They advertise a $99 special. However, I was told there will be a $15 charge for bringing equipment out. They couldn't really explain to me what the charge was for, and they won't do anything without it, so they should just say $114 special. I would pay that, but their dishonesty with trying to keep it under a hundred dollars was not a good endorsement. I chose to go elsewhere.

I hired this company through Home Depot for HVAC tune up. When the guy arrived, he called it diagnostics instead, and hosed down the AC condenser coils from outside the casing only after my repeated nagging to clean them. This company’s representative left me with a $2k estimate. One of the items on the list was the replacement of the AC unit’s contactor. Guy claimed the contactor was broken, and showed me how it was broken. I happened to be an engineer, asked a few questions, and came to the conclusion that the contactor was fine, and it is still functioning properly at this time. It doesn’t matter to me, as a consumer, whether or not the technician had made an honest mistake in the diagnosis, what would’ve happened if I didn’t care to look into it was the unnecessary expense of $290. The rest of the estimate consisted of legit offers, but I decided not to hire them for any further work, and my rationale is, if they could not perform a $69 task properly, why would I hire them to perform an additional $2k worth or services?

Two workmen showed up to do the work and said it would take a couple of hours to do the work. They sprayed the roof deck with paint (radiant barrier???) and sprayed insulation in the attic. Then they told me they could not finish the job because they didn't have the proper equipment. Told me they would be back the next day to finish. No one has been back nor has anyone called about finishing the work. After they left, I went into the attic and the sprayed insulation is not at the level it should be. Large part of the attic barely has any spray insulation. The existing soffit vents do not have baffles. I can see only one light dam and there should have been 4 more installed. I contacted Home Depot fraud department because my credit card was charged two days before the work was even started. I have disputed the credit card charge. The only reason this company was even allowed to give me an estimate was because of Home Depot. I have since checked this company out and there is a history of this sort of thing. They are not reputable and I feel they have ripped me off!
Description of Work: I was approached at Home Depot about having my attic evaluated for insulation. Home Depot set up the appointment and this company, EAS / ARS came that day and gave me an estimate for spray-on radiant barrier, spray insulation, installing soffit vents and adding a wind turbine.

They were very pleasant, on time and professional. THey couldn't do some of the roof work because we had had ice the day before, but they rescheduled quickly to come back and finish that piece. I don't yet know how much this radiant barrier will save me in terms of summer A/C bills but hope to see real savings. I would use this company again based on my experience.

Everything went well, and it was a good experience. In fact, they did such a good job that I signed a maintenance contract for them to service the unit twice each year.

We found them through Home Depot Services when we were looking to add insulation to the 39 year old home we just bought. The "no-hassle" "no obligation" quote was truly "no hassle" and "no obligation" but we only wanted insulation and did not want to pay for a radiant barrier at this time. 90 days after the quote, I called ARS at (214) 637-7700 to ask for a quote for Insulation ONLY. I was expecting the price to be roughly $800 to $900, but it was $1,200. I was also expecting the quote to cover 12 - 15 inches of insulation, and the new quote only covered 8 inches. However, I decided to proceed. The service work was scheduled for the very next day. I was told they would arrive between 10am and 2pm. They arrived at 10:05. They were polite and clean, and efficient, but left before completing the job - as they said our covered porch and garage were not part of the service quote. I called the office to explain that I felt they left with the job only 1/2 way completed, as the attic over the garage also covers the dining room and part of a bedroom; and the "covered porch" is actually considered an extension of our living room - not just a patio. The office sent the technicians back to the house within the hour. This time, not only did they insulate about the covered porch, but also over the dining room & bedroom and most of the garage. They left greater than 8 inches of insulation and I now feel that I got my money's worth. Thank you to the management staff that acted so quickly to resolve my issues.

The day they were first set to install, they did not arrive as schedulled. At that time they were 2-3 hours late. I called and was told the truck had broken down on the road. After a few calls back and forth, I reschedulled for Monday, July 8th. on the 8th, I received a call to see if they could arrive one hour early. I met them at my house and they performed the work. The installation crew did a great job. It was the original schedulled time that sort of soured the whole deal. It was hard for me to understand it took so long to find out they were not coming. I don't know if is the radiant barrier, the additional insullation, or both but, my house does appear to be cooler after their work.

It went great. Unfortunately it rained on the day they were supposed to come out and no one called me to tell me they were running late and I had to reschedule. When they did come out they were fast and got the work done efficiently. The only other issue we had is we used a credit card from the company that E.A.S. goes thru and we were told one thing about how the card works via the salesman vs what the actual company told us. (6 mon vs 1 year no interest so make sure you check that cause we got a surprise on that when we got the first cc bill) They offer good prices and good discounts. so far the house is much cooler. Sorry I cannot remember the approximate work date. I would use them again, they do a great job!

The original projection of bringing down my attic temp dramatically has not been achieved; however, the reduction has made an impact. It may take several years to realize the cost of the work; yet, I feel if I did not have the work done things would only have gotten more and more expensive. Last summer, my highest bill was $478. I would recommend EAS to fellow energy-saving consumers that are seeking a company with a good reputation and a successful track record. They are not the cheapest, but definitely know what they are doing.
Description of Work: My 4800 sf house was 10 years old when we purchased it in 2010. The first summer saw electric bills over $600 each month (esp due to the perpetual use of the A/C). In May 2011, we decided to act proactively for the upcoming summer. We had EAS come to the house for an estimate and were advised by the rep to have the following work: 3 solar-powered fans, radiant barrier, additional insulation & additional venting. The work was completed by two separate teams on two separate dates, but was completed to my satisfaction. Incidentally, the radiant barrier was mixed in my drive way and some drips & shoe marks were left behind. The workers were professional and cleaned up after themselves.

Someone in Home Depot asked if I would like a free energy audit. I agreed and scheduled for the following Saturday. EAS showed up and took a quick look in the attics and around the front exterior of my house. They recommended radiant barrier and additional insulation. The price seemed reasonable, around $1 a square foot, along with a 10% discount due to the time of year. I told him I would think about. He called me several times afterwards trying to get me to schedule. If you want radiant barrier and insulation, this seem like a good company, but a true energy audit was not performed to extent that I expected.
Description of Work: "Energy Audit"; bid was not selected due to further price comparison, however price seemed fair.

everything went very smoothly from start to completion. the salesman was very pleasant to work with and gave me a price i could live with. th fe installers were great and did not make a mess. even finding a loose cable connection and taking care of that for me.
Found them through Home Depot as the preferred insulation installers However, all they wanted to do was sell me radiant spray-on barrier and throw in some insulation as an afterthought. I told them beforehand I was not interested in that product and wanted only insulation. However, the rep did not listen and continued to try to convince me to buy it. I asked him if the product was so great on its own, why do they refuse to spray it unless they add a bunch of insulation? Regardless of if you believe in the merits of the product, no salesperson will be successful without listening to the customer. I would not recommend or trust this company.
Description of Work: Representative gave "hard sell" pitch trying to convince me to buy radiant barrier. He did not listen to my needs and therefore I did not use his service.

The estimator, Dino, spent approximately 4 minutes 'evaluating' my house. He was 30 minutes late, but called to tell me he would be late. When he arrived, I told him up-front that I wasn't interested in having a radiant barrier put in. I truly believe that once he heard that, he was done with me. He never entered my attic, choosing instead to just poke his head up there for a 10 second inspection with a flashlight. He never learned what kind of existing insulation I had, nor did he inspect to see what thickness I had in the 98% of the attic that he couldn't see from where he was . He then came down, proclaimed I needed 10 inches of insulation throughout the house, and said he could do that for $2,500... but only if I acted today. I stared at him for a second, he held out his hand, said 'thanks,' and left. I guess the good news is it only took 4 minutes... So that others are aware, this is a Home Depot contractor.
