Fence Works

I first contacted Fenceworks via their website e-mail on April 24th to request an inspection and bid on replacing a fence that blew down during a storm the previous night. Doug contacted me by e-mail Monday evening and he planned to come by on Wednesday evening to assess my damage and bid on the cost to replace or repair my fence. He never showed up or contacted me to reschedule. I contacted him again via e-mail on Wednesday, May 4th and asked that if he were still interested in bidding for this work to contact me by end of day. Again, I did not hear from him. On Thursday, May 5th I notified him that I had selected another company to do the work.

They did a better job for less money than another company I called and use better materials. They came and did exactly what theysaid they would do. Doug Moore, the owner, was even present and even did the welding himself which I thought was wonderful! I would definitely use this company in the future and recommend them.

I called for a small repair job on my fence on Friday afternoon. Doug returned my call Saturday morning and gave me an estimate over the phone. He advised me they were booked up 3-4 weeks but thought they could work my small job in soon. Doug called me the next business day and showed up with his crew and completed the work.

I found Doug while searching through the higher rated fence contractors on Angies List. After interviewing several companies he seemed to present the best value and quality. He did not disappoint. He started and finished his job as in the time frame he said. Even more importantly was the fine quality of his work . He was on site the whole time with his crew throughout the project. The final product looks great. I would highly recommend him and Fence Works.

- The job went very well...exactly as advertised, and for slightly less cost than estimated. We were also able to take advantage of a winter sale being offered. - They were prompt on on their initial visit, in which they provided a cost-free estimate. This visit was completed very quickly and an estimate provided on the spot. - They showed up promptly on the day of the job, and were able to complete it without our being available the entire day (my wife and I both work). - The job was completed in less than one day, which was important to me because we have three dogs that use the back yard. The work was very professional, as was the clean-up. - They called the next day with a follow-up to ensure we were happy with the job. - I would use this company in the future and would definitely recommend them to others!

Doug came out promptly to bid it and we were impressed with him during that part of the process. He himself came with another worker which I liked because a lot of times with these service companies it seems the owner bids then has workers come who may not have the same level of competence. He was patient with all our questions and our extreme eye for details and met all our expectations.

Doug Moore, owner of Fence Works, is the consummate professional. The first time we hired Doug was in 2009; he installed board-on-board fencing with a driveway gate at the front of our new (to us) home. The workmanship and quality is incredible and I can't count the complements we've received on this fence and gate. When we were ready to replace part of the old backyard fence, we again chose Doug. Once more we are extremely pleased. His attention to detail and his expertise are world class. I highly recommend Fence Works for any fencing, and we will definitely use him again as we complete our exterior remodel.

I found Fence Works highly rated on Angie's List and gave them a call. I was not disappointed. Doug was able to respond quickly with a visit to my house and gave me a very competitive estimate. I agreed to have him do the work and he scheduled it for a few days later. He gave me a call to let me know he would be able to do the job a day earlier and asked if that was ok with me. I said yes and the crew was out there the next day to install the fence. It is a professional job and Doug was a pleasure to work with. I agree with the other people who have rated Doug and Fence Works and completely agree that he does great work and is a pleasure to work with.

Arrived on time. Periodically checked to show progress. Helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable - in short, professional. Definitely would recommend Doug and his crew to others.

These guys were great!. I got an estimate the same day I called, and agreed to the work right on the spot. They were quick, and the new fencing is perfect!

I called to ask for an estimate and when I asked for the man's name he hung up on me. I tried to call back and got his voice mail. I wonder what they are hiding?

What a professional from the time he gave us his estimate to the finished product. Doug and his co-worker were always on time, gave us the opportunity to ask questions during the construction, took great care when working in our (4) neighbors' yard areas and cleaned up each night prior to leaving. It was 2 full days of hard labor, even working through rain to complete the task on time. When the job was complete, Doug asked that we inquire with each neighbor sharing the fence if they saw anything from their view that needed attention. All of our neighbors were very pleased with the finished product. We would definitely recommend Doug/Fence Works to anyone who wanted a quality product at a fair price.

Doug, the owner of the company came out and gave me an estimate to replace part (the back section) of our backyard fence. He did an excellent job. He and one other man showed up on time and had the entire section of fence completed in two or three hours. He also replaced three broken pickets on the side fence for no charge. I highly recommend him for any fencing job. He is very professional and a pleasure to do business with.

He did a wonderful job. He showed up on time the day he originally said he would. Three man crew - owner, his son and one other guy. Very professional. Asked how I wanted it done throughout the process so there were no surprises. I would definitely recommend him to friends.

Start to finish, the whole process was fast, professional, and easy. Doug, the owner of the company, met me at my house on the same day I first called him. He, and one other guy, built the fence, and he made an aesthetic adjustment at the end of the job that was free of charge.

It is our opinion Angie's List Members could save time & stop looking for fence companies if they have considered FenceWorks for one of their bids. FenceWorks/Mr. Moore and crew seem to be skilled carpenters . He uses no subcontractors & he is on site, WORKING with his crew for the entire job. Fence is neat, even and sturdy. Arrived promptly each day. Cleaned up ALL areas of construction in both yard & drive, including raking up wood chips, etc. at the end of each day's work. The FenceWorks crew was pleasant He took the time to ask our opinions on the most minor of decisions that had to be made on our fence installation to be sure the final product was exactly what we wanted. FenceWorks also worked with strict city officials & our landscape crew to make sure our fence worked with city codes & with our yard, which is not an easy or flat yard. Because Mr. Moore is on-site for the entire job & because he does not use sub-contractors, there may be a short wait of a week or so to get your job started, but we found it is well worth the wait.

Doug and the team did an excellent job. They came on the day promised, performed the job within a couple of days, left no mess behind. We needed a couple of minor adjustments to the gate settings. They followed up very quickly upon contacting.

We wanted a fence / gate that would go from the front corner of hour home and across the driveway, extending to the corner of our property. Doug and his crew were an excellent choice - very professional, excellent work and workmanship and prompt attention when we had a recent problem (this problem was not related to the work or materials). The Fence Works crew arrived on time, created a gorgeous fence / gate and cleaned up afterward.

I couldn't be more pleased with the work that was done or the materials that were used. Doug is very professional, and he does excellent work. We found him to be very courteous and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. He was very patient with us when we were trying to decide what type of fence to build, and was able to answer all of the questions that we had. Update 12/19/2010 I had a few pickets split since the installion while the fence was still under warranty, so I e-mailed Doug and he promptly came out and replaced them all at no additional cost. He did this for me on two separate occasions. I'm very pleased with Doug's integrity and level of service.

We used Angie's List and the BBB website to research fence companies in the NE Tarrant area. That is how we found Doug Moore with Fence Works. We had multiple bids and his was close to the lowest bid, but not the lowest. We are very pleased with the fence. One of the biggest reasons is that Doug was on site and did much of the work himself. He can be described as a true craftsman - not just someone trying to build a fence as quickly as they can and then go on to the next job. He also uses high quality materials. I would not have any reservations in recommending Doug Moore for a fencing project.

I called to have an estimate for a new fence and was provided quotes for different options. One for Cedar and one for Spruce. We decided to go with a #2 Cedar (more knots) and the work started about 3 weeks later. The fence was completed in two days (day one to set posts and day two to complete). The crew was very professional and cleaned up after themselves very well. Overall transaction was excellent. Very professional and excellent craftsmanship. I could not be happier with this fence.

The person whom I contacted for an estimate did not set an appointment with me. He complained about the distance which is only about 20 minutes. He came in and just left something under my door. I asked him to set an appointment so that I could be there and tell him exactly what I wanted. He said that it has to be during the weekend and he did not know the time. He informed me that he would leave it under the door if I wasn?t there. Therefore the bid was incorrect as I could not tell him what I wanted. He wasn?t very professional.

We called Doug for an estimate, leaving a voice message. He promptly returned our call, set up a time to talk to us and provide an estimate. He called on the appointment date and arrived early. We walked the job. He listened attentively, answered our questions and made some constructive suggestions. He completed his estimate onsite and left it with us. His estimate was neither high nor low. After deliberation my wife & I selected Doug for our project because of his courteous and professional manner. My wife called Doug to schedule the project. Doug arranged to get all utility lines marked and on the start date he and his crew were on site on time. They worked diligently to remove the old fencing and proceeded to erect the new fence. It was a one day project scheduled for unfortunately one of the hottest days yet in our area, 100 degrees. They were exceptionally neat, hauling all debris away and cleaning up after themselves. Once complete, Doug invited me to do a walk thru which we did. The fence looks great and Doug and his crew were great to work with. PS my neighbor had some issues with a couple of sprinklers adjacent to the new fence and Doug took care of resolving them.
