Description of Work: I signed up for one of the Angie's List deals to have a plumber come out and assess a water pressure problem with our shower. I paid $29 for $60 toward work/service. The charge for a consult was $50. | |The man who came out said that he would have to cut a hole in our wall and replace pipes in additions to some hoses in order to get our shower running. However, during the process of exploring the problem the water pressure was way up and he'd said it was just hot water coming out (the side that had been low). He gave me a quote of $800 to do the job, not including patching up the wall, which most plumbing companies don't do, I guess. | |My mom recommended I try calling another guy who has his own businesses and no staff. He came over, assessed the problem and replaced a hose, explaining to me why he was doing so. He said the guy from American Eagle quoted me a fair price for the job he proposed but that the job wasn't necessary to fix the problem I wanted addressed. He said I can get away with pushing that project off for a while, but if and when I want to do it, $800 wasn't a rip off. I ended up paying $150 for the visit, labor, and parts with the independent guy and he also flushed my bathroom sink and looked at a sluggish flush, too. | |I would call my independent guy again first, but if I needed a project done that was beyond his scope, I'd call American Eagle - I would just ask a lot more questions to make sure I wasn't being up-sold.

Description of Work: Replaced a freeze plug faucet in a very tight location in floor joists with other pipes hindering access. I also upgraded another shut off valve for a freeze plug faucet on the other side of house. Good work, arrived at time. Placed cover material down to protect carpet in one area.

Description of Work: Repaired a leaking t-joint buy cutting it out and welding in new. everything was excellent except the saw lines in the floor boards due to the over sized tool used. more of a warning for the future since it wont be forgiven again.
