They were able to get to our job sooner than originally anticipated, which we greatly appreciated. The two men who came to do the job worked quickly and efficiently. They explained what they would be doing and wasted no time. They cleaned up all left from job. We have used Accu-Find before. We will not hesitate to use them again. The estimate was right on the mark as well. This is a very nice group of people-those in the office and those who come out to do the work.
Description of Work: Fixed one water leak. They had to breakdown thru the brick outer wall and thru part of the foundation to find and secure the leak. They rerouted the line overhead thru our attic and insulated it .

Overall, the work they did was inspiring! I may someday, quit my job, and become a plumber because of this experience! Alas, I will never be as good Mr. Leach and his fine team so I will stick with my day job for now. If you choose this company, you will have no regrets!
Description of Work: Mr. Leach, the owner of Accu-Find Slab Leak Inc came out the same day I called regarding a slab leak. I could tell this man was a professional. He let me know where the possible problem was, what my options were and the range of cost depending on how I wanted to proceed. He told me straight out that they were booked up and might not be able to fix the problem immediately. This was a good sign to me. They were busy and in demand. He looked me straight in the eye and told me how it was. I knew these were the people I wanted to fix the problem. We scheduled a repair date and start time. They got started early and with surgical precision found the exact location of the problem. His crew is polite, clean, friendly and intelligent. Together, Mr. Leach and his crew, bypassed the leak quickly and cleanly. They have an ingenious method of preventing dust from flying all over the place {I'm not going to give away their secret!}. There was not a speck of dust anywhere from their work in my house. Amazing!

Top performance by the plumbers. Good customer service. Punctual time keeping. They knew their knowledge, didnt try to upsell me anything I didnt want.Throughly happy with Accu-Find. If you have a slab leak you would be a fool to go elsewhere. Prices were much more reasonable then other companies.
Description of Work: We walked into a hot water slab leak just after returning from a vacation. After doing some research and getting various bids, mostly from the top 10 hits when your search for a plumber on angies list I choose Accu-Find Slab Leak. They only do slab leaks so they know the best fix. Most other companies wanted to ether jackhammer the spot or tunnel. This seems completely dumb as his is only a tempory fix and will not protect that line from further leaks. Accu-Find wanted to reroute the hot water line. Excellent idea. The line is rerouted in the attic. So if anything ever happens again theres quick access with no foundation damage. Why would you repair a water line that could leak within minutes of the first fix? Top performance by the plumbers. They knew their knowledge, didnt try to upsell me anything I didnt want.Throughly happy with Accu-Find. If you have a slab leak you would be a fool to go elsewhere. If you find yourself with a slab leak beware that most insurance companies will only pay if their is water damage. If you have a job jackhammered you have extra cosmetic repairs i.e. carpet/tiles/furniture. Having the line rerouted only required small sheetrock damage.

Had a broken hot water line in slab under kitchen. Had hot water seeping up from kitchen/den floor. After one day water leak worked its way out under the slab into the side yard where it proceeded to form a lake. Tried several plumbers, all said it would be a couple of days before they could get out and all said they would have to locate leak and then jack-hammer through slab to fix leak. Called Barry Leach (president of company and this is second time I used them), he told me to shut off the hot water heater valve (to temporarily stop leak). When that didn't stop leak, he came out and installed new shut off valve which also didn't stop leak...he decided the hot water was "bleeding" through the water line. Anyway said it would be a week or so before one of his crews would be available to fix line, he said if I could get someone else faster to go ahead and do that. Later that same day he called and said one crew finished job much quicker than expected and could be there the next day. Crew came out (two guys), and quickly assessed that they could reroute water line into attic and NOT jack hammer up kitchen/den floor. They found water line which was leaking, it feed kitchen and bathrooms, and cut that line from the water manifold and sealed it. Then attached new "plastic" line (not copper), which can expand up to three times its normal size before bursting, to manifold and rerouted line up to attic and then "threaded" lines down wall in kitchen and bathroom. This involved minor cuts to the wall (one behind washing machine to attach to water manifold, one behind dishwasher for kitchen feed and one in laundry closet for bathroom feed), cost to repaid walls less than $100. The two guys were great, always telling me what they were doing, they were extremely courteous and professional and cleaned up after themselves. Net, I got a better permanent fix, with much less damage to the house and for much less cost. These guys are the best!!!

During the insurance investigative process for a foundation claim, Accu-Find identified a number of leaks in the sewer line underneath my foundation. These were so extensive, that insurance agreed to cover access/egress to replace and repipe the sewer line, which was the most extensive and labor intensive part of the project. I paid the actual repair portion. This was a very extensive project, covering about a 4-week period, during which much of my front and side yard was dug up, including landscaping close to the house, as well as removal of about 2'x3' of tile flooring in the master bath and cutting into drywall in the laundry room, two bathrooms, and the master bath. All of this was communicated clearly, accurately and well ahead of time by both Barry, the owner, and his crew. There were no surprises. Exterior excavation areas were well-marked for safety purposes. From the first communication with LeAnna in the office, until the final inspection by Barry, this company performed in a totally professional and competent manner. At the end of each day, work areas in my home were left clean and useable. The crew minimized the time that plumbing was not accessible, and notified me ahead of time. Due to the extensive nature of this project, it could have been a nightmare, but Barry and his crew did everything possible to insure that all went well, and that I was not inconvenienced. I am totally impressed, very grateful, and highly recommend this company!

I called Accu-Find and told them our insurance company's plumbers told us we didn't have a leak and the owner called me and said they stand behind their work and he would send them out again and if we didn't have a leak, he would refund the full amount which I thought was great gesture! They came out again promptly and we still had a leak. I called our insurance adjuster and he sent out the their same plumbing company again and their owner also came over and they found the leak in the exact same place Accu-Find had originally found it. I really appreciated their customer service and professionalism and would recommend them to anybody. We are still waiting on the insurance company to decide if covered and either way I will probably call them back to fix the leak as they really do stand behind what they do.

We were on our "3rd" water leak in 4 years that required that the foundation be dug up and the copper pipe be replaced. We had to find another alternative to remedy this problem. I found Accu-Find Slab Leak on Angie's List and they were an answer to a prayer. They simply re-routed the hot water lines through the attic, gave a great guarantee and we were in business. My husband was so delighted as this was an answer to what was becoming a nightmare. If you are having foundation water leaks, I highly recommend that you check this company out.

We knew there were 3 - 4 leaks in the sewer system under our 38 year old home. Accu-Find located them and gave us what was a fair estimate to do the work. We knew the cast iron pipe was old and that there was a chance we might find other problems when they got into the obvious leaks. The worst leaks were on the kitchen/Laundry side of the home and when they got under the slab to fix them, sure enough - they found other leaks in this sewer pipe. We made a decision to fix the leaks and then install a new pipe outside the house that would reroute to the main line in back of the house. We also had at least one leak that we knew of under the guest tub on the other side of the home, also under the slab. When they fixed this leaked they discovered another one further down the line. They had to tunnel further in and fix this leak It was a difficult and time consuming job and they did a very good job at keeping things clean and not leaving us without water very much. This was a major, major repair job and they were good to work with from start to finish. It took over two weeks just because of some weather issues and the fact that we kept finding other things that needed to be repaired. They kept at it and did a terrific job. They were all very courteous and I would certainly call them again - but I sure hope I don't have to!
Description of Work: We had numerous leaks in the sewer system under the slab of our 38 year old home, due to the old cast iron plumbing, and the hot, dry summer we had this year. We had Accu-Find locate the leaks, make the repairs, and then reroute the plumbing where most of the leaks were to the outside and put in a new line which tied into the main sewer line. We also had a leak under the guest room tub on the other side of the house which they also repaired under the slab.

They are a good company. They fixed the problem, what more can one ask for. They were very professional. Though we paid them $1800, it was less than what they thought it is going to be. They did not have to go through the slab on one of them so they adjusted the quote. Price wise I don’t have anything to compare them with, but I am sure they were competitive. I don’t think they were out of ballpark. The fact that they came down on their price, they were honest about it. We will use them again.

They were able to schedule a same day appointment. The owner of the company arrived at the specified time. He used his equipment in an attempt to find the leak. He spent probably 15 minutes investigating. He said that he found no sign of a leak in the water lines (this is the type of repair that they do). He said that there was no way to be absolutely certain until the problem was found, but that it was very likely in the drain system. He explained that his company didn't do that type of repair, but could put me in touch with someone who could do the work. Anyway, based on his assessment, I decided to call in a contractor to do the necessary repairs. He was right, the leak was in the drain system. As he was leaving, I offered to pay him for his time and trouble. He graciously refused payment since it wasn't work that his company did. It's really great to find someone who is honest about what they do and don't do.

A preliminary visit, which followed a visit by the gas company, confirmed the existence of a leak, although the exact location, or whether there was only one leak, was undetermined. The 2-man crew arrived when scheduled and carefully pulled up and rolled back only the amount of carpeting needed to expose the suspected concealed leak area. After breaking into the slab to expose the leaking water line, they repaired it, tested it, and left, but returned the next day after the City inspector approved the repair. When they returned, they patched the repair area and left advised to leave the area uncovered to cure the concrete for 24 hours. The office staff was very courteous, informative, and helpful in handling the transaction, and following up on the schedule. I gave a "B" rating on responsiveness because of their inability to get to me before the weekend (I think I called them on Wednesday) and I therefore, incurred further excessive hot water use, due to the leak. I gave a "B" rating on cost because I've never had this occur; consequently I had no frame of reference. I called another company but they were non-commital, except for their detection charge.

The original estimate was for $2,500 to repair two leaks: one leak in the guest bathroom and one leak across the house in the third bathroom. The estimate included two plumbers for two days at 8 hours per day. The first leak was found and fixed with minimal damage. They perfectly tore four 12x12" ceramic tile pieces near the bathtub and made a small hole in the wall behind the washer and dryer. The second leak ended up being more extensive and necessitated an additional entry point through the foundation. I was advised that this would add an additional day and $1,250 to the original estimate. No family / homeowner wants to be in this situation, but the company handled it professionally and explained to me exactly why this was necessary. I was generally upset about the additional cost, but they couldn't have known the extent of the leak without drilling the first hole. In order to repair the guest bathroom leak, the plumbers drilled through the foundation in an adjoining bedroom closet and again through the ceramic tile in the bathroom. They also cut a 16" x 10" hole in the drywall in our hallway. The additional demolition added about $700 to the cost of repair for tile, mortar, drywall, etc. This amount is not mentioned in the total because the refurbish was performed by a contractor and me. One small issue arose after the crew completed their duties: they inadvertently left behind about 16 large buckets of dirt in our garage and did not reattach the washing machine. We called Accu-find and got resolution the next day.

I read a lot of stories about people digging holes, trying to find the leak. They took a lot of time in finding the leak and were right on top of it and it was in my kitchen and the hole they had to drill through the slab was only a foot square and they fixed it. Everybody was nice and explained everything to me. I felt that their prices were on the higher side, but I got what I paid for. Everyone was very nice and clean.

I used Accu-Find for two different services. First I used their leak detection service. For a cost of approximately $500. They seemed knowledgeable and were very nice. But ACCUaretly FINDing the problem was clearly an issue, I determined this by the second time I used ACCU FIND to fix the leak. My original bid was for $2500 dollars using the information they obtained from the leak detection. Due to their busy schedule I waited for 3 weeks for them to start the job due to their reasonable bid. I was informed from the beginning that things may be a little more intense once they opened the holes in my foundation. The pipes were in bad shape and a third hole was needed. As the job went the dollars climbed which I was informed of along the way. But once you have giant holes in your house you really have no place to run. The end result seems to be very good quality work but I final bill of $5,277. Which missed the original bid of $2500 by over 110%. I found this unacceptable and after intense discussion I was issued a new invoice for $120 less. I still find this outcome as disturbing and warn all Angie's list user to avoid this company.

Response from Accu-Find Slab Leak Inc
IN RESPONSE : WE LOCATED 2 LEAKS ON THE MAIN SEWER LINE APPROX. 8-10FT. APART, AND NOTED ON OUR REPORT THAT ONE OF THE LEAKS HAD SOME CRACKED PIPE. AS REPAIRS ON CAST IRON LINES UNDER SLAB FOUNDATIONS ON OLDER HOUSES OFTEN GO, THERE WAS MORE BAD PIPE THAN WE ANTICIPATED, OR COULD SEE WITH OUR CAMERA. OUR ESTIMATE OF $2500.00 WAS FOR 2 SLAB PENETRATIONS TO REPAIR 2 LEAKS, INCLUDING ACCESS, EGRESS, RETESTING THE SYSTEM , THE CITY PERMIT, AND INSPECTION. THE ESTIMATE (AS STATED ON OUR PROPOSAL ) WAS BASED ON 3FT. OF PIPE PER LEAK, OR 2 - EIGHT HOUR DAYS FOR 2 MEN. WE ALSO STATED THAT ADDITIONAL CHARGES WOULD APPLY IF ANOTHER SLAB PENETRATION WAS NECESSARY, AND THAT ADDITIONAL HOURLY CHARGES WOULD APPLY IF THE TIME TO COMPLETE THE JOB EXCEEDED THE ESTIMATED 8 HOURS PER SLAB PENETRATION. WE ENDED UP REPLACING 20 FT. OF BAD PIPE WHICH REQUIRED 1 ADDITIONAL SLAB PENETRATION (3 TOTAL). WE ALSO HAD TO TUNNEL OUT APPROX. 14FT. BETWEEN THE HOLES. IN ADDITION, WE HYDRO- JETTED OUT THE MAIN SEWER LINE , AND LOCATED ONE ADDITIONAL LEAK. THE TUNNELING AND BACKFILLING REQUIRED EXTENSIVE ADDITIONAL TIME. MANY OF OUR COMPETITORS CHARGE BY THE FOOT FOR ADDITIONAL TUNNELING, BETWEEN $225.00 AND $250.00 PER FOOT. IF WE WOULD HAVE CHARGED BY THE FOOT, THE BILL WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH HIGHER. WE SPENT 5 DAYS ON THE JOB, 4 WITH 2 MEN, AND 1DAY WITH 1 MAN. THE JOB WOULD HAVE BEEN FINISHED SOONER AND THE BILL WOULD HAVE BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER IF THE OWNER WOULD HAVE LET US PENETRATE THE 3RD HOLE WHEN WE RECOMMENDED DOING SO. AS FOR THE $120 DISCOUNT, AFTER THE 3RD DAY WHEN WE KNEW EXACTLY HOW MUCH BAD PIPE WE HAD TO REPLACE I ESTIMATED THE ADDITIONAL HOURS THAT IT WOULD TAKE TO COMPLETE THE JOB AND NOTIFIED THE OWNER THAT THE BILL WOULD BE APPROX. $5200.00. THE ITEMIZED BILL CAME UP TO $5270.00. AFTER OUR DISCUSSION, I DEDUCTED THE $70.00 + $50.00 ANGIE'S LIST COUPON. AS THE OWNER OF ACCU-FIND I FEEL THAT ALL OF THE CHARGES WERE JUSTIFIED FOR THE WORK THAT WAS DONE AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT ON THE JOB. BARRY LEACH OWNER/MGR

Accu-Find did a great job! They were busy (as I found several other plumbers were too) and we were put on the schedule 2 weeks out, but we were willing to wait for a good plumber. In the meantime, the owner came out and gave us the estimate and precautionary measures to take. As it turned out, they were able to come in one week, and even arrived 15 minutes early! Lonnie and his assistant, Nick, got right to work. They found the broken pipe was under a beam in the foundation and explained they couldn't break into that beam and would have to go around it, no extra charge. As they got to work, Lonnie saw the pipe could be repaired without having to cut into the kitchen cabinet and he minimized the number of ceramic tiles he broke through because we only had 7 matching tiles left for repairing the floor. They worked VERY hard removing the water-saturated clay and then saw that the pipe had been repaired previously in the same place, although improperly. Lonnie said he would fix it right and he did. Throughout the day and the mud, they did a good job keeping the area clean and even cleaned the splashes off the counter before they went to lunch, at which time they also pulled a permit. When they finished, the city inspector was there immediately to check the work, so they could fill the hole. Our young daughter was very inquisitive and Lonnie and Nick were very good to her, answering questions and letting her watch close-up. I would highly recommend Accu-Find--my husband has already given their name to a co-worker.
