+ 0 moreThe tech removed the toilet, gained access to the vent, behind the toilet by cutting a 12" X 24" hole in the sheetrock. He then cut the vent, too close to a leaded joint, and explored with a camera before clearing the clog with an auger. With no easy way to fix the vent, he attempted to seal it with black duct tape. He replaced the toilet using the old wax ring. All that was left to do was hand my 90 year old mother a bill for $800, stating he gave her a senior discount of $200.
Description of Work: Clear blockage in the main drain.

+ -1 moreThey charged her $830 for this, they were then for an hour, and left a mess. I found out, called and complained and the man who answered the phone said that he would send her a refund of $200. She has received the check. However, even with this meager refund, she was grossly overcharged and this refund only came after I complained that I felt they had taken advantage of a senior citizen and they are never to return to her home, ever. I have hired another plumber who is sealing and resetting the toilet properly. How this guy gets an A is beyond me. I do not ever recommend this company as I feel they use deceptive sales practices.
Description of Work: My 90 year old mother called AJ's as they were listed alphabetically in her phone book. She had a wobbly toilet that needed to be re-set, which should normally cost around $250.00. They came out, she was the only one at home, they pulled the toilet, and appeared to re-set it. When they flushed it, there was a back-up issue. They decided there was a blockage, and that they needed to run a camera through the pipes even though the blockage was at the shower, which was less than 2 feet away. They cleared the blockage, reset the toilet, shimmed it but never sealed it. And left it like that.
