Called them to service Bosch dishwasher. Bosch gave us their name as a certified repair service in the Plano area. Our dishwasher had some type of slug in the bottom of it and residue in the drain. The repairman pointed his flashlight into the disposal and ran water in it, then looked at the line from the disposal and proceeded to recommend putting Magic Dishwasher Cleaner in it 30 minutes later. No firm diagnostic, just guesses all for the price of $127.73. He wanted me to agree to pay $49.77 to put a $5 bottle of cleaner in the dishwasher and charge me $21.48 for it - called it parts and labor of $24.50 to reach into the dishwasher and place it on the rack which he would not be around to see if it worked. When I challenged him on it, he then proceeded to give my another option - he could replace the line and I asked him why would he do that when he told me earlier everything looked fine between the disposal and dishwasher. He said it might help if the cleaner did not solve the problem - continuous guessing and more dollars. I thought I would cut my loss and just buy the bottle of cleaner and put it in myself which I told him we had done before when Bosch recommended it to clear residue on our plasticware. What a big waste of my time and money. He was here for 30 minutes and spent the first 10 minutes telling me stories about another client and his own recent backup problem, all of this on the clock for every 15 minutes it is $24.50! I guess that is what they call customer service, story telling while you are on the customer's clock. I would not recommend their service at all and I told him I was very aggravated with the charge. I don't mind paying a trip charge of $69 but to add $49 plus tax for nothing, very disappointing and then to call it diagnostic fees - what a joke! I should have looked at Angie's list first and reviewed the recent comments, my mistake I just assumed Bosch had vetted reputable service teams.

Used All-Tex for years but All-Tex no longer stands behind its service. GE Profile refrigerator water leak, water filter, housing and line replaced for $373.59 64 days ago. Same problem occurred today and All-Tex will charge a trip fee of $65 and labor instead of warranting its work. Will not do business with this company again. Buyer beware

Description of Work: Repaired an under counter ice machine. He came out well before Thanksgiving and had to order a part. Said it would be about a week. Three weeks later I called to find out what happened. They scheduled me in and that took another week. He showed up late and replaced part. The ice maker made ice for a few hours and quit again. Not happy!!!!

more than a month ago my refrigerator stopped cooing. I called ALL TEX parker and they couldn't come out for several days. when they arrived, the technician stated he needed to order a board and would call back. over a week later I hadn't heard back, so I called to inquire. the service manager took a few minutes to say yes they had the part and needed to schedule a service call and it would be the following week, which at this point was the day before thanksgiving. they arrived at 5:30 the evening before thanksgiving and installed the board and the unit cooled but was not repaired as the fan wouldn't run. this in fact was the reason that the unit originally failed as the heat from the lack of a fan damaged the board. Once again, he told me that a part would need to be ordered. 2 weeks later I called to inquire since I hadn't heard back. Jeannie copped a huge attitude when I inquired as to what was taking so long. she told me that they were waiting on parts which I believe meant that they hadn't yet been ordered them, since they were only coming form Mississippi. she told me they would call back when they arrived. I told her that I would expect them to be overnighted since I had now been without a refrigerator for almost a month. a week later they called and left a message that the part had arrived. I returned the call as soon as I got home at 5:15, but they aren't opened past 5. I am now waiting be scheduled to replace what I hope is the final part that will allow my refrigerator to work, hopefully to use over the christmas holiday. I don't know if the problem is that this is a warranty call or what. when I expressed my displeasure they told me next time I should just call the manufacturer directly, which is in fact what I had originally done. they directed me to All Tex. The lack of service and professionalism is pretty astounding. I will never voluntarily use this company again.

December 2012 I called All TexParker on the recommendation of Capital Distributing, Viking and Thermador to service my Viking pop-up venthood, Thermador icemaker in door of freezer column unit (ice not dropping out of door) , Maytag wine fridge and Uline undercounter fridge. Day before technician came water was leaking from Asko dishwasher and again the morning he came. Dec 3, 2012 Viking pop-up would not come on with touch pad installed in counter but would randomly pop up on its own so I told Rob this and that I believed there was something wrong with the touch pad. He told me that the touch pad could not be replaced on its own that the entire unit must be replaced at a cost of $1500 (est) since there is no plug or disconnect from touchpad to unit. I reluctantly agreed and he put unit on order sheet. Asko Dishwasher- I asked him to look at dishwasher since water was on floor. He looked at water and said that it had to be the way I was loading the unit based on where water was. He never opened the unit or looked it at all. Thermador icemaker. He told me that the unit could not be fixed because Thermador was no longer making it or any parts for it (unit was bought in 2008) Maytag wine fridge. He told me it would cost $600-$1000 to repair after a cursory look at it. Uline- he said it was thermostat would cost about $150 and would need to order parts. Total Charge $195.42 – no items repaired I contacted Thermador about not being able to have icemaker repaired they stated they would call back but instead AllTex said they would be pulling unit. Dec 21, 2012 Rob returns with parts to fix Uline and Viking. Uline repaired. Viking sent touchpad only with cord attached. Rob proceeded to complain that it wasn’t what he ordered and there is no place to attach this plug to unit. Thermador- icemaker unit taken to their shop which left water in door not operable. Total Charge $66.14 First week in January dishwasher will not stop draining, I have to turn it off at breaker. I called AllTex and said I wanted a different repair person other than Rob, they state that they can send someone else out for dishwasher but he needs to come out for venthood and fridge. I am not happy but reluctantly agree Jan 8, 2013 Dishwasher- Mike comes out and resets something, states I need new diverter and will call back with costs but it should be fine to use for the time. He calls next day, leaves a message with costs and I immediately call back to ask that it be ordered. Total cost $103.38 Jan 18, 2013 Rob returns Viking- takes screws off unit underneath cabinet then tells me it can’t be replaced because there is a bottom board on the cabinet holding the cooktop that must be cut out, he doesn’t have time, tells me to have my husband do it and call them back. THermador- reinstalls icemaker unit after solenoid was replaced in their shop. It cannot be tested until ice makes in a few hours. He has lost the covers for screws and tells me its not a big deal. Total Cost $503.11 Icemaker still doesn’t drop ice out of door. My husband looks under cooktop to cut out bottom and completely pulls out unit with no problem including the plug for the touchpad which Rob had stated did not exist. The unit had been left hanging by an edge and was bending and falling out. I called AllTex outraged that icemaker doesn’t work and clearly Rob was clueless about venthood touchpad plug and that I wanted the items fixed and he was not to return to my house. They argued extensively with me, said he needed to come out with Mike. I refused that, they reluctantly agreed to send only Mike. I called repeatedly about where dishwasher parts were and they always said they would call me back. Feb 14, 2013 Viking- Mike looks at unit, pulls out spice rack by touchpad and notices that plug is loose at that end. Replugs it, screws unit back in, reattaches vent hose and unit works fine. Apparently spice rack can hit touchpad cord. Thermador- Mike looks at it, calls Thermador who tell him after solenoid replacement unit shorts out and must be replaced at at cost of around $250. I tell him I am going to contact Thermador. Asko Dishwasher- replaces diverter, water still leaking. Upon examination there are holes in drain hose and it must be ordered. Total Cost $267.01 Viking now works but not icemaker or dishwasher. I call Thermador who agrees to pay for parts on icemaker. Several calls are needed to get dishwasher hose parts in and scheduled for repair. March 19, 2013 Thermador- icemaker unit replaced. Works fine Asko- drain hose replaced works fine. Total Cost $207.84

Overall, good. If you are in a hurry, you might want to check two or three companies to see how soon they can come out.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher stop running in mid-cycle on February 25, a couple of days later we called Alltex Parker and the earliest appointment we could get was March 7. The time slot was between 12:00 and 5:00 pm. The service tech arrived just befor 6:00 pm. It took about 30 minutes to find a burned out control board. We agreed to have the part ordered. The tech wrote up the ticket and we paid $98. for the service call and labor. The next morning, Alltex Parker called and said the new board would cost $200. plus the labor to install. They said the part would be in by March 13. We then contacted the Dishwaser manufacturer to see if they would provide any discount for the new control board since the dishwaher warranty had just expired in January, 2013. They issued an authorization number after I emailed a copy of the proof of purchase document. On March 13, Alltex Parker called and said they had the new board and the work order from the manufacturer. The earliest they could come was March 18. The tech arrived just before 10:00 am and quickly installed the new control board. The cost of installation was $24. The only negative to this experience was how long it took from start to finish. The work done by Alltex Parker very good.

I was immediately turned off by this company after speaking to their representative, Jeannie. Upon speaking to Jeannie, I was advised a "service call" cost $44 (much cheaper than the standard $89 other service companies in the area advertised ), several minutes later, Jeannie explained there would also be an additional charge of $24 per every 15 minutes that the technician was at my home ( thus, a 30 minute service call would cost approx $104, plus taxes, plus a fuel surcharge of $3.00 and additional costs for any parts necessary to repair my unit). What further turned me off was Jeannie's know-it-all "expertise" regarding refridgerators she's not seen or worked on. For NOT ever seeing my unit and NOT being a refridgeration technician, Jeannie, throughout the phone call continually diagnosed multiple problems with my unit, and also noted how expensive such repairs would cost.It was OBVIOUS to me during the phone call that this company is strictly OPPORTUNIST, diagnosing problems before ever seeing my refridgerator!! BUYERS BEWARE! I would DEFINITELY suggest shopping around and pricing other Mechanical service companies before hiring this company!!

Having broken the ceramic glass surface of my very expensive induction cooktop over the weekend, I called the vendor who was referred to me as the only Authorized Service center from the manufacturer's web site. Definitely they returned the call right away first thing Monday morning which I appreciated. After supplying all the information they called me about an hour later and started the conversation with "are you sitting down?" I did not appreciate this at all. They quoted me a replacement part at $660 plus an estimate of at least 90 minutes of labor at a cost of $150, "but we just don't know." Factoring in taxes, shipping, etc. I was looking at a repair of $900 to $1000. I just did not have $1000 to hand over to this company and felt compelled to research this more. Having researched other discount parts suppliers, the manufacturer actually sold me the replacement part for $250 savings over the quote which was even further cheaper than the discount supply houses online I located. I used the resources here on Angie's List to find another quality repair company who said this was a fairly easy replacement and would cost no more than $75. I bought the part and that gentleman did the work for an ultimate savings of approximately 50% of this company's "estimate". In fairness, they did say it was just an estimate but the part was already $250 more expensive. Technically even $75 was expensive as it took less than 10 minutes to replace. I'll never know if this company would have truly priced the actual time of service.

I have a Jenn Air double convection oven that is about 6 yrs old. The baking element had gone out (I found out after they diagnosed it). They sent someone within a week to come diagnose the problem ($74 trip and time charge). They had to order the part and then the next week scheduled the repair. The estimate for the repair was a little more than the actual repair. The repair person had to take the entire oven out of the wall and take the back off of the oven and replace the element. The part was only $99, but the labor was kind of involved and time consuming so the total was $237. The technician worked very courtesly and cleanly. I was very pleased with the end result. I have used them before to replace the water pump on a freestanding ice maker. I have come to trust this company.

See above. It went very well. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Our Bosch dishwasher was not cleaning well and eventually stopped running correctly. He came out and determined that the entire motor assembly had gone out. He got me an estimate and set up a time to come back and install. While he had the dishwasher open, he took out the wiring diagram because it usually is stored in a place that will get wet if the dishwasher breaks. He also reset the dishwasher within the cabinets and added some screws to the door to make it more stable. The small things count and they did a good job with the whole process.

I was shocked that the tech knew, from the make and model, what was still covered under warranty. He saved us quite a bit. The job only took about an hour. I was very pleased with the service.
Description of Work: Our Subzero refrigerator was not cooling. Alltex came out the day I called. The tech that came asked a few questions, checked around and found the problem quickly. He had the parts with him so he was able to fix while he was here. He also mentioned that a couple of things were still under warranty.

Appointment first thing in the morning, should have been right on time. Excuse was that he had to help another rep on a call. Was that the truth? Arrived about 90 minutes late for an 8:00 call. Of course the intermittent problem did not show up on cue. Rep, however, had seen the problem before, quickly disassembled the control panel on the unit and showed me the probable loose fan sensor connection on the circuit board. He jiggled it a few times and offered to replace the board for $350. I declined. Will wait until it gets worse, but since these loose connection problems are often so intermittent, that may be a long time coming.
Description of Work: Diagnosis of oven preheat problem (kept kicking off for a "F-34" air flow problem). The immediate probable cause was known by this serviceman from prior experience with this model, a Thermador double convection oven.
