Description of Work: They were horrible. They guy was a jerk. See agreed to a price, put down more then they asked for a deposit. They started project. Then he wanted more money and after thy dug up the yard and made a mess. They guy pulled his guys from the job and he didn't come back for weeks. We didn't want to lose out deposit ( so never pay more than you need to for deposit) then we ended up paying more just to get the job done. Awful business owner, awful experience. Never again. We had to end up getting it redone not long after they did it.

I have a few notes to add which didn't fit into the narrative above, but which should be mentioned as an indicator of the company. Observant readers will notice that I put $0.00 in the "price" column. I believe that I received a very fair price quote, certainly reasonable for the amount of work and materials involved, and was quite satisfied with the value to cost ratio. Great Escapes crew took care to "work around" a treasured rosebush, and spare it from destruction. (This couldn't have been "convenient") They also saved a large decorative bush in the back - which now softens the corner of the yard. They were able to accommodate, or re-negotiate, changes in the original plan during construction, as conditions required, or the "whims" of the homeowner necessitated. Every crew member was friendly and courteous - respectful of the home and homeowners - and I didn't see any "slackers" among them. I didn't have to worry that they were "cutting corners" because I saw that each took pride in their work and "did it right." Crew left worksite reasonably clean and free of debris and trash each night, and at the end of the job. John and Mickey planned for redundant irrigation pipes - in case the original pipes broke at some point - the sidewalk would not have to be ripped up to replace/fix irrigation. My wife and I no longer have to "prepare for the worst" every time we hear a Thunderstorm Warning. The drainage works perfectly. Great Escapes did everything they "said they would do" and more - and have my highest recommendation - both as individuals, and as a company.
Description of Work: Great Escapes Outdoor Living and Landscape transformed a weed choked and disused mess of a backyard into a sunny place of refuge and relaxation. More importantly though, and the core of the job - was building an engineered drainage plan (exactly to specifications) which now prevents our house from flooding each time we get a heavy rain. Foreman John McClendon and his brother Mickey are personally dedicated to producing excellent results. They were very responsive during the planning/pre-construction meetings so that I was comfortable knowing exactly what would happen, when, where and how. Additionally, they provided a clear estimate and plan of work , detailing the scope of work, and the associated costs. When construction began, the crew worked steadily every day until the job was completed to my complete satisfaction - and I am somewhat finicky...(OK - Very finicky.) What you can see in the finished job however, does not adequately show the immense amount of work involved. This included excavating tons of dirt, strict attention to drainage grading, re-routing of existing irrigation, monolithic pouring of steel reinforced concrete retention walls, stairs, ramps and sidewalks. The Stonemasons, led by foreman German are second to none, and overlayed the patio-walk area with Oklahoma flagstone. They also attended to the subtle details of their craft which really make a difference in the professional look "fit and finish." Great Escapes also renovated our entryway with the same Oklahoma flagstone motif - which "ties in" the front and back of the house perfectly. It looks great and my wife is thrilled ! (Need I say more?) Yes! They removed our rotten, dilapidated wood fence and replaced it with a beautiful 10 foot high cedar fence (metal poles) along the back, which slopes to 6 foot along the sides of the house. Now the back yard is "the place to be." I am looking forward to when I can install landscape planting, lighting and a pergola to cover the patio. I understand that Great Escapes does that too!

I had another landscaper come out and propose pavers. Great Escapes was just slightly higher but to use real stone and flagstone which looks so much better. They came on time, kept me informed of the project and were very professional. They offered to provide and install the plantings of the beds but my husband preferred to do it himself. I plan on using Great Escapes for my new house later this fall.
Description of Work: Installed a stone wall around my pool, put in stone border around my beds and added a flagstone path around my house which is gorgeous.
