I emailed this merchant off of the website to inquire as to what was the best way to obtain an estimate. I've never had anything upholstered and didn't know if they needed to come out and look @ the item or for the customer to bring in photos, etc. Waited about 2 weeks and never heard from them so decided to go there with photos of the furniture. I had since received 2 other estimates from other businesses. I showed him the photos, told him I'd heard of their business on Angie's List and he said he's not a member and has never even looked at the reviews even though A.L. had contacted him about providing him a sign-in password, etc... guess he can't be bothered. Immediately he wanted my information (name, address, etc.) and I said and quot;I'd like an estimate firstand quot;. He seemed assumptive that I was going to get the work done without an estimate. He quickly provided an estimate of $1200 and then wanted to my information again and had an order sheet already out ready to write. I then said, thank you and that I'd received 2 other estimates and that his estimate was higher. He then asked who the other estimates were from so I told him and he proceeded to ridicule one place (and he didn't know of the other). The referral he was knocking came from a friend who is a decorator so I think her referrals are good based on previous experience. I figured THOSE places would be MORE expensive since they are located in Southlake and Colleyville but Wilson's was the highest. He then said, well maybe he'd figured the price incorrectly and he came down to $950! He was still the highest. Continued to knock the one place and said how backed up he was - indicating he didn't need my business. So I left.
Description of Work: Provided estimate.

Went very well.
Description of Work: Mr. Wilson picked up my chair on 2-22-13 and delivered it on 2-28-13. I am very pleased with the results. My fabric is a stripe and he matched it perfectly. I will do business with him again. I have several more pieces that I would like to have covered in my bedroom but until I know what I want to do in there they will have to wait. Very pleased.

He has a large selection of fabrics and gives 33% off fabrics...delivery was right on time both times....I am very particular and did not have a recommendation for him but used him and his work is outstanding!...just took 1 week to redo a sleeper sofa with six pillows....I priced this at a Colleyille store and the fabric was 300.00 more..(no discount) and total bill was 400.00 more... I am very very satisfied and beyond...wonderful work!

This is a "one man show" and you need to call ahead of time to be sure he is in the shop. We discussed what I needed (8 chair pads recovered) and that I already had my upholstery fabric which was a very busy print. He gave me a quote and told me how far out he was scheduling his work. He put my name on his list and called me a day ahead of time for me to bring in the chair pads. He had the project finished a day sooner than I expected. He matched the print on each chair pad perfectly. This was a great experience ... given some of the horror stories I have read.

I found him in the phone book, went to visit him, liked him, he seemed very professional and very experienced and decided to use him, even though there weren't any samples in his shop to see. He has been in business for years. He told me how much fabric I would need, and has lots of fabric samples in his shop. He answered any questions I had. I purchased the fabric and took it and the chair seats to him. I saw one chair seat there at his shop and asked him if he could do mine a different way - the way the corners were made. He was happy to accomodate me and they turned out very nicely. He made helpful suggestions regarding different ways the seats could be re-upholstered - box with cording at top and bottom vs just cording around the bottom where they attach to the chair. I went with his advice, cording just around the bottom and am well pleased. He completely replaced the 25 yr old padding and webbing (I didn't know what webbing was prior to my visit.) The workmanship is perfect! I'm very pleased that I chose him.
Description of Work: Rodney Wilson reupholstered the chair seats of my dining room set - eight chair seats, and did absolutely perfect, beautiful work.

After reading several positive reviews on Angie's List, I contacted Mr. Wilson to perform the work. He asked me to bring in the chair and material. When I did, he said he could get it done in two weeks, and since we were only covering half the chair and providing the material, he would only charge us half the usual amount. We agreed, and left the chair and material. Mr. Wilson called ten days later, and said that the chair was ready. A few days later, I came by to pick up the chair, but the business was closed (he went to pick up his kids from school; I should have called first). I called and came back the next day to get the chair. Mr. Wilson did excellent work. It looked like a new chair. He used every bit of the material to cover as much of the chair as he could, covering even more than we had agreed to. He even added more cushion material for no extra charge. I was very happy with the quality of the work.
Description of Work: Reupholstered the seat and arms of a 40 year old Lazy Boy recliner with material that I provided.

This business came recommended by the man who refinished the rocker. Rodney Wilson seemed very straightforward when I met him. He said it would take about two weeks and it took just over that. I'm quite pleased with the result. He might not be the best choice if historic accuracy is your goal since he uses modern materials (foam, etc.) but he does good work.
Description of Work: He reupholstered an old rocker which has been in my family since the 1930s, using fabric which I supplied. This only involved the back and seat, since the rest of the rocker is wood.

Went great. Chairs were ready in 9 days. The fabric was applied beautifully and attached securely.
Description of Work: I had five antique chairs re-upholstered. Way too many choices but Rodney gave me all the time I needed to choose. Fortunately for both of us, I made my decision in about 10 minutes.
