So I've heard that buying a house is one of the biggest, important, stressful things that someone can do. As stressful as moving IS - the home buying process at Clark Wilson was about as easy and enjoyable as it could have possibly been. Sandy is an absolute joy to work with. She helped us make some very important choice decisions. From the lot we picked out, to some highly useful (I would have never thought of that) home choices, upgrade choices that were must haves, and others that were exciting at first, but in the end didn't make sense. She's got a great eye to help you along the way with all those very important home decisions. Wendell is your home guide during and after the build. He looks over the construction process from the start and will always ask you if he sees something or thinks something is not what you expected. After it's all ready to move into, he'll walk you through and give you great suggestions, tell you about proper maintenance, and some great ideas to make sure your home stays in tip-top shape from the start. I personally was always asking both -- "What do you think?" I loved getting the input and suggestions and in the end we were all very, very happy with how the house came out. It is now a home! It's an amazing build, and both Sandy and Wendell were very helpful when it came to our ideas of what we wanted and needed and in the end what we decided on. I highly recommend Clark Wilson Builders for all your custom home needs. They have so many options to choose from, and the people- especially Sandy and Wendell, are amazing people to work with. It's right next to their name "Clark Wilson Builder - Build it Your Way" We did, and we love it!

After months of asking to talk to somebody other than the sales rep and the construction supervisor, we finally got the attention of two executives of the company. We would have much appreciated discussing our situation before having to resort to write this review. The response we received was only partially correct. We were NEVER made aware that the home site would require such a steep incline to get to the house. My husband has a serious lung condition and would not have been able to leave and return to our house by foot, even to just walk around the cul-de-sac to maybe say hello to neighbors or walk the dog. They suggested that he drive to the bottom of the driveway by car, park the car and then walk. Seriously?! My husband’s health was discussed and stressed from the very get-go. He often did not even accompany me to the model home/office because the incline to get there was a challenge for him, even though it was much less than “our” house ended up having. Of the two only lot sizes remaining to accompany our floor plan, we put much consideration into picking the flatter one not realizing or being told what a steep incline to the home this would mean. We would have been able to get over some of the misinformation we received before and during construction, promises that were broken, and mistakes that were made during the construction, but the driveway was definitely a deal breaker for us. Having to back out of purchasing the house cost us almost $20,000 because of cost for the bigger lot size, the extra garage, etc., which the company adamantly refused to refund, even just in part. In the meantime, the house found a buyer, yet we are still out all our money!

We built a home with Clark Wilson, but ended up not buying the house. The biggest reason being that the house ended up with an extremely steep driveway, which my husband could not manage due to health reasons. We specifically picked a lot as flat as possible, but the lot was not excavated the way we thought it would be, and the house was built so high that the driveway ended up being very steep. We were very disappointed with the overall quality, attention to detail, attention to our wishes (that we paid extra for) and all the mistakes along the way, the added cost for every little thing we wanted changed. All the "extras" we had to pay for are already included in many of the houses we looked at from other builders. We walked away having lost about $20,000. Despite our please, we were not refunded any of that money, even though a lot of it was for things that clearly add to the value, such as a 3-car garage with the mandatory lot premium. CW is more expensive than most similar builders to begin with and with all the "we make changes," they rake in even more money in addition to the advertised price. Shop wisely!
