It turned out ok. My biggest complaint with them was the price. They were very prompt, and in their diagnosing of the issue. They came out in a timely fashion, and they completed it in a timely fashion.  They answered any questions that I had.

Called them since there was a sticker on my sink cabinet from when they did work to unstop a clogged toilet drain a few years ago.  This time, kitchen sink would not drain.  Previously used drain cleaner, and, after that did not work, removed the PVC pipes and snaked the drain myself, which still did not fix the problem.  Called ARS and was told someone would call me that day with a 30 to 40 minute window to stop by.  Received the call approx. 3 mins after speaking with the first person.  Plumber did not show up until approx 1.5 hours after the "30 to 40 minute" call.  What he lacked in punctuality, he sure make up for in skill and professionalism.  Ended up having to get on the roof to snake the drain, which worked.  Have determined this is something I will need to have done prob. once every few years so I'll definitely use them again.

It was very frustrating.  We had a leak so we had to take action immediately.  They did good work but charged at least 500 dollars too much. I feel like they took advantage of the situation.

ARS was sent to me through AHS warranty. Part of the problem is with AHS warranty. They rarely cover any of the repairs I need to have made. However, ARS sent the technicain out. The bathroom tub was spewing up black material when I would flush my toilet. He put a snake down to clear the drain. Once he left it did the exact same thing again, I called right away and they sent him back. He was certainly nice enough but said he would have to get on the roof to clear the lines through the vent. When I asked how much he would charge, he quoted a price. He called the office to check it out and they told him he couldn't do the work. So I spent $60 to cover the warranty co-pay and didn't even get any help with my problem. What company doesn't let their technicians on the roof to clear a stoppage. Huh? Many of the older homes in this area don't have ground floor piping. Why send a person out if they aren't allowed to fix it.  ARS offered no solution and left.  The technician was willing to do the work but I was given no reason why he coudln't do it.  Really?  Oh well there are plenty of plumbers who can do this work in Dallas.
I didn't give them a F becuase the technician seemed like a good guy and my home warranty isn't helpful. I"m sure they do good work fixing other things.

I have a ceramic tile shower and they told me I would have to tear the shower and closet out in order to make access and they would not get on the roof to replace the vent pipe. I ended up cutting a larger hole around the area the vent pipe fell through and had to repair the hole myself. I'm not sure why they couldn't have cut the hole themselves, or if they didn't know what they were doing. If this had happened to someone else that didn't know how to do that type of work, it could had cost them several hundreds of dollars.

Ron Cagle with ARS rescue rooter came out this morning to do our annual heating system check up.  We've been working with them for about two years now.  They are very responsive to our needs and questions.  Ron was very professional and knowledgeable.
They clean up after themselves taking dirty filters with them and always wearing the blue booties to not track anything in.  He explained every step that he performed and the details of our service plan.

My waterheater sprung a leak and was pouring out water. We could not get the water to shut off. I called ARS and told them I need someone immediately and was told they had someone available and they would send them immediately. After 20 minutes we finally got the water shut off. Over an hour after I called we still did not have a plumer so I called again and was told that someone would be there in 15 minutes. Since the water was turned off we cancelled them for the evening and told them to send someone the next day. I received a call at 8:30 A.M. asking if it was a good time to come out and I told them yes. A plumber showed up an hour later. The work performed was good. I though the price was high. The service tech was professional but if you need service fast DO NOT call ARS

Called ARS about 10:30 A.M., they said they would have a tech at my house in less than 3 hours. I did not believe them so I went to eat and they called me durring that lunch ( less then an hour from when I had hung up the phone).  The office help had me call back once I was finished with my lunch.  I did and she sent a tech to my house with in a half hour.  The tech found a bad capacitor in the outside unit.  He oked the price with me and replaced the capacitor. The unit is cooling again and the tech was finished and gone in less then 45 minutes.

They were good job and did the job right. Their price was good. They were honest with me.  The duct work and filter system were there only from the last one year so they stuck with them which was good. I liked everything about their service. They were very efficient. I like honest and would pay a little bit more for that. They finished up doing a good job. Their responsiveness was excellent. They did what they said they would do. They were very professional.

I would highly recommend them. They did a good job. The service technician gave me a lower price than the salesman. The price I got was very good. They found a coupon for me so I could get a better price. They went above and beyond.

They would not refund me and I had to pay $8000 for the furnace and air conditioner to be replaced. They are the worst. They said they would guarantee their work, but when I tried to get my money back they refused to give it back.

The crews arrived on time and went straight to work.  They placed drop cloths on the floor from the front door to the attic access door.  Removing old insulated ductwork is a very messy job, but they were very careful and totally cleaned up afterwards, both inside the house and outside in the yard.  In addition to replacing the ductwork, they suspended the heater, which had been installed on the floor of the attic, and now we don't hear the heater when it is running.  Except for having to vacuum (old insulated ductwork sheds and fine particles go everywhere) after the crews left, we had to do very little cleanup.  Outside, we couldn't even tell that the yard had been covered with debris, because they bagged up and carted everything away.  While they were working, they were very quiet, polite, and always answered our questions without making us feel ignorant for asking.

I called the company in the morning because the shower, tub, and toilet in our master bath were stopped up. The plumber arrived within a few hours. He was able to use the clean-out to snake the line clean. The  service was guaranteed for 90 days. So far, there has been no recurrence of the blockage. The clean-out was $200. The plumber also provided a container of their preventative drain cleaner at no additional cost.

The company sent another technician to view the drain with a camera to determine the cause of the backup. He pointed out build up in the line and recommended jet cleaning the entire house. He quoted a price of $600 to do the service during this call or $800 at a later date. We declined this service.

The plumber also replaced the stopper in the tub that was no longer holding water. This service cost another $200.

Their prices are high, but they do good work and respond quickly. Next time I need a plumber, I will search for one that can provide the service for a lower cost.

Right in the middle of a 40 day run of 100+ degree heat, one evening we began to smell something burning through our downstairs air vents.  We immediately turned off the unit, and called AHS to schedule a technician.  ARS returned the call promptly the next morning, but we were unable to get anyone to our home for 4 days (we called AHS on Tuesday night and the appointment wasn't scheduled until Saturday morning).  However our second unit was working fine, and we were afraid that something very bad could be wrong with the lower floor unit, so we waited.  On Saturday morning, ARS called around 11am to let us know the technician was late, but they hadn't forgotten us.  At 2, they called again to keep us updated, and at 4:30 called to inform us the tech was on his way.  When the technician arrived, he was very polite, efficient and found the problem very quickly -- it was a burned out capacitor.  He let us know that because of our fast action turning off the unit, the fan and other parts were fine.  He replaced the capacitor and everything came back on and works great.  Total cost was only $60 (we are assuming that AHS covered the cost of the actual call while we purchased the part).  We were very happy, and truly felt as if we had dodged a bullet -- we expect any AC repair to cost a fortune, so this was a very pleasant surprise.
So while we did have to wait for ARS to arrive, the technician was very honest and knowledgable, and I will call them again in the future.

Last year our 10 year old 4 ton A/C unit just couldn't keep up with the Texas heat - so we went to Home Depot and signed up for service and evaluation from their home services.  ARS came out and pronounced that the issue was our 4 ton unit was too old to fix and too small for our square footage.  They promised us that a new 5 ton unit would fix all of our issues and let us enjoy 73 degree indoor comfort on 108 days. (Pretty much a direct quote from the sales guy.) Fast forward to Late May 2011 - the new unit is freezing up just like the last one did!  The ARS repair guy came out on a Wednesday and soon called in his supervisor.  It seems the issue now is that we don't have enough airflow - they suggested the installation of more ductwork. $$$ WOW $$$ OUCH $$$.Talk about the upsell!  So in exploring other options with the service supervisor he meantioned a less expensive option called a DUMP.  I arranged to work from home last Wednesday - and ARS sent 2 techs out.  But with the wrong ladder, no grills and completely unprepared.  So they rescheduled for today.
So today they were supposed to be here between 8AM and Noon to install a new really big duct over the stairs and cut a new intake grating.  The idea is instead of lots of new ducts this will increase the airflow through the unit at lower cost.Well... it's 1:30 PM and I am still waiting.  I just got off the phone with them - apparently I have multiple service calls pending for today - one morning and one afternoon - we'll see if the make it to the afternoon one.  So far, I must say I cannot recommend ARS to anyone.

EDIT - It is now after 5PM - still no technicians.  Three calls to ARS later and all they can say is they will get to us eventually and will report our unhappiness to their manager.  So much for my wife and I doing anything with the family today or hitting the movies tonight.

Had an A/C problem with the unit cycling on and off, but seemed to resume normal operation later that night.  Called American Home Shield as per my home warranty since the problem would probably reoccur, they referred me to ARS.  ARS called the next morning (Thursday), and we agreed on the following Monday between 8am and noon as we were going out of town (4 days in advance).  At 930 Monday morning I called ARS to attempt to narrow down their time or at least get an idea where I was on their list -- answer "we're waiting for the next available technician."  At 1145 I called again, same response, as well as at 430pm.  The technician finally rang the door bell at 711pm, right in the middle of dinner, of course.  He had no idea I had been waiting since 8am.  He proceeded to check everything out, but found no problems.

When the service was finally performed, they seemed relatively competent.  However, their scheduling operation rates an F in my book.  I understand it was hot and probably lots of people need a/c service, but don't give me a 4 hour window to sit at home, then miss it by 7+ hours with no information.   My time is just as valuable as anyone else's, and perhaps I need to bill them for the wasted hours with no information.  I've also told AHS I will not accept a future referral to AHS, we'll see where that goes.
