon Wright Industries, and especially with their employees, Ken, Jose, and Victoria.
Description of Work: Repaired what had been a persistent leak in both a pitched room and a flat roof that the pitched roof met along one side of the flat roof that covers a second story deck that comes off of a game room upstairs and that overlooks our back yard, and in the process removed and replaced siding on the walls that adjoin the area involved and removed and replaced siding that covered the sides of the upstairs deck.

Thank you. Once I read only hire good people and you won't have to worry about how to get rid of them later. Jose has been with us since 1990. i was there when he became an American. He tells me we don't appreciate how great this country is because we don't know how bad it is elsewhere. He will not tell me how he votes but he does. he is a model employee and citizen. Ken came here when he went to a GAF sales seminar and saw how well trained the people here are. He told me he wanted to be like that. He is. Victoria came here at 21 years of age and is 25. She made manager at 23. She knew the products and how to make a schedule because she worked for a roofing wholesaler. Everyone tries to hire her. She is fiercely loyal. Do not slack on your job or she will show you toughness you can't believe. She demands excellence. We all do. Jon Wright

This is my second time using Jon Wright roofing. This round the work completed was a new roof on my residence. Rob Ross, sales manager, was very professional and available throughout the entire process. He noticed a code violation that existed from the original construction and had the insurance company pay for correcting that as well. He took over dealing with the insurance company and it's adjusters when they became hard to reach. I can't say enough about this company and it's employees. David Johnston

Jon Wright Industries was one of the first roofing providers we called after the bad hailstorms in Denton, based on their Angies List rating. Ken Dunn came out in April 2014 and did a pretty thorough examination of the damage, took a lot of photos, and then sat with me on the back porch and explained what was required and how Jon Wright goes about doing business. We waited several months, partly to ensure the threat of additional hail was over with for the year, and partly to get a couple more opinions. I ended up putting most time into a contractor with a slightly higher Angie's List rating, but this other company, after starting out strong, became non-responsive. I went back to Jon Wright in early July, and Ken Dunn remembered our back porch discussion in detail, came back out for another look, and provided a very competitive quote with a GAF upgrade and a ridge vent. He fit us in quickly and the work went well. Except that in order to make air flow from our eave vents up through the new ridge vent, they covered over our two gable vents. Unfortunately the temperature in the house went up right away, and the air conditioner started having trouble keeping up. Mr. Dunn came back out, examined the situation in the attic,, and re-opened the gable vents and told me that he immediately felt air moving through the attic again. The house was back to normal cooling-wise. We're happy with the work, and would definitely use Jon Wright again, especially if they send Ken Dunn our way.

Our house is 20 -25 years old and we had replaced the old masonite siding about 10 years ago, but decided to wait to do the eaves and overhangs. We had reached the point where waiting was no longer advisable. We were having some exterior doors, and one of the frames had been covered when they did the siding, so we were looking for someone that could remove the metal and recover the new door frame, and do the eaves and overhangs at the same time. David, the estimator came walked us through our options and even helped remove the covering off the door frame. This was all before we agreed to have the work done. Once we got the estimate back and agreed to do the work, it was scheduled for right after we were getting the doors installed. They were very accommodating about scheduling. When they started work, daytime temperatures peaked over 100 degrees, so the crew took off at about 3 PM. After the first 2 days we were concerned about the slow progress, but once the cool wave hit, work got done in earnest. Once completed, we were very impressed with the quality of work. It was as if the house had gotten a total face lift. The lines are clean and the craftsmanship was evident in every aspect. Metal seams were crisp and the installation on the underside of the eaves were consistently well done. Corners were neat. In the Off chance I needed to do this again, I would definitely call Jon Wright again.

Scott Craig came out and gave me an estimate, but asked me to first have the foundation checked because the broken roof supports seemed to indicate foundation trouble. After getting the foundation ok'd, we had the job done. They did a beautiful job! They replaced all the broken supports, but also built what looks like a beam going across part of the attic floor to solve a problem of a lack of support for our roof in one area of the house (no load-bearing wall to connect with there.) It looks very solid! And, after 8 months of plenty of weather testing, it has held up great! They also replaced some rotting floor boards and increased the floor area for storage as requested. If it weren't so hot up there, I'd be tempted to create a little retreat, I like it so much. This is a home repair that every time I see it, it makes me smile. It was a job well done, by pleasant people, with absolutely no headaches. Mr. Craig is very knowledgeable both about carpentry, roofing, and roof ventilation. He thoroughly explained things to me, and we also discussed possible improvements to the attic ventilation that I may pursue in the future. If I ever do, or if I need a new roof, I will call this company. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced broken stiff backs and roof supports. Installed 2x12 joist bracing at opposite eds of attic where load bearing wall support is unavailable. Remove attic storage and walkway boards and replace with 5/8 plywood cut to fit.

Based on reviews from Angie's list and personal recommendations we called Jon Wright's office and Ken Dunn came out, inspected the roof and gave me a detailed explanation of his recommendations. I asked him to come back and talk to my husband, which he did and then we agreed to have the project done. We both were very impressed with Ken Dunn's explanations and recommendations . The roofers were professional and the clean up was outstanding. We now have a beautiful and durable roof. I definitely would recommend Jon Wright and many thanks to Ken Dunn.

I had work done by Jon Wright roofing at the beginning of this year. The work involved replacing my roof due to hail damage. My wife originally included them in a short list of roofers to select from after doing research with BBB and Angie?s List. During the bidding phase, I dealt exclusively with Jesse. I must say that he was very professional, honest, and forthcoming with what they would have to do and what their pricing would be. Jon Wright?s bid to do the work was not the cheapest out of the bids that I received, but was competitive. I heard enough things during the discussion with Jesse to feel confident that they would not be ?cutting corners? on the work. After evaluating all bids, I made the decision to go with Jon Wright roofing. No doubt the deciding factors were the overwhelmingly positive responses on Angie?s List as well as my positive encounters with Jesse. The construction phase went very smoothly. The crew was very courteous, professional, and quick in getting my roof done. They made special arrangements to not get debris and nails in my backyard pool. Nails and trash in the yard was picked up afterwards. I was very pleased with the results, and it still looks very nice several months later. Without hesitation, I will use them for all my roofing needs in the future.

The salesman, Jesse Salazar was very polite and knowledgeable. Jesse explained everything in detail, and gave a clear-cut price for each service. We had a slight problem with scheduling but there were some rainy days. The office was suppose to call me to schedule but did not and I had to call Jesse to get it straightened out. The office was very friendly and apologetic and moved me up in their schedule. The roofer, Jose was very good, he arrived on time and started right to work. Jose spoke good English and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. His level of quality was very high and the job site was cleaned as if he had never been there. I would recommend Jon Wright Industries to any and everyone. Thanks Jesse!

Jesse Salazar was our Jon Wright representative. He was terrific; he listened to our needs and was very responsive to questions. He and Victoria kept us well aware of the schedules including needed changes due to weather. Our roof suffered hail damage; the job required a new roof and gutters, the new roof and gutters look great. We also discovered issues with our chimney flashing, they did an excellent job replacing the old incorrectly installed flashing with new correctly installed flashing ? this was no minor task as a part of the chimney had to be disassembled. They also retro vented the attic ? turned out the builders had added metal soffit vent grills without cutting holes in the soffits. We are very pleased with the work. The house looks great and the attic is much less hot. By the time the job was done, three different crews worked on the project, roofers, gutter installers, and the ventilation guy. Each was very professional and timely. Based on our experience we are happy to recommend Jon Wright Industries.

Truly a 100% improvement in the look of the home!!! Contracted help worked efficiently and cleaned up well; their work so far seems to be fine even with the high winds we have had recently. Why a D? Horrible problem resolution, a mis-measurement by the project manager and several confirmations regarding the same question asked by me lead to an out of pocket expenditure to a sub-contractor for more work done. On top of these issues, I requested information on the product warranty-I got nothing. Each of the checks I wrote was not cashed for over 7 days (the first one took 14 days-the second approximately 10 days) - Poor representation of the company overall.

Response from Jon Wright Industries
Here is my understanding after talking to the client, the project manager and the gutter man: We did miscalculate the job but not the gutters where the complaint is. The miscalculation was to the client’s advantage and we lived with our error. The job is beautiful and professional. The problem arises from the client changing his mind. He explained to us and our gutter vendor, who we have used for about 30 years, what he wanted and we did it. He later removed his rain barrels and asked us to extend the downspouts to the ground. The work was already completed according to the contract. We were never asked to remove the rain barrels. Period. The gutter man returned to see what we could do to fix his complaint but the client wanted us to replace the short downspouts with ones that went to the ground. The client paid the gutter man $145.70 for the downspout replacement. We did what we supposed to do and did it well. So the client removed the rain barrels and wanted us to pay for the need for longer downspouts. He should have stated that from the beginning and he knows it. The client even agreed that there might be additional charges before the job started because of his strange requests. Before we did any work the client told my project manager that he would pay for any changes for additional tie in to the rain barrels above the contract. We always try to do our best and admit when we are at fault. We have few bad reviews and do not make excuses.

Jon Wright Roofing Co did a good job. The inspector came out afterwards, and there were some minor issues after the work was done, but Jon Wright came right back out and took care of it. They did a really good job.
Description of Work: They did my roofing.

I had noticed several homes in Allen getting new roofs as a result of a hail storm that occurred in early April. I called two roofing companies to inspect my roof. One company was not able to come out till the beginning of June while Jon Wright was able to come out the following day. David Votava (project manager) showed up on time even calling 30 minutes prior to arrival to make sure it was convenient for me. David inspected my roof and informed me that I did not have hail which was a relief. David was very informative about options available for my roof replacement (when the time comes) as well as options to make my home more energy efficient. I felt very confident in his knowledge and professionalism. I would not hesitate to use Jon Wright Roofing to replace my roof when the time comes.

It went pretty well. Never met the contact person Mr Hernandez. He was going out of town but he got someone over fast to repair some missing shingles right away. There was a period where he was gone and I was out of town and the weather was really bad. So we didn't have much contact then. It was strictly a one person job. But I think the work was done well. I would use them again. I imagine they are not the cheapest but they seem to know what they are doing.
Description of Work: Replaced missing shingles and glued and nailed flashings on pipes.

I would definitely use them again. Professional and courteous all around.
Description of Work: They installed new windows in my house. David, who handles siding and windows, was prompt in getting his guys out, and was available to answer my questions and concerns. They did a great job, including a good clean up.
