The roofing project from Protective Coatings and Construction went extremely poorly. It took them forever to do our back house. They were not responsive. They had to redo things several times. It was not a quality work. They have poor customer service. It's not a good company to work with.
Description of Work: We did a back house build and a roofing project with Protective Coatings and Construction.

Response from Protective Coatings and Construction
Water Proofing was not part of the scope of work requested for the coating system to perform. The coating system discussed, submitted to, and approved by the client was specifically designed to encapsulate rust and reflect UV, IR adn VL forms or heat gain.

Terrible Experience I submitted a review in Angie's List just short of hiring an attorney to take this company to court. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the quality of work I received. I have wasted time, money, and needless frustration on this miserable experience. I encourage all who read this to strongly consider hiring a different company than PCCI. Save your money and peace of mind. I have photos to show anyone who is interested in my experience. These photos will show a bedroom ceiling that is not level. The photos will show many, many large, ugly cracks in a slab that is only 90 days old. The photos will show major flaws that can not be repaired without major reconstruction. We hired a third-party professional engineer to inspect the slab out of concern that the new slab was so cracked that it was not structurally sound. While the engineer said that the slab is sound for the short term, he said that the cosmetic quality is some of the worst he has seen, and that long term we should expect to see relatively faster deterioration because of the numerous cracks. To make matters worse, we had contracted with PCCI in advance to apply a stain to concrete work that is so cracked, rough, and ugly that the stain was just a waste of time and money. Complaining to Brian (PCCI's president) was a waste of time. Every time I complained, I was told that I was mistaken -- the cracks I saw were "hairline cracks" (even though they were wide enough to slip a coin inside), that the crooked ceiling I saw was "1/4 inch off" (when, in fact, the professional engineer inspector I hired saw an inch over six feet. The bubble for the level was not even within the two center lines of the level at one spot.) In fact, at one point Brian put his hand on my shoulder to lecture me on my use of the term "sloppy" and how I should not use that term within my own household in his presence. The workers used my restrooms without asking, played loud music (while I worked from home), and left a pile of trash and rubble in my front yard for weeks until I demanded that it be removed. No, I will never use PCCI again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. In the end, I had to just accept that I would have to hire another contractor to repair the PPCI work, primarily because I do not want these guys around my house to continue the misery any longer.
