With the $99 sale, I assume he had too many appointments. I complained to Angie's list and was told that I would receive the $99 refund, but never did. I am not exactly sure of the approximate date of last contact as noted above, but it was in April.

Good job overall. Owner made good suggestions for plants and landscaping. Service was prompt and the job was finished on a timely basis, Crew was professional and efficient. Cleanup was very thorough.

The work was lousy. The guy drove up in a beat up car and didn’t have any indication of the company name on his car or outfit. He smelled of cigarettes and was totally unprofessional. He was more interested in selling me upgrades for the system instead of completing only the sprinkler tune-up. He was very unprofessional and I would never work with him again.

We purchased a promotion through Angie's List from Summerlin Landscaping. For what we paid the company was supposed to come to our home and survey and plan a landscape design for out backyard. He arrived promptly and the meeting was off to a good start. We began telling him what we were looking for and then proceeded to tell him that my husband and I are very handy and DIY our projects. However, we did tell him depending on the quote we would use his company for things such as hardscaping. We took the designer to the back yard to show him the space. As we began telling him about our vision for it he continued to suggest a deck that would take up the majority of our back yard. We explained to him that we were not interested in a huge deck but would be interested in a flagstone patio with rock landscaping around a hot tub. But he would not lay off and continued to try and force a giant deck on us. The meeting ended and he said he was busy but should have the design ready in 1-2 weeks. Well 1-2 weeks passed and we did not hear from him. We called up his office and his secretary informed us that several big projects came up and he fell behind on our project. So we called back in a week and were unable to reach him at any number, After 4-5 weeks of calling we contacted Angie's List for a refund. This company is completely unprofessional and will not deal with you if they feel your account is not big enough. We hired them for a consultation and a landscape design and received nothing but a pushy designer trying to force feed us a huge deck. I do not recommend this company under any terms. I am glad we did not actually hire them for any services as I fear we would still be waiting for them to finish it.

Overall, it was a great experience. I would recommend writing down all the things that are discussed and using that as the "check list" for items to be completed. Great job!

Terribly. Very unprofessional.

The company rep came to my house to consult on what my landscaping needs and desires were. After the consultation the rep said they would develop a design and call me to set up an appointment to go over the design. I never got the call or a design, so i asked Angie's list for a refund.

We had purchased a coupon from Angie's List for a landscape design, and even though the timing was much slower than anticipated (likely due to the overwhelming response to the $99 design offer), the design we finally received showed great potential. Sean was easy to work with, amenable to changes in his plan to suit our preferences, and his crew was very nice. I was able to go with Sean to select the plants I liked, which was appreciated. Sean was also careful to verify our satisfaction with placement of new plants before they were planted. However, one plant Sean selected for the front of our house was deciduous, which was not acceptable. Sean did not appear to be aware that the plant was deciduous which was surprising. Luckily, the plants had been purchased from a nursery that allowed us to return them in exchange for a more suitable plant. We waited several weeks to write this review, wanting to see how the new landscaping survived. And we are glad we did. We now realize that Sean did a few things that are assuredly not the best way to do things. For one thing, one of the shrubs was actually planted in a clump of dirt on top of the soil rather than planted in the soil. Granted, there is a large tree nearby which made it difficult to plant a shrub in that location, but even so, that shrub had to be moved as it was dying after a combination of the sprinkler system and rain thinned the clump of dirt. Another problem is that Sean added topsoil to the top of the existing soil rather than working it into the existing soil. As a result, we still have a layer of clay just below the surface of the flower beds which is what we had hired Sean to remedy. A third problem is that the edging that Sean installed has already begun to come out of the ground as not enough stakes were used to hold the edging in place, and further, a lot of the stakes designed to hold the edging in place, appear to have been broken during the installation but not replaced. Finally, the location of in-ground sprinkler heads was not marked as raised flower beds were added to our landscape. In spite of these problems, our landscape looks very nice, Still, we are not planning to use Sean's services again. Aside from the carelessness, we did find Sean to be expensive, with the final cost including an additional 14% above the agreed upon amount.

We bought the Angie's offer for a landscape design. First we scheduled the visit and he didn't turn up. We gave him another chance. He turned up to look at our yard and agreed to prepare the drawings. We haven't heard from him. After we chased him he said he was to busy to do it. WE contacted Angie's list and got a refund for the Coupon we purchased.

He built a beautiful deck. I would use him for building decks but not landscaping. He was a very nice man.

The company was so overwhelmed with the Big Deal that they couldn't get to me and changed the parameters of the deal so much it was of no use to me. I actually requested a refund from Angie's List and did not use the Big Deal or Summerlin Landscaping.

Unfortunately, never happened.

This was a while ago, so don't remember exactly how much this cost, but I was pleased with Summerlin's upgrade of my sprinkler system. He replaced the old control box with a new one, replaced old sprinkler heads where necessary, and adjusted the system.

It was a totally lousy experience. I am reluctant to hire any landscaping people.

He seemed pleasant enough but never provided the quote for services. So the money I paid was obviously just for him to show up.

After several phone calls, Sean made a visit to our home. Several weeks later he brought a binder with a few photgraphs and a hand drawn sketch of our backyard with a few suggested plants. Pitiful. Not worth $99 - let alone $500. Unfortunately, this experience means that I will not be able to trust any of the special deals offered by Angie's List.

I contacted the company to come out and provide the tune up on my sprinkler and I never received a call back from them.

Couldn't have gone any worse

I did not use this company. I bought the Angie's List Big Deal - but I read that other customers who also bought the big deal were not getting their calls returned - this is a one man shop and he was overwhelmed by the number of calls. I was tired of hassling with the companies that Angie's List Big Deal features, so I requested a refund.

We bought the big deal for landscaping consultation. Summerlin sent a representative to get the lay out of our yard and what we were looking to have done. Then we were supposed to meet with him and come up with a design plan. We never met. Never got back in touch . Then I read all the reviews, realized he had overextended and requested a refund from Angie's list which they provided.

I purchased the Big Deal. I called near the end of the expiration date of the coupon. The company was not taking any new appointements due to the overwhelming response from the special, and they were not able to accomodate everyone. I called Angies list and they refunded me my money.

I had scheduled an appointment however, the day prior to that date, I received an email stating they would not be able to provide the service and would refund my money. Have not yet seen that refund.

After waiting months for an appointment, I took a day off from work to meet them at my home. My appointment time was delayed by the office staff three or four times during the day. In the end, no one showed up, no apologies, no attempt to reschedule, no returned calls. Spent $99 and lost a day of work was what I got from this 'special'. When I ask about a refund, Summerlin told me they were not responsible for refunding my $99. I am now working with another landscape company on $6-7K worth of landscape work. This was my first time to purchase a Angie's List special..and my last.
